He gave me a rough quote from some pics I texted and was at my house to do an accurate quote just a few days later. His quote on the phone was in the range he gave me on our phone conversation, so I was happy. Greg arrived with a helper which was also very friendly, and both respected my property and home. They were on time, gave me the best price out of 4-5 quotes and they did a great job! I got on the roof and inspected up close, and I am so happy with the finished job. The technician spent the better part of my appointment telling me how shocked he is that my home has insurance because my wood stove is from the 1800s. He kept recommending I "update" it, and when I asked what that even meant he said replace it of course. He actually had the nerve to ask me how to clean it. Seriously? He vacuumed it. Checked out the chimney and this cost nearly $200. He also told me that "much bigger, nicer homes than mine have had to upgrade their stoves, and that I'm lucky." My stove has been in my home since 1972, and it works perfectly. Complete and total waste of time. I will absolutely be going back to my previous company. My husband and I do most home renovating work on our own and knew they were trying to take us for an extra buck. A1 Able was not only reasonably priced, but they were extremely knowledgeable and helped us diagnose and solve issues and questions we we had with both our wood fire place and coal burning stove. Our chimney was a pain with all of the bends it had in the flue, but they were able to get it done no problem. They were quick to get the jobs completed before the cold nights upon us and very professional. He never showed that day. I texted him and got a response that he "had emergency surgery and is going to be laid up for awhile". No one ever contacted me until I reached out to them. Frankly, I don't believe it. The timing is too coincidental. If you read his reviews, he stood up another customer after leading them to believe he was going to do a job for them. I think he couldn't get anyone to help him so he bailed on the job. I texted them back to void the contract completely. Beware him and these other small time tradesmen.
