So we were just passing through from Omaha ne to orange country Ca - so i stopped for the night in Pratt and in the morning got about 10 mins outside of town and my tire pressure light came on so I backtracked and came back to this Walmart. Called ahead to see if they were busy and the got me in quick!! They didn't carry my tire size but no big the nail in my tire was plugable. They got me on the road in about an hour :) I'm a happy camper and it didn't ruin my trip. Hopefully the patch will get me to Albuquerque where I can get a new tire. YAY WALMART you guys rock!

Purchase is two pound bag($9.98) and limited to one bag. Problem is the coupon only covers one, 2 pound bag. Dillion's pushes purchases of items with a limit of 5. Then they push selling 5 items for a $1 off per item. Having to navigate EVERY coupon, every $1/off per mandatory 5 item minimum gets old having to inspect every element of coupons, ads(mix & max), 5 item minimum ($1off each item). Dang, give shoppers some space. Receiving a discount really takes savvy. Is the point to lead a shopper(a lot of seniors who do NOT use cell phones, i phones, tablets,etc.) into the store then overload them with EXTREMELY small print. Almost like a bait & switch. And yes I know the legal definition of bait & switch. Why confuse people? Especially elderly?

In these days of extremely high grocery prices, $6 dozens of eggs, one would think that being the only grocery chain in town would make them want to keep the customers loyal and be LOYAL to their customers. That is not the case with the Great Bend, Ks. store. I witnessed today, an elderly shopper, nice lady, get totally berated because she actually thought the price on the shelf tag would be the price she would be charged, boy was she wrong. Their tags are so small in lettering that the shopper didn't see the part that says you must buy "5" of those items to get any deal whatsoever. The supervisor, "Christine", made her feel like a child in front of 6 other shoppers, her fellow community members, and to top it off, the fact that she was totally mortified/embarrassed when told her so called weekly specials, were only special if you were able to download the coupon herself. She ws told she had to do it before coming into the store so as not to hold up the line, this lady had no idea how to download or receive those benefits. I thought the lady was going to cry. .(shame on Christine) . The elderly are getting "bait and switched" at this location and maybe even all of Kroger Stores, simply because they aren't completely computer literate. They advertise these great deals, tag them with great prices and then charge them regular price at the register before the customer can even check the receipt. (that is if you can even read the receipt because the ink print is so light you can't make out what was actually charged). This abuse of the elderly has to stop, even if the rest of the community has to stand up for our parents' rights to not own a "smart phone", not know how to download on a computer, or worse yet, not know how or be willing to confront those in charge that pick their pocket every time they shop.

This is the smaller original Dillon's store in Great Bend. I actually used to work at this store…read moremany years ago. It is store #3 in the Dillon's grocery chain, which was bought out by Kroger. I'm not sure exactly when this store was built, but I would guess the 50s or 60s. As such, it's a pretty small store and I don't think the company puts a lot of money into maintaining it. For example, the bathrooms are located next to the break room on an upper level connected only by stairs, making the facilities inaccessible to the handicapped. It's not falling apart by any means, but the store is pretty dated. The selection is adequate for a small store and you can find pretty much all the basics you will need. It does not have a bakery or a deli. Baked goods are brought over each day from the other Dillons location. The service is usually adequate and a little better than Wal-Mart. They do have a person that will carry out your groceries. This is one of the few options for groceries in Great Bend and the only full grocery store on its side of town. I would certainly recommend this store over going to a dollar store.

I work their do months and I fly got 3-5 pages done. Every time I ask my manger, he said "I am to tired to do it" 3. I never watch all of the training videos. 4. You have to work over 6 hours to get a 30 minute break. 5. Someone times when I ask for a break (working over 6 hours) I was told a break was a privilege and not mandatory. 6. My manger would go sleep in the closet instead of working. 7. Manger would make fun of me. 8. There are shelves of food in the back that have only a little problem (1 soda is open in a pack, box is partially open, ect) that gets thrown away. I seen a few intro videos for working there and they made a point that they donate food. Not once have I seen them do that.

Her supervisor came over to register 9 and asked what the problem was and my cashier simply explained and said it was an honest mistake and asked for help on how to fix it, the supervisor was practically yelling at my cashier right in front of me, my cashier was at least 16 or 17 if I remember correctly she had yellow under her name on her badge which I believe means that she is a minor. I am baffled at the fact that a supervisor would do that in front of a customer. It makes me not want to come back! I truly feel sorry for my cashier that day, Walmart make sure your supervisors are nice to your employees!

Lots of groceries for a small town and located conveniently on Main Street and Center. There is a great soda fountain and ice cream treats counter in the back, much like Bucklin has had for most of its hundred+ years of existence. The cute young man (AC I believe) is so sweet and friendly, and even helps with the groceries to your car (and I bet I could get him to bring them home for me if I lived there!). A wonderful treasure in a gem of a town.

Went to the gas station on the main highway called the "Cafe' & C Store" and their Cafe is not open on the weekends!!! (Because who is out and about on weekends and might need to eat anyway?). Wound up at the Bucklin Bar & Grill! Yay! They have delicious food AND a restroom for their patrons!
