I realize closing surgeries was not the surgeon's call, but there was a lot of danger in having me wait this out, as I have secondary complications if I did this via ER in the pending months of outbreak. I suspect it's been broken for the last seven years. I felt my evaluation should have been seen more of a priority. We are appalled that she never bothered to contact my husband regarding the results of his lab test results. Not a call, not a text, NOTHING! At times texts are fine to answer many questions, however when a patient requests a call to speak to the doctor directly, not by text and she never responds, it is unacceptable. Even after speaking directly to the office staff regarding a call back and told two days in a row that the doctor would call us back that NEVER happened. We just got another useless text. If Dr. Amy Schettino does not want to take the time to have a short conversation with a patient on occasion, and will only respond with a text she should not be practicing medicine on patients. We did not receive the medication prescribed in the form that was discussed in her office. She asked how we preferred it administered and confirmed this in a clear discussion at the end of our appointment. We called the office and spoke to an assistant who kept blaming us for not understanding what form of the medication was ordered. We understood EXACTLY what form of medication was discussed. It was not the first time my husband used this medication. Take responsibility for your mistakes! The medication was ordered in a different form than the first time we used it which caused confusion resulting in delayed administration of the medication. This caused my husband to be in pain and severe discomfort longer than necessary. Specific messages were left regarding this issue requesting a phone call from the doctor to discuss it. A call was never received. We also called asking if one part of the lab results were back and were told they would let us know the next day regarding that particular part of the results. We never heard back regarding the result we asked about with a call or a text. We understood there was a different culture that would take several weeks. As stated, we never received a call about any of the results to discuss what further measures should be taken. We went to the portal several weeks later to review the lab results that we were informed would be available after several weeks. Dr. Amy Schettino did not have the decency to get in touch with us regarding the results and to discuss them. This is despicable. What respectable physician ignores their patients lab results and never calls to discuss them. I come from a family of many physicians and if they treated their patients the way Dr. Amy Schettino treated us, they would not have a practice. We had to request the medical records four times in ten days without them being sent to our primary care physician. If you do not have the respect for a patient that needs to speak to you on occasion you should not be practicing medicine. It takes more than some medical knowledge to be a good doctor. It takes communication with your patients in a timely and considerate manner. That means a short conversation on occasion. You are required to follow up on your patients lab results in a reasonable timeframe. We also learned that his symptoms could be other issues that she never addressed in her diagnosis or from his lab results. We requested my husbands records and proceeded with another capable, caring and responsive ENT physician at a different practice. Really wished I hadn't. so I found it odd that they tried to sell me an expensive insole and some other product on my first visit. Cash grab. He's also trying to sell me hard on the fact that if I don't do the additional chemicals that the ingrown will come back. Which also meant a longer recovery. Even if that's the case it won't come back right away. I've had this procedure done before and I got to watch them do it. Not this time. He put a curtain up so I couldn't watch what he was doing. I told him I wasn't squeamish and I was fine and I'd love to watch. He says he does it for everyone. Now I know why. You can't watch him screw it up. The last doctor sprayed my toe numbed my toe, took a scalpel, sliced on both sides, pulled out the ingrowns put some ointment on bandaged me up and told me everything would be good and it was. As for this one, you couldn't be further from the truth. firstly, he didn't numb my toe enough. That's always fun. Secondly, they were a lot of instruments laying out on the counter. He was using on my foot. He was digging around a lot. I thought it was odd that this wasn't seamless. I was getting concerned during the procedure. I couldn't even tell what my toe look like after procedure before he bandaged it. He also told me I could change the bandage out if it bled through. I might blood through? I never got a chance to look at it. Until I got home the next day. I was really concerned then turns out for good reason. At the time of making my original appointment, I found out they had a medical pedicurist. I asked if I could make an appointment. She only comes in certain times I said, but my toe will still be bandaged up. Is that going to be OK? They said yes. I went ahead and went forward a week after my procedure and within a week I had an infected toe. Why would you tell somebody after getting a procedure and still in recovery, that it would be OK to get a pedicure. So either I got it from Dr. light or either I got it from the pedicurist. I kept having to come back in because my toe was looking really really ratchet and painful. now fast forward. On one of my last visits, he told me that I might have to come back and have him redo the whole thing. I'm like why? I can't afford this I can't afford the recovery time I work on my feet. Why would I have to go through this again. it's his business so bad that he does this on purpose. This is how he makes his money. I don't know what he did to my toe. He wouldn't let me watch. This is a fairly simple procedure. That's why it's done in a doctors office and not Hosp. . Please do yourself a favor. Don't go to the pedicurist. I spent 50 bucks for five minutes of an infection.
