I don't shop at Aquarium World often, but I am so thankful for their knowledge and expertise. They…read morehave helped us with problems ranging from an axolotl that needed a new home to an old goldfish with serious swim bladder issues. They never "gate keep" their knowledge or make you feel bad for making some mistakes with proper fish care. They teach you how to do better.

I had a pretty disappointing experience at Aquarium World recently. I returned a few cheaper fish I…read morehad purchased earlier and opted for store credit so I could upgrade to some different species that cost more. That part seemed straightforward at first, but the process quickly became frustrating. When I used the store credit to buy the new fish, the employees working that day--who appeared to be new--started explaining that if the new fish died, I wouldn't be able to return them. What made this especially frustrating is that this policy was only explained to me after I had already paid for the fish. If that had been clearly stated beforehand, I would have appreciated the chance to reconsider the purchase. The new fish were completely different species from the ones I originally returned, and I actually spent additional money beyond the store credit to buy them, so it felt odd to only hear about this restriction once the transaction was already finished. What made things worse was how long the checkout process took. The employees seemed to struggle with basic math when trying to calculate how much store credit to apply and how much change I was owed after the new purchase. It took several minutes and multiple attempts before they finally figured out the numbers, which made the whole interaction feel unprofessional and awkward. Overall, the experience left me with little confidence in the staff's training and customer service. I understand that new employees need time to learn, but the combination of confusing return explanations, being told important policy details only after paying, and difficulty with simple calculations made the visit frustrating. I hope management invests more in training so future customers don't have to deal with the same issues.

1/5 on the fish side of the store. The store manager with blonde hair and stretched ears makes crap…read moreup on the fly just to make a sale. My dad took me here for a B-day gift of a fish. The manager pointed out the most expensive freshwater small (for now) fish, an electric blue jack Dempsy ($35) and said it was a great starter fish, that it's fine in a 20-gallon tall tank, and would be great partners with a school of glo-tetras. Well as expected they killed him not a day later. Turns out this fish is aggressive and gets up to 8 inches which needs a MUCH bigger tank. Returning fish is sketchy at best here. You need to bring in water and the dead fish, which I understand. They then take it back behind the tanks to run the tests, so who knows what is being said in regards to how your water is testing. I wouldn't trust if the blonde guy would do it because he's said such untrue info on fish to me before. If you try to contest or argue that you want to see it they say they cant bring it out. This has happened several times, to the point where I'm done. Which is a shame. They have a decent collection of fish there, and the GM Doug is super nice. Sadly I'm pretty sure he is one of two nice people there. The rest just don't seem to care.

It cost me over $8 after tax and I get home to see there is only 26 worms in the container. Not only is there 26 when I payed for 50 but three are dead. So out of a 50 count I got 23 worms my lizards will be able to eat. Very upset to see this.

When I brought her in, the groomer I scheduled with was not there, but I figured scheduling issues happen so no biggie. When they called me to come pick her up, they didn't even know my dog's name, but again, kinda small, just annoying. I come to get her and none of the extra services were performed, so I basically paid $35 extra for nothing. Her teeth and ears still needed to be done so I did them at home. Her nails were only cut, not filed, and one of was split, so I'm trying to figure out how to fix it without hurting her. Lastly, I had to ask for the bandana and coupons, which was kind of embarrassing because it seems like such a small thing, but I had paid for it. To sum it up, we will not be returning to this location for grooming. Terrible service.

It was his first haircut and she was able to get him through a full cut. The only complaints are with the customer service. I never met Mariah. When I dropped Opie off, there were two people at the front desk. Neither acknowledged me for several minutes. One left without a word. Then a groomer, Erica, came out with a dog she was grooming, got it all situated to resume. The girl at the front desk told her she was busy. So Erica took the dog back to the kennels and came out to check us in. Erica was great, so friendly and helpful. Without her we may still be waiting there for help.
