And now, as we look into a housing loan, they're saying there's no guarantee for freshman housing anyway... I'm totally shocked. Priority goes to international students, then out-of-state, then in-state, then even students from nearby counties... seriously? We rejected Baylor, SMu, Spelman, Howard, University of Houston, University of Oregon for this? This is a slap in the face. Why offer a full ride without housing and a meal plan?

After graduating, I secured a new grad position, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn't continue in that role. As many know, leaving a new grad position can make finding another job very challenging. Celeste was incredibly supportive during that difficult time. She not only helped me navigate the job search process, but also guided me on how to improve my interview skills and build my confidence. With her help, I was able to secure 4 interviews and ultimately land a new position with better pay than my previous role. I'm truly grateful for her dedication and support she made a real difference in my career journey. Thank you, Celeste

Our son earned a full academic scholarship straight out of high school and is a 2021 Graduate…read more He completed the JSOM Program, Collegium V Honors, a BA in Cyber Security. UTD was a good fit for him, he enjoyed the campus, and felt he got adequate support from his professors when it came to learning, study abroad opportunities, and internships. He commuted from home but would have loved to live on campus (we simply couldn't afford it). He would have been more aggressive about living on campus if there were more activities/ events to attend but UTD is not that kind of campus. They have a little bit going on ...  but nothing like UNT, TAMU, or Baylor. He did one study abroad trip to Finland. He made many friends, had a few awesome adventures, learned a lot more about this industry. It was life-changing for him. We are so grateful that he had that experience because once COVID19 was here the program was shut down.  COVID19 changed colleges nationwide and until the pandemic is under control, college life is not going to be the experience it should be. The key that opened doors for our son was internships.  Four internships landed our son a FT job this past March 2021 ... before he finished his finals at UTD. #ProudParents Goodbye JSOM at UTD! Thank you.

Dallas College is a nightmare. Financial Aid is completely messed up all the time. The schedule…read moreis never correct. Classes that should be there are left off and instructors that left years ago and will not be teaching are still listed. Opt-out does not work after a year of trying to get help through every avenue possible. Emeritus students get dumped 4 times a semester for non-payment when their classes are supposed to be free. The employees are wonderful, but they are not trained and nothing ever gets fixed. Implementing Workday has been a complete disaster and has done nothing but cause problems for everyone. Students will spend hours on the online queue only to get dumped without being helped. Going on campus for services takes hours and one will be shuffled endlessly from one department to another as no one knows how to do anything. Communication is absolutely terrible across the board. Dirty professors like Dr. Andrew Evangelista will put students into dozens of hours that will not transfer, but will exhaust financial aid and may land students in out of state tuition upon transfer. Despite numerous complaints nothing is done to stop rogue professors like him. He was a temporary Music Department Chair and now has been named a permanent one. He added junior level classes that can never transfer and has expanded the music program into complete collapse. Who wants to sing in a choir of 7? Dallas College is a disorganized and chaotic mess. When will the administration and the board start listening to students, paying parents, taxpayers and graduates of the program and making the desperately needed changes?

I love to be read too and you can read a variety of books for free! The best bang for your buck! Really happy I discovered reading books again. Not sure why I ever slowed down. Collin County College is awesome! Simply need to go in person to apply for the card. It's so simple! It gives you access to ALL libraries in Collin county and the State of Texas. Everyone should have a library card! I wish more people would be interested in being part of a library. It's so cool to have access to knowledge. Be extraordinary and join any library across the country! The only draw back is they don't have audiobooks. Suppose students don't have time to read anything but text books! If you return the book late you will be charged late fees. Only fair. There are rules you have to follow. Others are waiting for that book: Be kind and return on time. July 2024
