It looks like there is just the one guy with glasses that works at this location and thats so unfortunate because pawn chicago has a lot of awesome stuff in each store that most people would definitely think twice on if they should buy something or not. But dont worry because to make things easy i'd suggest to completely avoid their store on lawrence entirely especially if you would be going out of your way in the slightest since the apparent one and employe here take the word lazy to the next level. No matter the time of day the guy acts as if he just made it through a triathlon in world record breaking time ontop of then having to lower himself down to deal with regular lower life simpletons like myself. So long story short, the guy is a lazy prick who clearly thinks he is too good to be bothered by us common folk. This location sucks. Dont waste your time, be smart, go elsewhere. read more

This is seriously the coolest pawn shop in Chicago. It's selection of both modern vintage toys, statues and modern action figures and collectibles is extensive! The deals are great and their electronic, tool and music selection is also cool! The staff is super friendly! This is definitely the only pawn shop I will make time to return to every couple months at the latest. read more

I went to Pawns Chicago a few weeks ago and was really impressed. I chose this pawn shop because it was the only one on google and yelp with five stars and after my visit I understand why. When you walk inside you do not get the feel of being in a traditional pawn shop. It's very clean and well organized. Oliver and another gentleman whose name I can't remember assisted me during my visit. They were very kind and patience while explaining the process of how their store works. Although I was taken care of by these two gentlemen, I also met the rest of the staff in the building. They all came out to introduced themselves and say "hi". After my visit I received a call from the store manager thanking me for being a customer at their shop. I thought that was extremely kind of her to take time and contact me. I would definitely recommend this pawn shop and plan to do business again with them in the future. read more

EZ, Welcoming, Professional, Helpful I've never been in a pawn shop in my life. Upon entering, a lady greeted me. She was very welcoming, professional and helpful. Her name is Marguerite. She extended her hand and shook my hand and introduced herself. She made me feel very comfortable (I was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect). We proceeded with our business transaction. I brought in a brand new Bissell steamer (for hardwood floors and tiles). It was in its original box (box was never opened before). I wasn't sure if I could sell this item or not. It was an older model from 1 year ago. Even though it was brand new they did not purchase this item. I appreciated their honesty. She explained the process of how they do business. That is, how their pawn shop works, which I appreciated. They purchased the guitar for only $40 (I was hoping to get more $$). I remember I had a 14-karat gold snake chain necklace doubled up and wrapped around my ankle. I removed it and asked her "what is this worth?" I wondered how much I would get for the necklace (especially since gold has gone way up). She said, "$60." Although I knew it was worth more I took the cash. My goal that day was to make $150, but I walked out with only $100. I needed to make $100 to pay off a speeding ticket. I didn't want my husband to find out I got a speeding ticket. LOL -- EZ come, EZ go! I used the $100 to pay my ticket. I had expectations of a pawn shop being sleazy, dirty, garish, & grimy. This pawn shop is clean, bright, well organized and has a variety of items. For example, collectibles, guitars, jewelry, watches, and so many other items. I appreciated that a young man who works at the pawn shop showed me what my guitar is selling for on eBay. That is, the "Asking Price" for the guitar. I found them to be very honest and transparent. The guitar did NOT show it "Sold" on eBay. I feel like I was low-balled on the guitar. I wasn't going to haggle with them to give me more $$ (plus, I donated a new case). They provided good facts and made the transaction very easy for me. Considering I am a 1st time pawn shop customer I appreciated ALL the information they provided. You provide them with your driver's license. They asked me, upfront, if I wanted a loan or if I was there to sell. I said, "I am interested in selling these items. I do not want or need a loan." The transaction was done in a small private room behind a glass door and glass windows. MARGUERITE was very helpful, professional and made my experience easy. I ended up giving away the Bissell floor steam cleaner to a CTA Bus Driver who was inside the pawn shop. The reason for my 4 rating is because they do not have a parking lot. The staff at this pawn store is very professional and nice, it is always a pleasant shopping experience. I am only interested in buying jewelry and let me tell you a pawn shop is the place to go! They have gotten more of a selection lately and the prices can not be beat, no way will I ever pay full price again from a jewelry store, the markup is insane. I have looked for jewelry at a few other pawn shops and they have felt sleazy, but definitely not pawn Chicago. Go! UPDATE I finally found a piece of jewelry that i loved and bought it! The employees are still very friendly and the prices are super fair. I did try on a more expensive pair of earrings that didn't look as nice and the employee told me the truth and didn't fib to make a bigger sale. Love my new earrings!!! read more

Jewelry, comics, bikes, coins, movies, gaming consoles.. etc. The people are really friendly .. they just stiff on prices compared to some places around them. This is the pawn shop to go to. Multiple guitars, vintage toys, records and collectibles, games, and more. I went in looking for a tenor saxophone but they didn't have any, I stayed because of the amazing LEGO technic sets they have on display. I got an incredible jbl speaker for like half off and a nice Nikon DSLR camera with great zoom for 55. I would highly recommend this spot. read more

The only pawn shop I trust. If I need something i know i can find it at Pawn Chicago. Why pay retail when they have the fairest prices in town. When I need to pawn an item they have always offered me the highest dollar amount compared to the other local pawn shops. Their customer service is out of this world. They are eager to help and explained the pawn process clearly. I will always be a Pawn Chicago customer and I suggest you should be too. It was clean and organized, the employees and store manager made some great recommendations on a watch I wanted to purchase for my boyfriend. Visited Pawn Chicago Today. Had a wonderful experience working with Marguerite. I gave a price that I felt comfortable with selling my equipment, based on numbers, the market and her suggestion of selling my equipment in two separate pieces I got the asking price I was looking for. I did my best to stay away from pawn shops for years, because most are sleazy and low ball you, but the team at Pawn Chicago was fast and great! I contacted Pawn Chicago regarding a baseball card collection that I was trying to sell. Anthony was the guy that I talked too and he informed me that they do buy memorabilia and Card collections (unlike most pawn shops in Chicago) but the cards needed to be graded or signed. We couldn't make a deal. But 3 friends referred me to this shop. They all had great reviews. And I do too. Anthony is a great guy, and he really tried. But it just didn't happen.
