So much so that I wanted to be able to buy their music in iTunes so I contacted them through social media and asked where I could find their music. I have not been able to make it out to any of their most recent events but I can say that the music and entertainment is quality stuff. And even though it's been a while since I've seen them whenever their album comes on on my iPhone I enjoy every bit of it and I sing a long to my hearts content. I was so happy to discover that 10+ years later, they were still together and active! Their website has many different samples of their music. http://www.citylightsband.net/ We chose them because they have a huge repertoire of music to play from, and a very strong male & female vocalist. They were able to play bosa nova jazz music during dinner, which made the wedding so much more elegant and festive. My husband really wanted to add some brass to their 6 piece band. Barry, the band leader, was very easy going, and fun to work with-- not to mention his great sense of humor! He helped Emc the night. We added a sax and a trumpet, which made the band sound fantastic! We chose "At Last" as our first song-- which everyone was so impressed with. Thank you City Lights Band! BTW, the band members live all over the bay area. The band leader, Barry, lives near Santa Rosa. They perform all over the bay area, and all over California!

The chairs made my butt numb so I stood in the back after the intermission. Somehow they sold our seats to someone else as well who got their first, but the usher seated us nearby and the problem was quickly resolved. I'll go back next year and I'll pay the extra to sit up close in order to get the full volume and experience of being up close and personal rather than a little disconnected toward the back. Loved it though!

The audience at our program ranged from 4-year-olds all the way to adults, and he kept everyone entertained. Larry's manner with the kids was just delightful -- I was amazed at how easily he got volunteers out of a normally somewhat reserved group of kids! Hands just shot up in the air when he asked for someone to come up on stage, and Larry did a wonderful job making sure each young volunteer was comfortable and having fun. I would whole-heartedly recommend Larry for any library program, and hope we can have him perform here again!

He, by far, has been the best guitar instructors I've had. His intelligence, kindness, understanding, and patience are truly reflected in his teaching style and methods. He also has the ability to challenge you and allow you to grow without it being some laborious task either. His background as an academic musician definitely helps in understanding music. There's nothing dry or uninteresting about the lessons and you gain much. The one thing that definitely stands out is his unconditional love for music. He's authentic and it shows and you can't help but want to learn from him.
