I've used their service for at least 20 years. Why they have no record of me or my past five cats, is beyond me. I called to ask if they could assist with me tick removal, (vision issues, first time needing help) and I was told by a man who i believed to be the Dr. told me in the gruffest manner ever I could just kill them myself, just pull them off & go buy a collar. The most unprofessional response, I ever heard. He eventually hung up on me when he could not confirm I was client. But I got the much needed assistance I needed, from Pet Supplies + in Hamilton when purchasing a collar. They offered their help, I was told to bring my cat right in.. Best store ever. read more

We were clients of Paws and Claws when it belonged to Dr. Johnson and felt it was convenient to continue services for our two dogs. We regret that decision immensely after this week. Dr. Johnson built a very strong relationship with us because of her amazing professionalism and caring/kind demeanor. She really connected with her patients and their fur parents. When she left, we noticed a total change. Dr. Levine is not Dr. Johnson in any sense. The lack of empathy and professionalism that my husband and I received after trying to address an issue with Dr. Levine is sickening. My husband brought in one of our dogs for a breathing issue in late October. Our dog was given a cortisone shot and chest X-rays (xrays were clear). During the visit, the vet tech noticed a small growth on our dog's head. My husband was asked to bring our dog back for a biopsy on Nov 4th. A biopsy was done. Results were allegedly communicated to my husband via phone on November 7th. My husband advised Dr. Levine stated "no cancerous cells were found." However, we should continue to monitor the growth for changes. Our dog continued to have a breathing issue that we took him to the hospital for on Nov 2nd bc we did not feel the cortisone shot brought any relief after the vet visit with Dr. Levine in late October. He received prednisone from the hospital. I received a call from Dr. Levine on Nov 3rd and he scolded me for bringing my dog to the hospital after he had already given him the cortisone shot. He didn't ask how about our dog's condition at all. He wanted to know why the hospital called to request record, which we found out he never sent. That was the first time I realized he lacked professionalism, empathy and sympathy! As time passed, we noticed our dog's breathing issue worsened and the growth on his head became larger. So, my husband went back to Dr. Levine on Dec 29th. I was FaceTimed during the visit. Dr. Levine advised that the growth didn't look good and he believed it was cancerous. I immediately started to ask questions about the biopsy. He stated the biopsy showed atypical cells, but maybe there was an issue with the biopsy that didn't catch the issue at hand. I advised that I was confused how we received information that said there was no cancer noted previously. Now, we are being told the growth is cancerous. Dr. Levine said he spoke to my husband and gave him all of the information via phone. When I advised I was not aware of the fact the cells were atypical and there was an additional issue outstanding, he raised his voice and began to blame me for not calling to speak with him. I told him it was his responsibility to communicate properly with his patients as the doctor. He should have sent a written report or followed up in written format, which is appropriate. Apparently, Dr. Levine recognized his error bc I received an email yesterday, 12/30 outlining the alleged details he discussed with my husband with the verbiage that he claims was included in the biopsy report. Well, that email was VERY LATE and only infuriated me since he chose to continue pointing the finger at my husband claiming they had a a detailed conversation. The email was clearly a "cover-up" at this point for the lack of information or misinformation provided. We had an appointment with MTL Animal Hospital for additional testing yesterday and are praying that there is a treatment plan that can help him. Needlessly to say, neither one of our dogs will ever see Paws and Claws or Dr. Levine ever again. I can only hope that no one else has a similar story or experience with him or his office. - I'm sure he will respond to THIS review in a similar manner as he has to all of the other one star reviews. Please note his inability to accept accountability, his lack of professionalism and the crassness in his responses. His true character shines through in every response. read more

