I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

Jan is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your dog's success. She takes the time to explain the underlying reasons behind dog behaviors. She gives individual instruction and advice to each client and furry friend to help them with specific behaviors. Jan has taught me how to communicate effectively to Molly. Group lessons are fun, we all learn together! There is always something new and stimulating to learn at each class. Thank you Jan for helping me learn how to train and teach Molly, because of you, we have a positive, happy relationship. Live Oak Obedience is the best!

The trainers here are seriously amazing. Our 7 year old rescue husky has learned so much. She used…read moreto pull on her leash (because husky) and now she heels perfectly, even at home when we walk her. She goes to her place and meets people without jumping all over them. They have also taught us tricks on how to manage her resource guarding with other dogs which we are very thankful for. You can tell the trainers here really love what they do and the dogs they work with. We did the 10 day board and train, and just know this was not easy for my husband and I. This dog is our world and we don't just trust anyone with her. They answered all my questions, sent extra updates and pictures and really made me feel so much better about having my dog with them. And she seemed happy when we went to pick her up, I can safely say they took good care of our dog. The trainers gave us all the tools to keep the training going at home as this is the only way it will stick. The follow up lessons have been helpful as well. The training is for us as much as it is for the dogs. I personally feel it was worth the money, time and effort. All dogs need training, boundaries and structure. I would recommend this place and the trainers to everyone and will definitely be bringing our future dogs here.

I have seen both the growth in my dog and the others in her class over the past 6 months. They have trainers come to your house to give extra assistance and then there are group classes so they can practice with a lot of distractions. I really like and can see effectiveness in the approach, enthusiasm, and communication between trainers and owners. They are also always trying to improve and work with meeting everyone's needs, which is a lot of people! Thank you for all you do!
