AVOID THIS DOCTOR! I have been taking a medication that was prescribed to me that has given me severe side effects. It is a life saving medication, so I can't stop taking it until the duration is over. I was seen at the ER last week, where I had multiple tests done. My EKG came back as borderline. I have been suffering from high blood pressure, dizziness, extreme fatigue. I fear getting behind the wheel and making my 45 minute drive to work because I have gotten dizzy at the wheel and had to literally pull over. I have passed out at work. I went back in today to ask him to sign my short term disability paperwork (which is offered through my company and not through the state. I literally have paid into this and should be able to use it). I get a call back and was told this: "Dr. Pockros does not sign disability paperwork". I responded by stating, what do you mean? He is a doctor! The assistant then told me to go to my general practitioner and get the paperwork completed there. I informed her that I am BEING SEEN BY DR. POCKROS, HE IS IN CHARGE OF MY CONDITION, NOT MY GENERAL PRACTITIONER! This is beyond unprofessional and in my opinion, medical negligence. I finally ended by stating, fine, if I get in an accident, or pass out at work and get injured, I will be contacting my attorney and suing you because you are giving me a complete bill of health when in fact, I am undergoing treatment with a new medication and should not be driving or operating machinery. Do yourself a favor. Don't think just because he works for a good hospital that he and his staff are good doctors because they simply are not. read more
