I really appreciated the openness they have about the facilities, they have scheduled interviews with new dogs and owners where the walk the grounds with you. This is very different than my previous daycare where I was not allowed in the back areas. The workers there absolutely adore the dogs, and my dog adores them too. There are some days where he sees me at pickup and turns around the other way to go back in. I do think this type of daycare, due to the amount of dogs, requires certain temperments. I could see some dogs getting overwhelmed/stressed. My dog's favorite activity is following other people/animals or getting them to chase him, so this environment works well for him. He still does get some times to rest however. Another thing that is great is that they have a live cam for both small dog area and the large dog area. That paired with the photos they post on social media i's helpful for me to ensure my dog still seems to be having a good time. He always has his tail up and looking happy so it seems good for me. The biggest gripe I have is that 80% of the time when he comes back he stinks really terribly.

A week later she called me while I was at work saying she had spoken with my landlord and that my apartment did not allow pets. I was quite confused because I had never heard of the woman she had spoken to, and I had asked her to put my application on hold and was now midway into adopting a dog elsewhere. I tried to calmly get to the bottom of the miscommunication, reminding her that I had sent her written proof of my pet policy over email, and that this was not my landlord she had spoken to. I suggested maybe it was a wrong number, or a new employee at the leasing office. She snapped at me "Would you just be quiet and let me talk!" At this point I told her to withdraw any of my information from her system, and never contact me again. I called my landlord and she said she had never spoken to Linda. This strange miscommunication should never have happened, as I had already requested my application be put on hold. It also could easily have been resolved if Linda had listened to me and conducted herself with professionalism. I am so happy I will be picking up my dog tomorrow from a more professional shelter. For these reasons I can unfortunately not recommend this shelter. But please, adopt (elsewhere) don't shop!

Linda and Ed are marvelous, honest, and very hard working and really care with a massive heart about what they do. They are strict about requirements to adopt from them. That is only because they want to do their very best to make sure any adopted dog is in the safest hands possible and that potential adopters are fully prepared and able to take the best care possible of any dog they may adopt. It is a lot about the dog and minimizing return to shelter situations. They really do dig deep into potential adopters, again this to make sure any adopted dog will be safe. Linda and Ed have made Gerties Small Dog Rescue their life, they have an excellent track record and are well respected in the community as well as within animal and rescue circles.

This is FALSE. A male receptionist on the phone began yelling at me disrespectfully because I stated this and said all that mumbo jumbo wasn't necessary. He called ME disrespectful when THEY all have been lying to me for months and delaying a surgery to help my Maia BREATHE. Then there are doctors for whom your pet represents a bottom line - nothing more. I have just had my first miserable experience ever, with the latter type of vet. A vet so profoundly uncaring, and unprofessional - she stormed out of the exam room, even before doing an exam, because she found out that I wasn't interested in buying any medications. On October 31st, 2024, from the start of my Australian Shepherds health check-up, all 'Dr. Jill' wanted to talk about were medications.. 'Was my dog UTD on his shots?'.. Was I using Bravecto for ticks and fleas?.. (They promote Bravecto).. 'Was I using heartworm and other worm preventatives?' When I explained, (or tried to) that Australian Shepherds are sensitive to meds, and I had lost 2 Aussies to vaccines, (not to mention family members whose dogs contracted cancers, and/or epilepsy from Bravecto).. she didn't want to hear it. Her next words told the whole story - "SO WHAT DID YOU COME HERE FOR"? I was taken aback, and said simply - 'For an exam'. For 50 years I have raised and trained prize Australian Shepherds with natural foods and herbal medicines with excellent results, my healthy animals living out a long life. But the downside of routine good health is a lack of experience recognizing what might be illness! So, we have the occasional visit to a 'professional' for answers. It happened that in October, Fayetteville Vet Hospital recently sent us a reminder that it was 'time for Molly's checkup', So, I made the appointment for my male, who had been scratching a lot lately. Not 4 minutes into the 'exam' - it came to a crashing halt after a short conversation with the young inexperienced veterinarian. Dr. Jill, upon gathering my objection to meds - STORMED OUT OF THE EXAM ROOM -SLAMMING THE DOOR!... while I was yet talking to her... completely 'cur-tailing' the appointment. (no pun intended). No eye exam, no ear check, no heart listening to, no discussion of my dogs condition, (other than telling me he had worms, which information was already paid for by the fecal exam fee.) I walked in a daze to the desk, where the attendant chirped.. 'That will be JUST seventy five dollars today'. With an emphasis on 'just'.. He seemed surprised at the low cost of the 'exam'. (Later, it occurred to me- that was because my visit didn't include FVH's typical bill increases from drug prescriptions.) I went home shocked. It doesn't matter how anyone feels about Bravecto or the rest of the vet prescription drugs; Or that my own experience with them has been a disaster (Caleb and Marshall, the dogs in the photos were both killed by vet prescribed meds) Or that there is an entire social media site called 'Does Bravecto Kill dogs'.. The point is that a pet owner should have the right to determine what they wish to give to their pet, without the doctor going ballistic and kicking them out of the clinic. IN FACT, within 48 hours of that appointment, I received a letter from Dr. Bunnell, the owner of FVH (Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital) - EVICTING ME from their customer base.. based on nothing more than my refusal to buy medications at the appointment 2 days before. At that point I had yet to write to him (I did after that), and had yet to voice a complaint.. But, after receiving the very cold eviction letter - I did write to the owner, but never got a reply. So I called him and tried to explain my concerns about medications,.. he cut me off and told me that "I' WASN'T listening." No.. Dr. Brunell. It is you and doctors like you that are not listening. Some of us are sick and tired of seeing our loved ones, both 4 and 2 legged, get sick, and even die, because of prescription medicines. The best veterinarians I have known, have been naturopathic. THEY LISTEN to their patients.. And their bottom line is FINE. They wind up with customers traveling great distances for the possibility of finally finding a vet that will HEAR their concerns. Dr. Brunell refused to refund me for the 'exam' that wasn't. Again, showing what they care about.. And it isn't your pet.

