She was WORTH every penny OMG. She was calm, competent, and battled every thing they tried to throw at me. Eventually we won and financially I was waaaaaay ahead over the alternative. The second time I reached out to Jessica was when my wannabe lawyer roommate started threatening me with multiple lawsuits. I was super freaked out but Jessica explained that while anyone can sue for anything the stuff he was throwing at me was ridiculous and while he was in law school his knowledge was SEVERELY lacking. After looking over my options, I decided to give my 30 year old lease back to the landlord and move to Texas permanently. I had already been spending a lot of time in Texas since C19 started and well, my quality of life improved SIGNIFICANTLY because I'm not stuck in a 120 year old apartment with a self important bully. I informed him I was going to give up the lease and he threatened me with even more lawsuits and jail time (for exercising my legal right as the master tenant mind you). Well, long story short, I got him out and now he's paying 2X more for half the space in a crappy boring neighborhood. It cost me some money but it was worth it to shut him down. Jessica could have easily taken on anything this idiot threw at us but I chose to not having an idiot who chose "winning" over paying rent control in a fantastic neighborhood. I never broke the law in how I handled him and treated him beyond fairly. Jessica was a calm presence, and fantastic at laying out all the possibilities, and while she's great in court sometimes knowing when to walk away is the best thing you can do! I love my life in Austin now and don't have to worry about receiving certified mail from this idiot. Even if I did I'd have Jessica in my corner. She's a champ! I am so lucky to have had Jessica as my lawyer. She's one of the things I'll miss most about San Francisco.

I hired Jessica to help with a rent nonpayment case. She was initially responsive, and accepted my…read moresignificant pre-payment. However, before we could move anything forward she disappeared. For a full month she did not respond to emails or phone calls, with no explanation. After a month I finally opened a case with the state bar to investigate as I'd already paid her a significant sum, and I hired another lawyer, who was able to move things along in days. Altogether, the month-long delay in my case plus the cost of an additional lawyer cost me thousands of dollars. After well over a month, and after I'd completed the process with another lawyer, she finally responded with little explanation. I want to be sympathetic to "family issues", but I would expect at *least* setting an "out of office" email so people know what's going on. She only partially refunded my money (kept a significant amount). I overall found this behavior deeply unprofessional and dishonest.
