The assistance manager told me I couldn't purchase a gun because I have violent misdemeanor. I told them it wasn't domestic related he still refused to sell me a gun. In the Montana state law says. Montana law restricts firearm possession primarily for people convicted of certain violent or weapon-related felonies, or those on probation or parole. A standard misdemeanor battery or assault conviction does not automatically take away your basic state gun rights. And Non-Domestic Cases: Federal law generally only bans firearm purchases or possession for felony convictions, domestic violence misdemeanors, or other specific federal disqualifiers. A standard, non-domestic misdemeanor simple battery usually does not trigger a federal ban. These guys need to learn the law. They have awful customer service the assistance manager embarrassed me in front of other customers.

The owner or salesman is very helpful and helped my boys choose some great rocks they even have a neat section in the back that displays UV and fluorescent rocks and minerals. It is really cool. I could do without The awkward pagan stuff. It's just weird and kind of creeps me out. I appreciate various cultures and experiences, but never quite understood the link between rocks and minerals and aging Karens with their crystals and dreamcatchers who wish with all their being that they would be invited to be an honorary member of a Native American tribe.

It's not a polished place, but that's why I like it. The employees are laid back and helpful. They're not going to wine and dine you to buy something, but they're down to earth and seem like people you'd go skiing with or whatever choice recreational activity. If you're looking for "vintage" Patagucci to drive up to Hyalite, walk ten steps from the car and take #adventure shots for your instagram feed and head back to town, then you'll probably find some sweet duds here for that. AND, if you're actually going further than your car, you'll find great used gear that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Okay, this is a longer one but as an avid thrifter and experienced (and fair) reseller myself, I…read morethink that this place necessitates a particular conversation. My thoughts- I've stopped into Second Wind a few times over the years in search of gear/clothing for personal use, but have consistently walked away disappointed if not empty-handed because their pricing is exorbitant and stupidly inflated, and I have no shame in using that sort of verbiage. An example from today that caught me so off guard I did some research, subsequently leading me to writing this review- a heavily used & visibly stained/faded Patagonia vest listed at $115, which is $16 less than the retail price on Patagonia's own website ($131). In my opinion and personal experience, this is not an isolated case- a lot of their merchandise is significantly worn, sometimes even dirty, and still priced like it's barely been used. While I did find and purchase a cute pair of pants that were reasonably priced and in good shape today, it unfortunately doesn't negate the general pattern of overpricing. Selling gear in highly used and rough condition for near-retail prices undermines the whole point of secondhand shopping and if we're being honest, many locals have access to outdoor industry discounts that include the benefit of full warranties. Trying to resell deeply used gear at near-retail prices just feels exploitative in that context. Even online secondhand platforms like Depop tend to be far more equitably priced and transparent about quality. I'm all for supporting secondhand and local businesses, but not when it starts to feel greedy and borderline shady. Pricing like this erodes trust and defeats the purpose of resale. There are more transparent, affordable, and community-minded options out there-- please shop around.
