The first time I took them to the self wash I was charged for a medium and a large sized dog self-wash after telling them my dogs weight. Now a second time I go and they asked for my dogs weight, I said 18 and 21lbs. I had also gotten a few exotic treats that were not priced so I didn't think anything when I heard the total. When I got home and look at the receipt I noticed I was charged for 2 large dogs. Mind you we had to wash both dogs in the same tub at the same time. Their normal groomer doesn't even charge them as large dogs because they are not. So I guess I'm just confused on the pricing because a 21lb cockapoo is BARELY a medium sized dog... so I guess great for treats bad for self washing.

Murphy looked great when I picked him up, and what really stood out was how calm and happy he seemed afterward compared to some of his previous grooming experiences. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable groomer that provides quality work and great customer service. We'll be back!

BEWARE! I chose this groomer due to their availability the following day, but unfortunately, the…read moreexperience did not meet expectations. My dog sustained a cut on the leg during grooming, which was treated with "vet glue" and a bandage. Initially, it was described as a minor injury that would heal quickly. However, after a week, it became apparent that stitches were necessary. This has resulted in substantial vet expenses. I would not recommend this groomer. Full disclosure: My dog was matted before being groomed which I was clear about before the groom BUT she has been matted before and we've taken her to several groomers and not once has she been cut, so I'm not accepting that reasoning to be valid.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, we were told our puppy was very sick, needed a surgery that starts anywhere from $8-$10 THOUSAND asap, and that it won't guarantee her to live since she is a Frenchie. Then they said she needed another surgery after that for something else, which was over $10 THOUSAND. We decided to go pick her up from our vet and make a hard decision to put her down. I started calling around Vegas with info that our vet gave us, and the Vets that did answer said the same price, and the risk was huge! I started doing a wider search in California, Arizona, and Utah. Finally, I called Lava Rock, Ashley answered, I asked A LOT of questions, she patiently answered all of them, and she set up an appointment for the next day. We packed our bags, along with our other dog (so if the surgery was successful, and she needed aftercare, we would stay out in St. George). We arrived, and the first thing they noticed was how well our puppy was acting. Dr Murdock went over all Philly's records and did an exam. She let us know that after the exam, she didn't see any reason to put our girl down. We were SHOCKED AND CONFUSED (crying happy tears now) as this was such a serious life-threatening problem, so we asked her to take an X-ray to reassure us. She still didn't see any reason for concern! We are happy to report our girl is ALIVE and THRIVING

They arranged for a tour on my return for pickup and the place is not huge but ample sized. Very clean. I will probably use them for boarding in the near future. Liked this place better than other offerings in the area.
