This is my first time writing a review about a business. I really felt compelled to share my positive experience at Patty's Hair Garden with others who are looking for a warm, friendly place with someone like Patty who has PASSION for Healthy Hair Care and Maintenance. After discovering Patty from my search for a Natural Hair Salon, I tried to book an appointment but she insisted I come in for a free consult first to determine what my goals and concerns are for my hair and also see the state of my hair before suggesting and advising what would be best for my hair. On the day of the day of the consult which she scheduled on the next day after our phone conversation, I walked into Patty's Hair Garden, and what a Lovely ambience salon and a very WARM FRIENDLY greeting from Patty!! She listened attentively to my concerns, needs and goals for my hair and discussed with me all the steps she will take to achieve my ultimate goal, which was Healthy Hair, maintenance and growth. She definitely has the ability to understand her clients' needs and concerns. She totally put me at ease with her CONFIDENCE, KNOWLEDGE, PROFESSIONALISM & EXPERIENCE! The second day was my D-DAY! Again, Patty welcomed me with a smile and got to work after finishing the client she was working on. Within 15 minutes she had me in her chair and went to work! Throughout the services ( which included: washing/coloring/steam treatment/set and styling coupled with the super UBC hair products she uses), she periodically checked and asked if I was doing ok - a sign of how she cares about her clients' comfort in her Salon! When she was completely done with my hair, I felt and looked SUPER AMAZING - EXACTLY how I had expressed to her! WOW! I was TOTALLY TRANSFORMED! What a SUPER DUPER STYLIST! Patty is my fairy godmother. This business woman is extremely professional, knowledgeable, fair and kind. When I called her I had been growing my hair naturally for three years without ever having it trimmed bc I was too terrified to let anyone touch it, which wasn't benefitting my hair. She offered me a free consultation in which she would show me exactly what she would do in order to trim my natural Afro. I told her I trusted her and would instead like to visit her for an actual appointment bc I was in a rush for the trim at this point. My instincts were right bc Patty is such a boss. She dresses to impress and her space is like a 70s apartment full of color and fun patterns. She demonstrated how she would trim my hair and we proceeded. I explained how my hair had different curl patterns and some of it won't really curl at all. Patty told me that I do have curls and explained all of the reasons why my curls aren't forming and how to get them to do form properly. By the end of this hair appointment I was floored. My hair did have curls!! I literally had no idea this was even possible. Patty trimmed my hair perfectly and brought my curls into bouncy existence for the first time in my entire life. I've been instructing anyone in my path with natural hair to visit Patty for a beauty boost as well as an increase in overall well being. She will make you feel fabulous and even inspire you as she is very deep, interesting and funny if you have a real conversation with her. Lastly, Patty is very obviously passionate about her work. She is an artist and I was excited to see that she has found the perfect studio in which to pamper her clients at Sola salon with like minded souls on a mission of beauty. The environs are airy and warm and relaxing, the service is top notch and the price is the same as it has always been! Patty keeps her client's needs in mind by not charging exorbitant prices. My hair was recently damaged and I called Patty for a last minute appointment. She immediately turned my don't into a beautiful do and in her magic hands my cares and worries melted away. I took a chance after seeing reviews on YELP and tried Patty's Hair Garden in a search for a new hairstylist. I've been to Patty's Hair Garden for 3 visits. Patty is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about hair care, cutting and styling. Yesterday was my first haircut. I LOVE the end result!!!! Thank you Patty. It far exceeded my expectations and looks better than the picture I brought for her to work from. I like that Patty listens and offers her thoughts and recommendations for your hair but ultimately allows you to make the decision. I have processed hair which she is doing a great job with. Patty is an amazing hair care professional! I went hair just for a consultation, but after 5 min of speaking with Patty about my hair I knew I had to get her to do my hair immediately! She was so accommodating and fit me into her schedule while taking the time to make sure I got the treatments and attention my hair needed. She works very efficiently and really invests in the health of the hair but also of her customers. She is all about hair care and is very knowledgable about how to treat damaged hair. I started coming to Patty last October after moving to the area and reading reviews on Yelp. My hair was damaged and was breaking easily. There were visible gaps from the breakage. Step-by-step, Patty was able to nurture my hair back to strength. The breakage stopped and the gaps filled in. Her daughter Kim did a weave on top of a protective cap and it further helped restore my hair. Within 4 months, my hair was natural and strong. Kim's weave has actually helped my hair grow. As a mother/daughter team, Patty and Kim really care about hair and worked to customize a plan that worked for me. Patty is AMAZING! I had very long (some layers reached my waist) natural hair and was looking for a good hairdresser in Westchester. I found that and more in Patty. It had been almost a year since I had gotten my hair done by a professional so I was long overdue. When I came in she assessed my hair and told me my hair was not in as bad condition as I feared. Patty used her magical hands to wash my hair and scalp. Afterwards, she placed me under a steamer for a wonderful, scalp stimulating deep conditioning. I have been going to barbers to get my hair cut for the past 20-plus years. As a recent retiree, I now have more time to devote to myself, so I was looking for something new, but natural. Went today at Patty's Hair Garden ( pattyshairgarden.com ) to get my dreadlocks. Miss Patty closed her salon and scheduled only me, so that she could focus on doing my hair. Funny and smart lady! I'm asian with straight smooth hair, and miss Patty worked her magic! My dreadlocks don't even looked like baby locks when she was done with it! That's saying a lot considering my hair type.
