Paw-rific is horrible!! They cut my dog's skin with scissors leaving a "V" shape on her back. The cut became infected shortly after her grooming visit. We had to take her to the veterinarian. They gave us an antibiotic for her to take. Well, it did not take care of the infection and she started to lose her fur in the spot of infection. So....back to the veterinary clinic we go again! Once again the antibiotics did not work!!! So back for a 3rd time!! Finally, they gave her an antibiotic that was right to kill the bacteria that was given to my dog from a dirty pair of scissors!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

Our first visit here was exactly what I hoped for. It was our micro bernedoodle first groom at 3 months old. The staff was informative, gave me good advice and followed all my requests. Our pup was cut exactly what I wanted. I asked for 1 inch groom and a close face cut. UPDATE. 2nd visit was not so perfect. They definitely didn't even touch her legs, backside or tail. Her body and head was cut only. Everyone I know who has dogs in Ish and Neg travel to Marquette for a groomer. I might be doing the same soon. read more

I have been going to Paw-Rific for over 10 years and I haven't been more happy! I have a golden doodle who was very hyper when she was a puppy and they have always welcomed her. They would say that she will be fine and she always comes out so cute! She's now 10 and each time I tell her she's going to see Jill she gets hyper and jumps at the door. I'm so devastated to have taken my dog to Pawriffic. It took me two months to find a groomer that i thought truly cared about the animals left in their care, but boy was I wrong. I feel lied to! There website stating how many years the owner has groomed and cared for dogs really made me believe my dog would be safe. But NO! My sweet baby came home to me in PAIN. This was the third time he had a sore neck but this time was the WORST. I should have never taken him back but i kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. My dog couldn't even jump onto his little bed without YELPING. He is small, no more than 15 pounds, and his little neck is severely swollen. I'm crying because he's so sore. He trusted me and I feel like I failed him. I trusted pawriffic...I trusted he would be safe with them, but he wasn't. They had to have had the collar on so tight and he must have been In Pain and yelping the whole time...over 3.5 hours. I'm so disgusted. --Don't have a dog grooming business if you don't actually care about the service you're providing. I'm NEVER ever taking my dog to this place again. Sickening. Heartbroken. SHARING MY EXPERIENCE AT PAWS-RIFFIC, ISHPEMING, MI Prior to brining my girls in for a grooming, I had spoken to an employee explaining that my dog had three major knee surgeries, 14 1/2 years old. I explained how my regular groomer takes her time with her giving her several rest breaks. The employee told me no problem we have special equipment and work with old dogs all the time. On the day of their appointment, I dropped them off and spoke to the owner confirming my older dog's needs and making sure she could cut her hair accordingly. I detailed how I wanted her cut. With emphasis on the fact that she was having accidents and I wanted her hair short in the back, so I could keep her clean. I asked that her sides be cut up high, so they were even with her belly. I asked that the hair on her legs and bottom of feet be cut as short as possible so there was no hair winging out to prevent snowballs/ice from forming. I also stated this would be her last grooming because she was nearing the end of her life. My other dog is a 45pd short hair dog that was to receive a bath with no haircut. The owner's response to me was, "I have been grooming dogs for over 30 years." When I arrived at the facility to pick my girls up, I was told I owe $145. I was a bit taken back, as I have had five (4 of which had long hair) dogs groomed for the past 22 years. I am aware that everything has gone up in price, but this way more than the norm. I asked how much it was for my 42pd dog to get a bath. She told me $65. I questioned if that was a normal price for that size dog for a bath. While writing the check she said, "Oh your dog had a seizure" I looked up from writing my check and said "What?" She responded with "Yes she had a seizure, fell over and pissed all over herself." I asked why I wasn't called, and her response was "She was fine" Her choice of words "fell over and Pissed all over herself" and the fact that she did not call me immediately? I think all reading this would agree, if a dog has a seizure under groomers care the guardian should be called immediately and not calling the guardian would be considered neglect on the groomers part. After writing the check I turned to look back at my girls. I could see my older dog still had long hair on her sides, under her tail and on her legs. Without me even saying a word she said do you want me to take more off and of course I said yes. At that point she took my dogs and me into the back room. I could feel the tension, but I knew this would be my baby's last grooming and I wanted it done right. She began working on my dog as I stood at the grooming table while my dog leaned against me. I was not paying attention to her grooming techniques, as I was watching my younger dog stand there shaking in fear. It was at that point I realized my thoughts about her having a seizure were confirmed. My dog did not have a seizer, she had a panic attack because she was in fear of her surroundings and while I wasn't present for the bath, I know my dogs well. A bath at a groomer has never terrified her as it did here. Mind you these dogs were both used to be groomers/bathed. When I took my attention off my younger dog and turned it to my older dog who was still leaning into me, I could sense her anxiety and fear as well. Yes, I know dogs have anxiety, but there is no doubt in my mind that they were terrified. I looked down at my dog and witnessed the owner take her clippers and scissors to my girl. For lack of a better word she (chopped) away at my girl. Words cannot describe, as neither do the pictures of how bad my girl looked. I could have saved $145 and done the same thing at home. When my dog is done at my regular groomer (Doggie Styles) she comes out with shiny hair, cut appropriately and extremely soft and smooth. I called the owner two days later and asked if a stranger would call to obtain a price for a bath for a 40 pd dog what would you tell them. She hesitated and mumbled something, so I asked again. She said, $45. I questioned why she charged me $65. Her response was "because she pissed all over and I had to clean it up." I reminded her that when I was picking up my dogs and asked if $65 is a normal price for that size of dog she stated, "Yes" As you can see, she lied to me. Not recommended at all. Beth read more

I have two small senior dogs who have been groomed by Jill their entire lives. They have consistently been loved, welcomed, and extremely well treated by Jill and her staff.
