Terrible!. This was an employment issue. Here are my main issues: 1. The first conversation Simon was concerned more about telling me I need to pay him a $1500 retainer fee. 2. He said he felt confident fighting my case for me, but lacked knowledge of certain laws, only making me and himself look stupid. 3. Correspondence was one sided. I'd write a decent amount to him and I would get 1-2 word responses. 4. He never spoke to me or explained the different ways to approach my situation. Never advised me. 5. When asking me to write info for the demand letter 2x he told me to think back something like 80 days. This was after I told him that I was in my probationary period and had only been there 9 weeks. 5. I emailed him to ask if my demand letter was sent out. His response was "yes". I got sick of the short answers and said I wanted a phone call. He told me to call him "Thursday or Friday". During that call, it was determined (3 weeks after the date he said he sent the demand letter) that he actually never sent it out. He blamed this on the holidays and he had been on vacation. 6. He didn't mention any of my issues I had with what they said in my personnel file. He decided to go the disability route. So when the company got the demand letter they said they had no idea what he was talking about and that it was far from the reasons why they stated I was let go. 7. I requested a follow up from him via text asking if he heard anything from the company regarding the demand letter. I didn't hear from him for a week. I had to reach out again asking for an update. He emailed me their response within seconds. That was it, nothing else. Nothing about what we do now I had to ask him. Then his answer was "your options are we go to court or we drop your case". Wow! Really??? You don't have to have a law degree to figure that one out! 8. When I sent a text explaining my disappointment with how this was going, and asked for a refund, that's when he got a little more wordy. He said he could do a specific thing if I wanted him to. I never asked him to do that, but he did anyway. The response from the other attorney was basically saying I hadn't worked there long enough to make that type of complaint and that if he wishes to move forward with any other complaints, he'd be there waiting for them. He didn't know the laws for what he was trying to do. 9. When I told him I didn't want his services anymore and requested refund of my fees, he agreed to give me a portion back. I asked for an itemized list of what he charged me for. He gave me a very short answer and a dollar amount that wasn't even close to the retainer fee. 10. He refunded the entire amount of my retainer, then charged me the amount he didn't want to refund me. He refunded to the original form of payment, which was a credit card that I had already paid off, so I had to call the credit card company to refund me the amount of the overpayment. 11. When I asked about why he did it that way and that how I had a significant negative balance on my credit card his answer to me was "You got back $xxxx right? What else can I do to help you?" So unprofessional!! I hope this helps anyone make an informed decision when choosing an attorney. read more

Absolutely avoid this law firm. They reached out to me when I posted an issue on Legal Match. I said that I wanted to meet with them in person so I went to a conference room that they rent in Boston as I could not get to the Framingham office without a major hassle. I didn't meet Simon in the conference, but instead met with a man named Daryl. He was a nice guy and listened to what I had to say. My issue was employment related which is tricky, but Daryl told me that even with "at will employment" that I still would have a claim. The manager I had worked for was awful and I found out that there had been multiple people under her in only a short period of time. I had the meeting with Daryl and was not charged. We had agreed that it was not a discrimination claim, it was more wrongful termination. He told me that he would call me in a couple of days, I never heard back. I e-mailed Simon and he called me saying that he would be my attorney, but he said the opposite of what Daryl had said and that we would be going to a discrimination organization to file a complaint versus to court. Daryl and I had agreed that there was no discrimination. I never heard from Daryl again in all of this. The red flag is that not only was I told the opposite of the initial conversation. I was told by Simon that Daryl didn't handle discrimination cases, but then why was he sent to meet me in the conference room in Boston? I said I wanted to have another conversation and understand what would be happening and he said NO as I had not paid them yet. They basically wanted me to pay a $5,000 retainer to see if I even had a case. That was never going to happen. I didn't have delusions of grandeur, basically I was told that I could get a years salary as an add-on bonus which I was fine with. I never said I was expecting to never have to work again. After the phone conversation with Simon where he told me the opposite of what I had been told by Daryl. I sent him an e-mail saying that I wanted to have another conversation to see if I had a case. He e-mailed me back saying, "Our case load is full. Take care and good luck." Thats a terrible way to treat someone. I would avoid this law firm. It seemed like they just wanted money from me. Their office is not actually in Boston as it says on this site. The one state street address is just a conference room that they rent out from another firm. That didn't bother me. I met with Attorney Mann's self - proclaimed " boutique " law firm 2 weeks ago in Framingham Mass. ( Attorney Simon Mann left his own yelp review about his own business at the bottom of this page calling his firm "boutique" . First of all there is no waiting room, no reception area, and only one chair to sit in so if you bring somebody with you they will have to stand. The size of the office space is approx 12 ft x 12 ft with a huge hole in the wall .( see photo below ) . I had traveled 2 hours to see Attorney Mann and told him before I come to make sure he reads all the files I sent him and be 100 percent sure he still wanted me to make the trip and pay the tolls. He told me he read everything and to come in to meet him. I then received phone calls from his associates not even realizing I had a meeting with him and they were asking me questions that I already discussed with Simon Mann and trying to set up meetings I already scheduled . No communication goes on in this office, mass confusion, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing or which side of the coin is up or down . After I drove all the way down there, I never even got to have my meeting with Simon Mann ! I got past off to one of his associates who never even read my files or knew I was coming in for a meeting !!!!!!! He told me this was DELIBERATE ........... that he purposely did not read my files because he had a conflict with my case............ His father worked for the establishment I am trying to litigate against . I explained that I took the time to send these files and discuss everything prior to my road trip. He just said " sorry nobody told me you were coming " . Instead of just telling me he couldn't sue his fathers place of employment , he led me down the path and told me he would call me in a week . I explained to everybody in that firm my statue of limitations is in 2 months and I have no time to waste................ but as you can see more time has been wasted as weeks went by and I never got a phone call saying he could not accept the case. I then placed my ad back on the websight where I originally got contacted by Simon Mann and he AGAIN responded to my ad and actually PHONED me up not realizing who I was !!!!!!! I had to tell him who I was and listen to a bunch of random excuses why the firm left me hanging for weeks , with empty promises that he was going to personally find a lawyer for me to take my case. Needless to say this is NOT a "boutique" way to do business or a "boutique" law firm . I now am scrambling to find a lawyer and everybodys time has been wasted, mine and the firms , due to major incompetency .
