These…read morepeople are in the business of stealing your money rather than helping you and honoring their warranty. Within the first month, the water heater started leaking. They happily took our $85 to send someone out to say we needed a new water heater. After the $85 had been sent to them then they said they would not cover the water heater (becuase the home inspector said it was older, but was still marked as functional on the inspection) and would not reinburse our $85. I have called and talked to several stating that the home inspector gave the water heater the green light but that didn't matter. I even got the home inspector on the phone and he again said that the water heater was good during the inspecting and should be covered by the home warrenty. We haven't had hot water for over 2 weeks now becuase of this. Will be looking to pursue legal action. Don't waste your time unless you are able to consult a lawyer when the time comes to use the warranty.

They set up a yearly review so that you can make sure your needs are met as life changes and they seem to want what's best for the long term. If you don't have any claims or accidents for three years than you get a bunch of your payments refunded to you, I think it is like half of your yearly premium. It is good incentive to drive safe! I had my house broken into and my car stolen 2 months ago, and filed a claim on my home owners for everything except the car and the car on the comprehensive coverage. My car was recovered with extensive damage to the suspension, body and motor and transmission mounts. It also tested positive for methamphetamine's. American Family informed me that the methamphetamine levels in my care were safe and they were not going to do anything about it. Only after telling my agent that I was going to call the local news to discuss their opinion of a safe level of meth exposure for my family did they agree to decontaminate the car. They also bought cheap aftermarket and junk yard parts from all over the country. They have called the body shop on my car and stopped work twice. After two months the parts that were locally available but order from all over the country have finally arrived. When the second work stoppage was called in by the adjuster. They informed me today that they would replace the key to my house that was stolen but not re-key or replace the locks. So now I have a key to my house and so do the thieves that already broke into my house once. I also had to replace my garage door opener because it was not compatible with new remotes. They won't cover that either. The keys to the truck in my RV pad were stolen but they say those are not covered, even though the keys were stolen from inside my house. It is truly amazing how they are happy to take your premiums every month but when it comes to paying out for the coverage you have paid for they won't pay for much of anything, except crap after market parts and a new key. If you are hoping for anything but broken promises and anxiety don't use American Family Insurance!
