I found Happy Hound via a Google search, and I could not be happier with the results of their…read moretraining. I have just recently finished a Happy Hound training program with my 14-month-old Poodle mix with Tara Siefring of the Happy Hound, and the difference in our stubborn little girl, Jackie, is like night and day. Jackie is not an aggressive dog, but she is quite hard-headed, and like most young, confident dogs, she wants to do what she wants to do. But after our first session with Tara, Jackie was already responding, and by the third week of training, I felt comfortable enough to take Jackie into the park near my home off-leash. Of course three weeks is not the whole story, and Jackie and I have a lot more work to do, but we are on the right path. And not only is she better behaved, but maybe even more important, I have a clearer idea of what it takes to lead her to better behavior. So Jackie and I have both learned a great deal about better behavior from Tara! Tara herself is knowledgeable, dedicated, and great to work with. She'll come to your house for private training, or board your dog for more intensive work. After your dog finishes a Happy Hound program successfully, Tara offers ongoing Saturday morning group sessions for socialization and learning new techniques/tricks. She also maintains a Facebook group for her clients, and her Happy Hound website is packed with all sorts of dog information. Our training involved the use of an electronic collar, but STOP! Don't go away because of that! These are not the scary "shock collars" from years ago. Tara had me hold the receiver unit in my hand before she ever put it on Jackie, and even at a setting of 20 (out of 100), I could barely feel a buzz. And that was MUCH lower than the setting we use for Jackie. Jackie has now learned that when the collar goes on, it's time for fun, so it is effective, but it's not a threat to her. So, if you have reservations about using an electronic collar, I hope you'll re-think your position and give it a try. You won't be sorry. It should be clear by now that I highly recommend Tara Siefring and the Happy Hound for your dog training needs! You and your dog will be happier for it!

We tried different training techniques, research, and after months of nothing truly addressing the aggressive - territorial behavior, we knew we needed help. She was scaring people when they would come into our home. Putting her in another room (even in her kennel which is her safe space) made her become destructive and worsened her anxiety. Lorenzo's training style is much more than just obedience. It is about training your dog to have confidence in you and to respect you as the leader. Daniel educated us about what was driving Piper's behavior, what her body language means and what she is communicating when she behaves a certain way. He was incredibly patient and thorough with his teaching to my husband and me. He explained everything to us and ensured we were comfortable and understanding of the training techniques. We saw improvement in Piper in just one session. We had three more sessions with Daniel before she boarded with him. Piper now is confident instead of anxious, listens readily, and is substantially less anxious/aggressive when people come into the house and they get to see how loving our Piper girl is. We have one more session with Daniel and we have already seen such a drastic and incredible improvement! The hardest part of the training is training ourselves to be consistent. Daniel truly made an incredible difference for her and taught us skills that will help keep Piper and others safe. Daniel has a deep passion and love for dogs, and we are so glad we worked with him!

I think Clark could have great potential if he would learn other ways besides what he calls the correction.

