Beyond Disappointed Danger, do not go to this dentist. I…read morereally wanted him to be everything that I had read online. A non-toxic dentist that had my best interest in mind. I felt disappointed after every visit. My recent experience, I had a fractured tooth that required a crown. After the treatment I felt radiating pain through my gums, jaw and ear. I assumed my gums were just sore from the procedure. 4 days later the pain was so intense I couldn't sleep at night and started spiking a fever. The office was closed and there is not an on call line so I waited another couple of days and when I called in they told me the dentist wasn't in but gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I found a specialist willing to see me right away and advised me the severity of my situation. When I called to cancel my appt at Dr Larsen's office I was told I would be charged a fee and when I tried to explain, they hung up on me. I am beyond disappointed.

When Dr. Mark Takeda (the son) recommended Invisalign, I trusted his advice and eventually decided to move forward. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. My Invisalign results were disappointing--my teeth never became fully straight--and when I brought this up, he was defensive and dismissive rather than receptive. What's worse, my final interaction with Dr. Mark Takeda (the son) was shockingly unprofessional. He became visibly agitated, raised his voice, and even pointed at me in a confrontational manner. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a healthcare professional in my life. His behavior was rude, aggressive, and completely out of line. The staff has always been wonderful, but after that experience, I have lost all confidence in Dr. Mark Takeda's (the son) professionalism and skill. I will not be returning and strongly advise anyone considering Invisalign here to look elsewhere.

I have gone in for exams and the dentist does nothing to try and fix or do any type of treatment on my remaining teeth is just adamant about offering cosmetic things like implants or braces. I am not looking for anything cosmetic I am just trying to take care of my remaining teeth. My daughter is seen here too and was just in for a full exam less than 3 months ago and we were told she had no cavities but she started having tooth pain and when I called they couldn't get her in and I had to get her seen elsewhere and she ended up having to get two teeth extracted. Her new dentist told me one of the teeth he needed to extract had a huge cavity that could not have formed recently and should have shown up on her recent exam. The most frustrating thing is they never have any availability for appointments. I don't expect same day appointments but if I'm calling a week in advance to try and schedule something it's very frustrating that they never have anything available. After years of coming here as a patient I will not be returning.

I had prior work done, I've seen the full mouth x rays before, but they charged me to take more. Not only is a system failure concerning, but to charge me for their mistake & "comfort" me by assuring me my insurance covered most of it is unacceptable. The hygienist asked me where I wanted to start on the next visit since I require multiple things. I said I'm unsure, let's ask the dentist. The dentist looked for 7 seconds (without gloves.) and he confirmed we should start on the crown. The crown he wanted to replace was on the wrong side and it was a crown their office just did not long ago. All very concerning to say the least. Will not go back.

On my first visit they could not verify my insurance, so I was unable to get my teeth cleaned. I called my insurance and my insurance couldn't understand why the office was not able to verify it. All the information was listed on my insurance card that I handed them. Anyhow, it got straightened out. The staff is great! Martin is very professional and most importantly it was a nearly painless procedure. When he numbed me for my old crown removal, I barely felt the needle inserted. I get a lot of anxiety from the drill and will often suddenly feel like I can't swallow or choke, but my anxiety was definitely low with Dr. Nahigian. My crown is a front tooth and it's so beautiful and natural looking. It honestly looks like my own tooth! I am very pleased. I am glad to have found a new dentist office that I trust and with great results.

I called to find out whether they make a certain appliance I need for TMJ and whether they bill…read moremedical insurance or provide a superbill for reimbursement. Jai who answered was extremely defensive and angry about this question and my follow-up questions. She said they would not bill my insurance but would provide a superbill. I asked whether it would have medical codes on it instead of dental codes, since I need to get reimbursement from my medical insurance. She laughed at me and said I need to research the codes myself... that's not how superbills work. The provider produces them and they contain the codes and information necessary to submit for reimbursement to the insurance company. I kept trying to explain that, and she kept laughing at me condescendingly and then said her office would refuse to see me anyway. This call was literally one minute long before she hung up on me, adding, "Have a blessed day," before hanging up. I called back because I thought maybe she misunderstood my question and explained again what a superbill is. She then said they don't accept or work with insurance at all, that she is talking about a receipt. I explained that is not a superbill. She then lied saying she never said they could provide me with a superbill. That is literally the first thing she said to me on the first call, after saying they would not be able to bill my insurance. She said the word, "superbill." Before she hung up on me for the second time I made sure to wish her a "blessed day" as well. She didn't know what a superbill was, clearly, since they don't work with insurance claims at all. I have been calling providers all over the Central Valley for three weeks trying to find someone who can make this appliance and either bill my insurance or provide a superbill, since my insurance covers it. It's not an offensive or ridiculous question, and I really am just looking for medical care that I can afford, since this appliance costs around $1,000 out of pocket. Jai, there's no reason to be so mean and condescending to someone just for asking a question that you think is ridiculous, especially since you might be wrong it. And it's especially hurtful and hypocritical to invoke Christianity while insulting and rejecting a potential patient.

It seems really weird to review your dentist. But here I am, with some time on my hands, so…read more.. Backstory: when I was a kid, I went to Dr. Malan... The grandfather of this Dr. Malan. When he retired, I went to Dr. Malan again... The father of this Dr. Malan. And when he retired... I guess you have figured it out by now. :) I have found that everyone here, from the people in the front office, through the wonderful hygienist, to Dr. Malan himself, have been extremely kind, helpful, caring, and all-around great folks. I've always felt good about coming here, and I'm one of those people that, well, is not a good dental patient. Let's just leave it at that. :-) A couple of times, when I've had a bit of a dental emergency, they have bent over backwards to help me get my problem taken care of. I really really appreciate that. I know a lot of people that love their dentist, and wouldn't consider going any place else. I get that... That's how I feel about this, Dr. Malan.