We first started seeing Dr. Levine when my parents and I got our dog, Kahlúa. He has always been professional, knowledgeable, and great about explaining what we should do to keep her healthy and safe. When I moved out and my boyfriend and I got our puppy, Scottie, I knew right away that I wanted to bring her to Dr. Levine too. He truly knows his stuff and always goes above and beyond--whether it's working us into his schedule or quickly replying to emails with helpful advice. Levine is a rude, ignorant person with little to no regard for the people he converses with or the animals he treats. Very emotionally unstable, unkind, entitled, and narcissistic. There are plenty of other animal hospitals nearby that will be much kinder and more professional, take better care of your fur babies, and will actually treat you with respect instead of arrogant indifference and pathetic inferiority complexes. I recommend Colombus Central Veterinary Hospital, Mount Laurel Animal Hospital, and/or Yardville Animal Hospital. They're all very kind and respectful and give an overall much better and less stressful experience, especially when all you should have to be worried about is your pet's health. read more

Unfortunately, our first visit to Paws n Claws was to take our 19 yr. old cat to get euthanized due to old age and poor health. They were very compassionate, helpful, and accommodating. We had a good experience in a tough situation so when we rescued a 16 yr. old cat whose parents had passed away we naturally thought to take him to Dr. Sharon Johnson. Once again the Vet and her staff were very helpful and very accommodating. My husband and I both work during the week and they have been able to get us in on short notice and at an "after hours" time. With a cat that is 16 yrs. old (88 yrs. old in cat years) we were bound to have issues, and some that have popped up unexpectedly. We have never been told that they could not fit us in and I really appreciate that. I would recommend Paws n Claws and Dr. Johnson to anyone with fur babies. read more

Horrible experience. If I could give no stars I would. Dr. Levine treated my dog and I poorly. In fact he refused to treat my dog. He never introduced himself (first and last visit), he was just a nasty, unprofessional, uncompassionate person. Emptied whole tray of instruments in anger onto counter then used unsterilized instrument on my dog. Yelled at me to leave for no reason. I feel very sorry for his staff, who were very professional, as I'm sure he is abusive to them as I witnessed it during my visit. read more

We had our 15 year old miniature dachshund euthanized in July of this year. We paid to have the Dr and nurse come to our home to perform the procedure. Dr Johnson was an amazing veterinarian! The practice was sold and I was not informed that there would be new ownership until I bought my pet in for vaccinations. The staff is very nice and professional however I've noticed changes with this practice since it has switched over. The main focus seems to be on money instead of the well being of the animals. My dog is ESA registered and is allowed to travel with me. I am active duty military and am required to travel a lot sometimes with little notice. I needed a verification form signed, just ensuring that my puppy is current on his rabies shot. The dog is healthy and showed no signs of illness whatsoever (or else I would have bought him in for treatment) Dr Levine refused to sign the form stating that my puppy received a rabies vaccination only 7 months earlier without me bringing him in and paying for an office examination. He instead felt the need to lecture me and inquire as to why I waited until the "last minute" to have this form filled out. I had a sick relative and needed to leave town under short notice and was unaware that the airline needed an additional form filled out to verify rabies vaccination. He asked me why I didn't bring him to a vet located on base instead of asking him to fill out the document. Why would I bring him to a different doctor when the vaccine was administered by Dr Levine himself. The form only requested the date the vaccine was given and a signature, and he refused to fill it out without me bringing him in for an office visit. Mind you, I have a 3 year old healthy dog with no prior medical issues. There would be no additional stress on the dog because since he is an ESA he is allowed to sit on my lap and accompany me through the entire hour and a half flight. Even after explaining all of this he still refused. I had to get the actual rabies certificate and pray that was sufficient enough to allow my pet to travel with me. He is up to date with all of his shots so something as simple as a verification was made into a big deal because he wanted me to pay a full exam fee in order for him to fill out two lines on a form. read more

This Vet office is unprofessional and uncaring. They turned away a dying animal because they don't take walk-ins which is NOT stated on their website. The recepionist was polite when we came in, stating they didn't take walk-ins. We politely said okay & turned to leave. However. she stated she would asked the vet to take an emergency as we were at the door. The doctor made it a point to walk out of the back office to rudely point out " he had a obligation to his patients that actually made an appointment" and walked off with an attitude. I understand if a business has a policy to not take walk-ins. My issue is callous indifference this vet has regarding pet emergencies. Not only was the Vet rude but they didn't refer us to another facility for emergency care. Ultimately, my cat had suffered a stoke. She was near death by the time we made it to another vet hospital & had to be euthanized. Avoid this place because this Vet is only it for a paycheck and doesn't care about the animals unless you make an appointment first. read more

