I have always had good services. The atmosphere on service day is great. It may be a competition but everyone is working together.

The students need to learn how to take appointments and add special instructions. When the get to…read morea professional shop it could cause loss of customers. Actually since they messed up our appointment they lost 2 customers.

Aww, my old alma mater... I think that's what that word means. Oops, I'm bad advertising…read more Anyway, this is an acceptable little community college, right on the edge of Freeport. They have a wide range of programs/degrees, from theater to science to technology. As far as I know they still don't offer bachelor's degrees, so associate's is as good as you're going to get, but they do offer plenty of vocational degrees, like autobody, cosmetology, and CNA. Classes are generally small, although there are a few lecture halls. The professors are usually real people, who genuinely want you to succeed in their classes, and will actually help you to do so. Of course, there are always some who just have their own agenda and want to spread their own opinions instead of teach (I won't name names), but most of the professors I had were somewhat passionate about their field, which definitely helps a person to learn from them. The funny thing is, a lot of people look at Highland as an extension of high school, and I can't say I disagree, but I would tweak it a bit and say it's a good prep school. It's a solid choice if you're trying to transition from high school to a university or even to real life.

So I'm a student at MATC and I went there as a first time customer, got a trim which was much…read moreshorter than I asked for but I didn't complain because it's a learning school. Then I went back to dye my hair red! Early 2022 maybe March, I went with a few photos. As I'm getting my hair bleached the 2 students are just talking so much garbage and petty nonsense about instructors. Meanwhile the ENTIRE time in that chair every instructor had a different method or suggestion to the students working on my hair. Each time!!! And yet the 2 girls continued shaming the instructors methods. How is that ok? Get on the same page I'm literally making a big change to my hair! Again, I said nothing because they are a learning institution. (Even though the rude remarks were completely unprofessional for 2 girls that are about to graduate in about 3 months) I asked questions about how long red hair dye will last before a touch up. And they gave me so much wrong information. Like the students said I would be ok waiting til July for my cruise for a color touch up. Why did I even believe them? I don't know. Ok so a week later I come back and show them my hair which was BRIGHT PINK NOT RED. All the teachers came around and agreed that was NOT what I asked for and they re did my hair and charged me for the product which still isn't fair to a client. And my hair STILLL wasn't red, it was a red purple. I didn't complain this time and decided I'll just keep it as is because it didn't look too bad. So then I call again probably a month later and tell them hey this color is a nasty brownish red color. It actually turned like this 2 weeks after I was there. Don't forget, I was told I could wait til my cruise in July. Which was like 3-4 months after the hair color. The front desk girl whoever she is pretty much said "no we don't use that in our verbage. No we can't tell you what product we used. No we can't tell you what color we used on your hair. No we would never tell you to wait 3-4 months. No you are wrong we are disagreeing with you on that". She should've at least said ok let me give you a different student. Did she forget I came back multiple times to get my hair right ? Never complained about double paying for product? Oh and bought shampoo from you! And this is your response? To further prove how wrong they are the students literally told me you can wait for your cruise in July to touch up the hair but we won't be here. We will graduate. So come in May if you want us to do it. BUT AGAIN THE CUSTOMER IS WRONG. THEY NEVER SAID THAT APPARENTLY AND IM CRAZY So after that discussion I stayed away for a bit because I live an hour away from the salon. Then after weeks of coloring my own hair red, I called again to get them to do it with whatever color they used since they wouldn't tell me what color they used and to get a trim. GUESS WHAT? they told me I should go elsewhere!!! How crazy is that? If you are an institution then your response should've been hell yea! We want the new students to revive your hair to work on it. Learn. Never did I complain about paying and this is how they treat me. It's sad honestly. Normal professional salons would say come in, let's dye it again, touch it up. Re Educate the client. Anything. But they were on full defend mode. Oh and professional salons would tell you what color or product they are putting in your hair and not hold it as confidential. Ridiculous !!!!!!!
