The former was like a millionaire slice, but with soft, gooey caramel. I loved the Bakewell. The frangipane and jam perfectly complemented each other. As we ate these in a nearby park, we appreciated that the pastry was sturdy and tasty, so we had no trouble eating with our hands. Based on this experience, I'd happily visit another Paul Rhodes location.

The bakery has plenty of seating both outside and in. The smell of fresh bread fills your nose as you enter and there's a warmness to the staff and the people within. We didn't eat in today but we will definitely be back. Instead we grabbed a chocolate cookie and a salted caramel brownie and we went on our way. 5pm came round and it was cookie time! The cookie was packed full of chocolate chips and tasted wonderful. It was very crumbly but I liked this about it. I can only imagine it warm and gooey - NOM. Next, the brownie. Moist and melt in the mouth, it was truly delightful BUT I couldn't really taste the salted caramel, it just wasn't strong enough over the chocolate. Still a great brownie. As, I said, I'll be back for lunch. Those pizzas are calling my name.

The chocolate chip and hazelnut cookie was very good, with plenty of melty morsels and chunks of nut (a little chewier might have made it perfect). The gooey chocolate cake was not gooey and left mixed impressions; dry and uninteresting to the devotee and very good to the gluten-free. The space is pleasant and the people friendly enough. They're slow on clearing and cleaning tables, though, at least in our brief experience. And the prices are premium for the volumes offered. Should we revisit Greenwich we'd consider going again.

When I went to ask where my order was, there was no apology, just a reply 'it's coming' as if it was reasonable to keep someone waiting so long. When my coffee finally arrived it had syrup in it. I took it back and politely asked them to change it. They denied that there was syrup in there - basically accusing me of lying. I asked for a refund. They were reluctant to refund me and behaved as if I was being unreasonable. The money was eventually put on the counter with a bad attitude and there was no apology. I can't see this business lasting long if this is the way they treat their customers

The red velvet cake and chocolate are sublime; they…read moredo need to work on the German Chocolate it's really more chocolate with coconut rather than the traditional coconut pecan frosting that makes this particular dessert so unique. Fortunately for us, who love all things sweet and tasty, that is their only shortcoming. The presentation is lovely and I often find myself salivating while eagerly waiting to pick my cupcake and make my dash back to my desk to devour the sinful delight. The frosting and sponge are equally delicious; I have had many a cupcake where the one or the other is out of balance. But with Sweet Couture every bite is a delight! My only bone of contention is that they never seem to have the mini cupcakes! I think it is dishonest to advertise but only offer the treats by the box and rarely individually. I love cupcakes, my waistline does not. Sometimes I don't want a full sugar filled confection, just a taste. So please Sweet Couture either stop advertising that you have mini-cupcakes or make them regularly available for individual purchase. Personally I'd prefer the latter because then I could eat a mini cupcake everyday with no feelings of guilty rather than a big cupcake every once in a while.

So far I've only stopped twice and managed to try out their cupcakes and bought a medium chocolate cake for a birthday. Given the prices, it's definitely a treat, but that's OK since I'm not sure I want cake more often than occasionally anyway.

I honestly feel like this place is a hidden gem in Deptford. I came here on a Saturday, a little later than we had planned, but just in time to snag the last of the white chocolate almond croissants with cardamom. Seriously, that single item was worth the entire trip, but add to that the chili and goat cheese danish and you're at a whole other level. I think after this visit I'll have to make a weekly pilgrimage to this lovely bakery. Everyone was so sweet and kind and enjoyed what they were doing. That's the kind of atmosphere you want to soak up with a cup of coffee and something baked fresh out of the oven.

Execution of the food was great, but flavor wise was hit and miss. I wanted to try so many pastries but I know desserts from other countries can differ greatly. I had a spinach and cheese pocket and ate some of a veggie sandwich. The pocket was good and savory with a flakey phyllo dough shell. The veggie sandwich was lacking in flavor and on the bland side. The pastel de nata pastry was delicious. It was the same as an egg custard tart. The apple pie however was disappointing. Nothing like the chunky spice laden apple pie filling you find in the states. Biodegradable wood utensils are used here which is cool. I liked this bakery and all they had to offer.
