You'd think they would've told you that in the beginning that they can't take on new cases? This has happened with a couple of other law firms as well. And they won't give an answer Why?? This is very unprofessional. I asked if they could put me on a waitlist and they said no once they've not taken the case they don't take it in the future?? So there's some ulterior motive here? Then they referred me to a few people that left their firm and formed their own firm and they did the same thing?

Unfortunately, I let the negative reviews in here influence my decision and hired another attorney instead and it cost us valuable time. What immediately stood out to us was Bornstein Law's transparency. Their terms and fees are clearly listed on their website. That was a big relief after the other attorney was trying to get us to sign with their firm and start an eviction over a small issue (Bornstein Law's fees are more affordable vs the other attorney we talked to). During our consultation, we didn't have to spend a long time explaining every detail of our situation and Attorney Bornstein had already identified the issue and presented several options to resolve our tenant issue. He was direct, practical, and didn't sugarcoat anything. I can see how some people might interpret that as feeling unheard, but in our case, we appreciated his efficiency. He was also considerate enough to recommend options that would cost us less because our matter was not an eviction case. After the call, I realized why some reviews mention communication issues. At the end of our consultation, he accidentally placed us on hold, apparently thinking the call had already ended. Should we be upset about it? Maybe. But compared to finally having a clear path forward for our tenant issue, it felt like a minor mistake. We left the consultation relieved and confident about our next steps.

For a full month she did not respond to emails or phone calls, with no explanation. After a month I finally opened a case with the state bar to investigate as I'd already paid her a significant sum, and I hired another lawyer, who was able to move things along in days. Altogether, the month-long delay in my case plus the cost of an additional lawyer cost me thousands of dollars. After well over a month, and after I'd completed the process with another lawyer, she finally responded with little explanation. I want to be sympathetic to "family issues", but I would expect at *least* setting an "out of office" email so people know what's going on. She only partially refunded my money (kept a significant amount). I overall found this behavior deeply unprofessional and dishonest.

I was in a panic, had no idea how to work with the IRS, and certainly had no way to pay the tens of thousands of dollars of past due taxes, interests, and penalties. Mr. Goldstein and his staff immediately put my mind at ease. I began to understand what the various steps would be, what documents I would need to file, and learned that the levies against my bank accounts would be lifted. The letters from the IRS stopped, and my anxiety began to calm down. Over a period of time, his staff collected all of the necessary documentation from the IRS so that we could file the missing returns. Although I had many questions, they were always patient and informative. Finally, they drafted an Offer in Compromise, which the IRS accepted. This saved me a very large amount of money. I couldn't be happier with the efficiency, supportive communications, and of course, the final result. Don't make the mistake of expecting a CPA to handle the complexities of dealing with the IRS; you need an experienced tax attorney. It's the best investment you could make.

What I expected was competent legal support, clear direction, and meaningful advocacy. Instead, I experienced poor follow-through, minimal effort, and a lack of attention to detail. From early in the process, there were avoidable mistakes, including an incorrect VIN number in the original communication. In a vehicle-related legal dispute, that is not a small detail. Accuracy matters, and that mistake reflected what became a broader concern: I repeatedly felt like I had to push the matter forward myself. Rather than feeling represented, I felt like I was managing the attorney. Communication and follow-through were not at the level I expected, and the case did not appear to be handled with the urgency or diligence required. When the matter reached the point where litigation needed to be considered, it became clear to me that Justin was not the right attorney to carry the case forward. My concern is not simply that the outcome was unresolved. My concern is the pattern of limited effort, lack of attention to key facts, and failure to provide the level of advocacy I needed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Justin Hsiang for a matter that requires persistence, litigation readiness, or active case management.

I sold my house using laura instead of a realtor. She got me through the unending paperwork and stayed on top of things even while she was on vacation. She charged a little more than some of the other lawyers i talked with, but she called me -not an assistent and she got right on all the details as they came up. If you don't know who that is, watch the movie Erin Brockovich (2000) starring Julia Roberts. If money wasn't an option, I'd still hire Kriss FIRST before I would an attorney, or at least ask her for a referral first if I needed to work with a good one - just my opinion. I'm sure she has a good team and only works with the best. Personally though, I think she would be a great attorney, if she was one. I've hired a lot of Attorneys and although she is NOT a Lawyer, Kriss Miranda is the best paralegal and is better than a lot of attorneys I've hired in the past for these reasons: 1) She gets a lot more done and quickly. She communicates well. She does detailed, quality work. 2) Kriss always responds quickly. I've had so many attorneys that don't even have time for me or are too busy and they don't email you or call you back, etc. I've had some attorneys to where I had to chase them down just to get status of my case, or a simple update. I'm sure Kriss gets busy, but at least she is really great at returning inquiries, and gives the time to listen to me and issues I may have, even late after business hours and weekends too, just to get the job I need done! 3) Kriss pays attention to the details. To get the level of attention to detail Kriss does naturally, you usually have to hire an entire law firm, or at least multiple attorneys / lawyers. I know this from experience. Again - to get an idea - watch the movie Erin Brockovich. 4) Kriss is really good at research and asking the right questions, she is personable and can trust her by my side and can point me in the right direction. What I mean is that having Kriss is like having a sister in your corner. It's not that she'll lose control or will throw chairs in the courtroom - what I mean is that she'll be passionate and emotionally invested to see you get the best possible outcome. 5) Kriss is honest. Although she can't give you legal advice, she'll make sure the papers get done correctly, and tell you straight up / flat out what the range of possibilities could be if rules aren't followed correctly. Read the other 5 star reviews. There was one recent review I don't agree with (hopefully it gets removed) - because the yelper wasn't even her client. Yelp is for clients and actual customers, not for people who are sore just because they lost and she won against them. But I guess it goes to show she was successful in winning that situation. It literally took me days of calling nonstop to find a good lawyer - and somehow found Kriss instead, I'm so glad I did. If you want someone super smart and passionate like Erin Brockovich - and you want them to care about you like family - you'll get Kriss Miranda in your corner.