Cheryl was my Hail Mary, the last chance for my Last Chance dog adopted from a shelter. My dog trusted no one, including me. She snarled and growled at everyone, avoiding even loving pats. She hated riding in the car. Because of her behavior, I feared for my new born granddaughter. There was no hope....until I found Cheryl. Before Cheryl entered the house she had already begun instructions, which I followed. Within less than a half hour, my ferocious fearful dog was lying at her feet, then accepting pats and listening to instructions. It was a miracle! Cheryl easily ascertained that my puppy had been abused in her short life and had learned fear as her first reaction to people. By the end of our first session, this dog was responding to affection as well as establishing trust and response to commands. Thanks to Cheryl, my dog, is now my best buddy. She is happy, trusting, funny, playful and secure. In the last few months, things have really gone downhill, and it's gotten to the point where l'm going to take my business elsewhere. The only reasons I haven't done so are because I'm a VIPP, which gives me 3x the points due to my spending, and it's the closest location to me, making it convenient. Over the last few months, the customer service has been basically nonexistent. I place several orders online multiple times a week, and every time I arrive to pick them up, I have to wait and wait. I eventually end up walking inside to get my order because they never come out. Half the time, they can't find my order, even when it's clearly right in front of them. I've also been told they don't have my order or know where it is. Additionally, I've seen employees standing around when nobody's even in the store, while I'm waiting for them to bring my order to the car. They look clueless as to what's going on. When they are busy which is often they look like they're running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Why are 10 people in one line when the employees look to be chatting it up while the one cashier is clearly overwhelmed ? I believe the employee turnaround is the contributing factor with everything thats going on! They have new people who don't have a clue what's going on and some don't appear to even want to learn the job. It's basically the blind leading the blind! I completely understand there is a learning curve with any job but something needs to be done. Not to mention them giving me wrong items or the quality of the items. As I stated before I don't enjoy writing this review but it's gotten to the point where this needs to be addressed. I know I can't be the only one who's noticed a steady decline. When my husband has picked up orders for me recently even he has noticed and said something to me about it! I'd like to add he NEVER complains about anything! Do better Petsmart because you are losing my business and I'm sure many others are disappointed and dissatisfied. Also, thank you to the few employees who are amazing and go above and beyond.

The day we picked TDT, we were still not sure if we made the right decision or not. But at the end of our training session, we were extremely happy that we pickd TDT and had Devin as our trainer!! Devin came to my mother house for the consultation. It was amazing that he connected with Nefertiti right away. Devin explained to us what we would need for training (supplies) and how the sessions would go. This was extremely helpful for us to see and understand the process we all would experience. We asked him many questions during our sessions, and he answered all our questions very patiently until we understood them clearly. On the first day of training, we were pretty nervous because we didn't know how Nefertiti would react and if my mother could handle the process, but we didn't need to worry at all with Devin. Devin works very quickly and in an organized way. We were amazed how much Nefertiti changed in the first hour of our first session. Whenever we had concerns, Devin made efforts to resolve any issues right away and always gave us very quick response if we had any questions. He is very professional and a hard worker. We can't thank him enough!!

We decided at that time not to proceed with the training. The individual did not tell us at that time that we would be charged the full amount of the training if we changed our mind. We can understand paying the individual for coming to our home and maybe even a small cancellation fee, but not the full price for three weeks of training that never took place. We were later told that the contract said no refund. So, our mistake for not seeing that, but what a ripoff to charge that much money for no service provided. We are seniors and loosing that much money just because we did not feel comfortable with letting our Yorkie puppy be taken for 3-weeks and not letting us see him is an extremely hard pill to swallow. This is just to let anyone else interested in doing business with this company to be aware that the company does not give refunds, and makes no allowance if you change your mind.

We decided to go with A Hope, seeing as they are a no-kill establishment, and all pets are placed into great care in foster homes. We trusted this business, and we were not let down. The adoption process went very smooth for both of our little fur-babies. The animals stay in well-kept homes with wonderful foster parents until adoption. (I was almost worried that our little Finn would be upset that we took him from his awesome waterfront house! Brenda is a fantastic foster mom who gives the kittens plenty of clean space to roam, and lots of lovins and playtime. Finn LOVED his stay there.) I was also SO pleased to find out that all their cats are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and chipped prior to adoption - that saves us pet owners so much money! (Thank you, Brandi!) Upon taking him home, they gave us a little care package with Finn's favorite treats, toys, and even a blanket made by the local elementary students. He still plays with those toys and naps on that blanket to this day! A Hope also provided us with information and resources for taking care of our cat after his surgery, to ensure he stayed happy and healthy when taking him home. Currently we are waiting to pick up our newest family member, Saxophone. Again, like before, the process went incredibly smooth and we are beyond excited to meet Finn's sister. These people really do care about animals, and do so much for our community in rescuing / providing services for pets. Thank you so much, Brandi and the team (and the foster parents!) for helping these babies find their forever homes!
