We happened across Paws On The Run by chance and decided to call as we've been looking for dog sitting services. We spoke with both Paulette and Debe who are the business owners and Paulette was primarily in on our Sasha most of the days of your vacation. The ladies are very pleasant and courteous on the phone and in person. They were busy but agreed to meet with me after hours at my house. Both Paulette and a helper came to the house to meet Sasha. Paulette explained her services thoroughly; how she started; referral lists, credentials, pricing, etc. Their "menu" consists of walking, sitting, feeding, social time, etc. Visit their website for a complete list. What I like the most was the personal service of bringing in the mail, turning on/off lights for "presence"; pictures of pet, notes of each day's visits. They came out morning and evening for the designed service. I feel I received a valuable service for the price. The only hurdle I had was ensuring my wife was comfortable with POTR in the house while away. Our old dog sitter had informed us that he was leaving and wouldn't be able to babysit our dogs for the following month that we were going on vacation, which I panicked because finding a good dog sitter in such short time, I thought would be impossible. After a bad experience with a pet sitter who accidentally left one of our cats closed in a bedroom for 3 days with no food, water, or litter box, we desperately needed a new sitter. Enter Paulette and Nancy, who were absolutely perfect. During the sit we received texts with pictures and updates, and we returned home to find relaxed and happy cats, as well as a little journal detailing each visit. Our cats, especially our diabetic Ulysses who needs twice daily injections, are typically very shy with strangers. AND, when we are at the dog park, Rogue instantly knows when Paulette's CAR pulls up to the park with another charge in tow, and will make a beeline for the entrance to greet her and give her love. We needed twice daily visits for our two young (1 and 2 years old) indoor only cats. Pawlette and Becky came over to meet them, see the layout and talk about the schedule for the two and a half days we would be gone. Pawlette did a nice job of explaining how they run their business while Becky got acquainted with the cats. The first day we were gone Becky sent a photo of the cats so we could see they were doing well and that she had visited. Being the first time we had used Paws on the Run, this was very reassuring. We had an additional complication in that we were having a remodeling contractor come in on the third day and the cats needed to be confined to their room in the morning and released the afternoon. We were completely happy with the job Becky did of caring for the cats and making sure they didn't get involved in with the contractor. I am not one to place many reviews, however Paws On The Run deserves all the accolades and more. My wife has a gift of finding all the right things for our miniature pinscher Memphis and in this case she found The Best thing. The first initial meet and greet not only helped our insecurities, but also helped us get to know that they are not just an every day dog walker. I truly believe they are special and have displayed it with our Memphis. To further explain, let me provide a bit of back story. Since the day we brought Memphis home, we knew that training would be a must. If you are familiar with min pins you know they are not the easiest to train. We have gone through some training, however because he was so little at the time and my wife was pregnant rewarding him with treats became difficult. Now, I know what some people can say "why don't I maintain the training?" Well, let's just say one person pampers Memphis more than the other and he knows it and gets away with it. That being said, we settled with the thought that with some training and Memphis just being a good dog, we were fine. He never sat, rolled over, played dead, or anything thing else, but overhaul he is obedient. Then, we met Paulette and Terry. They changed him and us. My dog sits on command, lays down, and he is walking better with us. Although he still pulls on the leash, he knows that he has to be close by. They got him doing all this in a matter of a few days within the time limits we asked. All I have to say is, Thanks Memphis for making us look bad! Now we just have to resist spoiling him and keep up their routine. I don't know many dog walkers nor did we interview a lot, but I cannot express how grateful we are and how special they are to Memphis. Confession: I used to think that people who raved about how much their dogs LOVED their dog walkers were silly. Of course the dogs love them, their sole purpose in the dog's life is to take them out to play! Paw-lette is great and really knows her stuff. She really cares about animals which, I think, is the most important thing when looking for someone to take care of your four-legged babies while you are away. My boyfriend and I have two cats that she looked after while we went on vacation for a week. She fed them every day and scooped their litter boxes, and she even fed our fish and got the mail for us. She and her staff took care of my puppy "Layla" while I was a work for the long 12 hour shifts, I was gone from my house for up to 15 hours and Layla was just 8 weeks old. Can't say enough about how incredible Paws On The Run has been. Our dog is very afraid of people, and I have never seen him warm up as quickly to anyone as he did Paulette. We had them walk him 3 times a week so that he could get some exercise while we were at work, and Paulette even offered to train him. They really did a phenomenal job working with him - we've had several trainers for him in the past, but Paulette and her crew made the most progress with him by far. We've gone out of town four or five times and it's nice not having to find a friend or family member willing to take care of the animals. They are friendly and courteous.
