My wife and I worked with Robert on a very complicated case. Before hiring him, we consulted with…read moremultiple attorneys. Every one of them tried to persuade us to file a Ch 13 because they believed our income was too high for a Ch 7. Robert was the only attorney who carefully reviewed our situation and felt we had a strong case for Ch 7. We ultimately decided to hire Robert, and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Robert's preparation was incredibly thorough. He paid attention to every detail and followed a very structured process. At times, I honestly thought he was asking for more documentation than necessary. I didn't understand why he needed so much paperwork--until the hearing. While waiting for our case to be called, we watched several other attorneys struggle because they weren't prepared. The magistrate repeatedly reprimanded attorneys for their lack of preparation, and many cases had to be continued. When my wife's name was finally called, I was nervous that we'd run into similar problems. Instead, thanks to Robert's preparation, every document was in order and every question was answered immediately. Our hearing went smoothly without a single issue. Our case was completed efficiently and without any resistance from the court. Seeing firsthand how other cases unfolded made us appreciate Robert's attention to detail, preparation, and deep knowledge of the law even more. It was on my siblings final court appearance with this counsel that he observed an exchange of correspondence (verbal and possibly written) between his lawyer and soon-to-be-ex. What took place after the fact, makes it hard not to speculate the possibilities of what was taking place between the lawyer and his client's ex. What are those possibilities? I am not sure. But considering that my sibling (and a witness) observed that this lawyer appeared to throw him under the bus in court (also noted and documented by the court appointed judge), it really makes one wonder... Could he have been paid off by the opposing party? Did they know each other personally? Honestly, who knows... What I do know is that the end result of what had taken place that day proves that this lawyer had failed to represent his client and judging by reviews on various online portals, my sibling is not the only one to experience this. With that being said, please take the time to do your research and take the reviews of others seriously. (PS: If you feel it necessary and the end results are damaging to you and to your family, never hesitate to report the recipient to the Board of Bar Overseers in your region.)
