My fiance and I decided that we didn't want to have traditional wedding food at our wedding so we explored our options and came across Paul! We are planning our wedding from across the country which can be very difficult, but Paul has been very good at communicating with us and meeting our needs. Simply put. Paul is the best! We hired Paul and his team to cater our wedding in South Lake Tahoe, CA. He hosted us for a pizza tasting prior to our big day, that alone would be an incredible experience, where we tasted appetizers and different flavors of pizza. They welcomed us with the warmest shouts of cheer as we met them at Contentment Brewing to try out their pizza. As soon as we started eating, my fiancé and I at the time, knew that it would be such an honor to have them at our wedding. Paul isn't just an amazing chef, he is the most personable, uplifting, and inspiring man. June 6th came and we were blessed with their presence at our wedding. Paul was exceptional. We had our rehearsal at Union Hill Inn and my husband and I loved him. We used the tiki hut and had a whole Hawaiian theme. Paul did an incredible job for my daughters first birthday. He was extremely professional and accommodating, especially for our vegan and vegetarian guests for no extra charge. He was timely despite having come to San Jose from Modesto, had everything set up quickly and even brought me food when he saw me running around hungry. Paul took multiple calls from my husband and I, let us design our own pizzas and simply provided the reassurance we needed throughout the planning process that set our minds at ease. I have always heard of this company and went to Smokey's Restaurant back in April to try it out. Yes, his pizza was good so I thought how cool would it be to hire him to cater my son's wedding rehearsal dinner in October! I brought my son and his fiance back the following week and they too wanted him to be apart of their special weekend. I called him the next day, paid a deposit and was all set. I was way ahead of the game- SO I THOUGHT!! I reached out to Paul this past Monday to confirm our selections and his arrival time. He emailed me back saying that he could no longer cater for us and was sorry. I was completely appalled that he 1. Didn't let me know sooner (i now have 4 days to get a cater for 30 people on a Friday night ) and 2. He canceled in an email. Would have been nice for him to pick up the phone and call me and explain to me his reason. Fortunately for me , I called Fireball Pizza and he helped me out. I am really glad I got the opportunity to give Eric a try because his pizza was just as amazing! Worst part after everything is that I found out via a Facebook post that Paul's Rustic Oven Pizza was participating in Sherwood Schools Fall Festival on the night he was supposed to cater for me.