Used this clinic today (New Years eve) for our cat Chloe, she was suffering from a watery eye for over a week and we it was time to have it looked at. The facility was warm and inviting in appearance, it had a great deal of character about it and exhibited the taste of an animal lover. We were seen to right upon arrival by the nurse who was very courteous and professional. Shortly thereafter we were attended to by the vet on shift who was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and experienced. He displayed a good bed side manner with both us and the cat and provided an extensive course of treatment options. Based on previous experiences with other vets it was refreshing that we started with the option least traumatic to the Cat and not the most lucrative for the practice. We left knowing that our pet had been taken care of and that we were in very good hands. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. read more

Excellent doctors! They are very caring and understanding! Very personable. One of the desk staff isn't too friendly. but that won't keep me away. The appearance of the offices are more on the homie side. Which is perfectly fine. The area the animals have to be examine is cleaned. Dr. Johnson is an awesome person. When doctor Johnson was there, it was such a warm appearance. I was so happy taking my dog and cat there. But now that it is under new ownership, and doctor Levie ( i think that's how you spell it). I highly recommend you finding a new vet and not taking your pets here. We took my dog in last week because she was acting really weird and not herself. We were told that it could possibly be this or that. Took an X-ray of her, took blood work. Never showed us any of it. Now a week later we are rushing her to an 24 hour animal hospital for rapid breathing to later for what is possible the thing that was wrong with her when we took her to paws and claws. The puss built up by paws and claws not doing anything. We had to put her down because of his malpractice. Thank YOU Dr. Levine!!!!!! I was FINALLY able to sleep more than 1 hour straight time last night. Luke has a rare disorder called diabetes insipidus also known as water diadetes.(Diabetes insipidus (DI) is a rare disorder that affects water metabolism, preventing the body from conserving water and releasing too much of it. This condition is characterized by increased urination, dilute urine (so-called insipid, or dull urine), and increased thirst and drinking) Dr. Levine figured out the problem and last night I received Lukes meds from Utah. I gave him the meds at 10 PM and he only woke up once to go out. NO accidents in the house and he ate this morning! Luke has only eaten twice in the last 9 days because he has been so full from water. He has also gained quit a bit of water weight. I'm praying these meds turn all of this around and my boy feels better! So far so good! We have been going to Dr. Johnson's office for the past few years and she is amazing! We had a very sick dog named Comet, and she helped get him through and stabilize him so that we can get him to the hospital. She gave us another 3 years with him. When we had to put our Comet to sleep, she as well as her staff were so caring and attentive to us. We still bring our dogs to her. She is knowledgeable, personable and a great Veterinarian. I want to start by saying that for the first year of using Paws 'N Claws, I loved them. The services were affordable and Dr. Johnson seems to really care about the animals. A few weeks prior to the last time I set foot in the office, my husband brought in 2 of our cats for their rabies vaccinations. No big deal. They had mistakenly only charged for one (a fact which I discovered later. The last time I was there, I brought in my dog for kennel cough she caught from a foster dog. They were helpful at the exam and gave me all the instructions for the meds. At check out, I received my total. Then the miserable, unprofessional woman at the counter says oops, your cat wasn't paid for at the last visit so that needs to be added. I didn't have enough for both because I didn't know they had mistakenly left off a bill last time (their error, not mine). I asked if I could pay most, and the rest within the week (a courtesy they had extended once in another extenuating circumstance). I was told all bills have to be paid at time of service. I get that, but explained that the error on the last bill was their fault. That didn't matter, and it had to be paid right away in full. The woman went in the back to check with the vet. The vet would not enough tell me to my face, made this already miserable woman come out to say that not only could they not extend the courtesy, but my sick dog could not have her medication until they were paid in full. I will NEVER go to this vet again. I brought my sick cat all the way out to Hamilton because I can no longer trust that the animals are their #1 priority. read more
