No follow-up ghost call after call, no response for over a week! Do they care about placing the pets, or is your personal information just floating out there with no response? Makes you wonder if they are a legitimate business. They need to do better! Thank you for responding. For clarity, I was never notified of any decline, background check issue, or status update. If your organization made such a determination, it was not communicated to me in any form. I was contacted directly by a coordinator from your rescue, who requested my vet information and photos of my home, which I provided. I also have documented text threads confirming communication from your team. My review was strictly about lack of follow-up and inconsistent communication. A simple message with an update--whatever the decision--would have resolved the matter. I hope future applicants receive clearer and more timely communication so they aren't left without information after providing personal details.

MatchDog Rescue has given me and my bf our first love, Hewitt…read more Before attending the event in Atco, we were given a phone call with a proper run down on how the event would work so we were not confused when we got there. They are extremely communicative, and the events are usually held on Saturdays, but the transport that was bringing the dogs in had troubles and the event ultimately had to be moved to Sunday. I had my phone call at about 11:15 and about 1 PM hours later I was informed about the date change. It is not a typical adoption shelter that I have been to in the past. At the event, there is a ticket system, as in, the earlier you get there the earlier you will be called. While you wait you mingle with the volunteers and the dogs. You get a vibe on which dog feels like the best fit for you. However, be mindful that the crew with MatchDog Rescue does their due diligence and wants the best for EVERY SINGLE DOG. We went to the event with a very specific dog in mind. One that was on the medium/large end. However, the staff that reviewed our application and lifestyle, let us know that the dog might not be the best fit for us in terms of training and size of our home. While it was disappointing to hear, we knew at heart we wanted what was best for the dog and us. As mentioned before there is a mingling period while waiting to be called on by staff. During this period you can meet dogs of all ages, sizes, and all types OUTSIDE of dog cages. We had met several different dogs during this period, just to name a few that I can remember, Nevada, Hewitt, Cassidy, Dukie, and Garret. We bonded with several dogs early on, but with our hearts set on a specific dog, we just enjoyed their presence. However, after being informed that the dog we had our hearts set on was not a good fit for us, we knew which of the many dogs we met during the mingling period we wanted to go on a walk with. We asked if Hewitt was a good fit for us, confirmed he was, took him on a little stroll around the lot, and knew that our hearts were set on him. We went through the process of adopting him and each volunteer we worked with, remembered Hewitt and always told us how he was such a great dog and a cute little snippet or fun fact about Hewitt. There was never a doubt in my mind that Hewitt was not loved under their care. On our way out with Hewitt, the last volunteer that we worked with walked us to our car, ensuring that Hewitt was buckled in and safe and had their very loving and sad goodbyes with each other. Hewitt has been with us for about a week. We are a very calm, but active couple and Hewitt matches exactly that for us. When we are relaxing, he is relaxing. When we are running, Hewitt is right there running with us. It is not something that I considered when I was looking into adopting a dog, but I am extremely grateful the staff at MDR let us know before adopting a dog. If ever in the future I am looking for a second dog, there is no doubt in my mind that MDR will be the first adoption agency I look into.

Their volunteers coordinate with partner rescues in areas with an abundance of overcrowded, high-kill shelters. The fosters nurture, care for and partner with veterinary professionals to ensure that the rescued pups are primed to thrive in their new "Furever" homes. When I picked up my 8 month old puppy she was so desperate to pee and poo, she went on the sidewalk in front of their building. She was so thirsty she was panting and needed water immediately. I sent food but she did not eat there. To compound the problem, Communication is awful. They don't let you into the space. You stand on the sidewalk - they crack open the door and pull her in or give you the leash to take her out. You get 1 email a week with some photos and videos. They don't appear to read the form you fill out and don't discuss goals. I told them that my puppy has had training since birth, but their first video was showing me how to hold a leash. The second video was of a different dog being trained - they said my dog was tethered watching. Throughout the entire video I could hear her crying. No one attempted to soothe her at all. I provided constructive input verbally and in writing by email. Despite my bad experience at the City School, I was still interested in the Farm School. I went to the open house and they were much more transparent about what a typical day looks like there. But before the evaluation day (which is separate from the City School evaluation), they called me to say that they were cancelling the evaluation because I am not a good fit for their program. They said it had nothing to do with my dog, who is a very sweet Labrador, it is because I am not "aligned" with them. They were not willing to even listen to why I thought the Farm School would be a better fit than the City School, saying that the decision had been made "by senior management" and it is not worth wasting time talking about it. Wow!

I requested pictures and information on her parents, and I recieved pictures of them- but they weren't any of the cats on their Instagram Kings and Queens. I was emailed a contract, and I signed it. I noticed the contract was not yet signed by the seller, nor was it signed with docusign, which is strange. In my previous experience in adopting a cat from a breeder he contract was already signed by the seller. When I requested a copy of the contract signed by the seller, the social media manager (who is the only person I was able to speak to during this time, not once had i been able to speak with the person who is the face of their page and the person i paid, alexandra toropova), she told me she sent it, and she did not. I re-requested for her to send it and if I don't get on email for her to send it to me via Instagram. This was ignored. We scheduled for a video chat, which we had via zoom. In this zoom call, it was me, their social media manager, and a Russian lady playing with the kitten. I was unable to see their face. It was only in this video chat that I had been informed that she is not in PA, and is in russia with WildBeautyCoons. She told me they have "multiple locations" and this is how they always have many kittens available. After the video chat, I had done some thinking as I was alarmed at them falsely advertising the kittens location. The next day, after thinking, I wanted to ask more questions and address some concerns about the matter in attempt to get some clarity and ease of mind. This was when I requested the copy of contract with sellers signature, I never recieved this. I asked for information on how she was able to come from the USA from Russia with such a low price ($2900) because in most cases, when you are adopting a kitten from EU, import fees are $2k+. I asked if I would be able to speak with alexandra because I found it odd that I have not seen or spoken to her once during this transaction. I asked who was with the kittens in russia. And I asked to see her pedigree, vet papers, and more pictures and information on the parents because at this point, while I was provided images, I have no idea who these cats are. Most breeders have proper information on all parents used in their program. There is absolutely no information on any cats in russia on their account, and the video the kitten i wanted, signed a contract for, and paid a deposit on (a white deaf kitten with blue eyes for $2900) was clearly advertised to be in PA. After asking these questions, they decided to refund my deposit instead of providing the extra information requested or answering my questions and wished me well, as in their words "it is very important to them that both parties are confortable during the transaction and i am showing uncertainty" and ignored any and all of my advances to try and talk with them after this. So many red flags here i would be extremely weary if looking to do business with these people.

The manager at the boarding and training facility has changed in the past year, and unfortunately, our experience under the new management was far below the standards we had previously expected. When we picked him up, he had diarrhea and arrived with a soiled behind -- yet we were never notified of any stomach issues during his stay. He also had a deep scratch across his nose, which we only noticed in the daily photos and had to point out to staff ourselves in order to get him proper care. When we submitted a review after his stay, staff claimed they had informed us about the scratch and that he hadn't had any stomach issues while in their care. Diarrhea is very evident with our white Samoyed, as his fur gets soiled and requires extra cleaning, so their claims felt like gaslighting rather than honest communication. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes or committing to improve, staff told us we were no longer welcome and even blocked our portal login. Their response was dismissive, unprofessional, and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability. For the health and safety of your dog, stay away from Opportunity Barks and their unethical, unprofessional behavior.