I wasn't sure I was going to write this review but I just wanted potential boarders to have all the…read moreinfo. We did day care for years at this location without a single incident but as far as grooming and boarding those are another story. The first time I tried to get my dog groomed there as a puppy I was told she wad too aggressive and she needed sedatives to be groomed and though they didn't groom her they still charged me. For perspective she now goes to a groomer with no sedation and has no problem. I just kind of figured this was a one off or a personality issue then we boarded her for the first time. She came home with a hacking cough and we rushed her to the emergency vet. After 8 hours and $500 she was diagnosed with kennel cough and we were instructed to let the facility she was staying at know. When I did that they said well she didn't get it here. I advised them she had not been around any other dogs and the er said to notify the facility so other owners could take precaution. They still didn't believe me and never notified other boarders. We didn't board for three or four years after that but when we lost our dog sitter close to a vacation we decided to try again since a lot of time had passed. About three days after we picked her up I noticed her licking a spot on her leg so I looked at it and found a hole. A red wound that the inside looked like a puncture. My dog is very fluffy and I didn't know how long it had been there. I made an appointment with the vet and reached out asking if anything had happened while she was at boarding. I wasn't rude, accusatory, or asking for a refund but I knew the vet would ask so I figured I would get ahead of it. The owner responded very defensively saying they do a full inspection and watch the dogs 24/7 so nothing could have happened and to let her know what the vet said. The vet said it was likely a cyst that ruptured and looked like it had been open for a while. She was given antibiotics and I let the boarder know again not accusing them of anything or asking for a refund. She again came back very defensively and said she did not feel comfortable caring for my dog again. I was so taken aback as we had done day care loyally for years and never accused any one of anything but had the right to ask questions. I had about 5 day care days and 3 boarding days left on my account. I told her fine if she feels that way then she can refund the days on my account. That was on 4/11 and it took three more emails and almost a month for her to actually mail me the refund.

Dr Nichols uses DIRTY NEEDLES…read more My amazing vet passed away who cared for my pets for 25+ years. so I chose Dr Nichols to try for my dogs moving forward. During my first visit he lifted my 75lb lab up on to his exam table by her leash - I should have known then this was not the vet for us. He proceeded to give her spring shots & I thought I had observed him cleaning a used needle with rubbing alcohol but thought no way this couldn't be happening . Right who does this ? Second visit she needed a shot & again I observed him turn to his bottle of rubbing alcohol ,he pumped a few pumps into a cotton ball , grabbed the small vile of vaccine to which the needle was clearly stored in it , he took out the needle , rubbed it generously with alcohol , stuck it back in the vile ,drew up the med & gave my dog a shot. A shot using a dirty used not sterile needle !!! I Couldn't believe this I was shocked I called him the next day - he returned my call & I asked him "did you use a dirty needle on my dog yesterday " ? He replied " yes I use them more than once I've been doing it this way for years it's no different than poking through your dogs dirty skin & hair . I rinse them in water then with alcohol " . I'm in total disbelief at this point & I asked how do clients get a clean needle he said " well you have to request one" I repeated if we want a clean sterile new needle for our animals shots we need to request one he replied "yes" . He then asked me if there was anything wrong with my dog - I said well I've been at work all morning , I am not a Dr so I'm not entirely sure . He said " well if there's something wrong with your dog bring her back & I'll fix her for free. Oh hell no I'll never step foot in this filthy dump ever again. Shame on those working there who know this happens with every single animal & doesn't speak up - you are just as much at fault ! Speak up this is wrong WOW just wow If you take your fur babies to Nichols in Skaneateles I strongly urge you to try to find a vet that doesn't run their practice this way , one who offers clean new sterile needles for your animals . & one who cares about animals . Lord only knows what happens behind his closed doors in surgery . If your questioning my experience & are I. Just as much disbelief as I was go ahead & call him , ask him if he uses new needles for every vaccine on your animal , ask him if your baby was stuck with a used needle . Go ahead & ask him .

When our 10-year-old Goldendoodle, Franklin, became very sick, Dr. Prosser stepped in to help my family navigate one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. His kindness, patience, and genuine compassion made an unbearable situation just a little easier. Today, he cares for my black cat, Reggie, who is happy and healthy thanks to his excellent care. Knowing my pets are in such capable and caring hands gives me complete peace of mind.
