AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I'm a new patient trying to make an appointment to switch from pediatric to…read moreadult health. The process I had today made me look outside of Doylestown Health as a whole because of how unprofessional and MEAN the interactions at this location were. Here's a summary of my experience: I called the number to make a new appointment. This lady was nice and said they would call me back and took my name and number. A few hours had passed and their office had closed so I assumed they would call back on Monday since it wasn't mentioned that they could potentially call after hours. At 4pm, which is when the office closed, I stopped keeping a close eye on my phone. At 5:11 pm I got a phone call from a lady named Kimberly, who's phone call I missed, so she left a voicemail instructing me to call back and hit option 1 on the phone. I called her back within a minute of receiving the voicemail. I hit the number 1 option on my key pad and it automatically ended the call. I tried this again 3 times and it kept ending it so I concluded this wasn't the correct option. The first "option" listed on the automated message was to dial 7, which was the provider on call. This seemed a little weird for me to call the provider on call but that's what I was instructed to do so I did it. I called and the provider sounded less than happy to receive my phone call and in fact HUNG UP before I could even get a full sentence out. Clearly I wasn't supposed to call that number, but you would think the provider could have at least heard my first sentence and nicely said this is the wrong line for this and redirected me. It was clearly an accident and could have been handled a lot nicer and, most importantly, more professionally. I was extremely disappointed with the results I got from today's efforts. I would have been fine calling back on Monday to try to schedule. The fact that the providers were so quick to be rude made me instantly change my mind and look at Penn and Jefferson health. Maybe work on better communication and phone etiquette and you won't lose patients from a basic interaction!

The wonderful part was that I was not a patient under her care at the time of the question. This shows that she has really good character and is willing to help when she can. She puts humanity back into medicine and I am thankful and grateful for her time.

I pursued a mammogram and there were abnormalities that required further investigation. Of course, I was nervous. I was on the road for work and had a small window of opportunity for her to contact me for results. I emailed the practice with the times I would be available. She made sure that she contacted me during that window and she was clear, compassionate with providing the results and invited me to contact her with any questions that may arise. Big time, thumbs up.

I enjoyed all of my doctors I saw there but DHN is the absolute worst. My favorite NP left and so did the receptionist and since then they have had a revolving door of staff. Every time I call I speak to someone who is utterly incompetent which is the absolute worst when contacting a doctors office. Dr. Patton is retiring and I'm sure Dr. Ruth will be following. They made appointments I didn't ask for and could never get me appointments I did need. I can't even begin to explain all that they've done but steer clear.

The practice is pristine (as always), most understanding (of our anxiety) and there was nothing to worry about upon booking, arriving, being escorted to the nearest room and administering our needs. We can now relax and know our medical care is in very good hands post Covid as it was pre-Covid. Sometimes it just takes breaking the barrier of fear. She has an Appointment in January of 2020 but she needs to come in to get a check up before an out patient procedure can be scheduled. The front desk said that an appointment can only be scheduled 2 months out. I'm not sure what we'll do. I wouldn't recommend depending on this practice for family members who frequently require doctors care.

Dr. Vernace is absolutely amazing. His attention to detail…read moreis far better than many Doctors. He's a kidney specialist at Doylestown hospital. A Nephrologist that I would highly recommend. I've been seeing him for over two years and I'm impressed by his care. He spends a great amount of time explaining kidney issues with his patients. I am a bit concerned with the staff communication. I've been put on two different medications for my Chronic Kidney Disease. Farxiga and Jardiance. In both cases the medicines are very expensive. I required a pre-certification from my insurance (Aetna). Originally I received three weeks of samples of Jardiance after Farxiga did not agree with me. (causing severe pain in my back and groin pain). The staff was extremely stagnant on obtaining the pre-cert. it took me over 2 weeks and numerous calls to the pharmacy, Aetna and the doctors office. Ryan finally took care of this. After final approval for Jardiance it was creating blood in my stool and have been light headed. I've discontinued the use of both these medications. I also tried to make an appointment after the original prescription for Jardiance for a year out as per the doctors instructions. The receptionist informed me "their system doesn't allow them to schedule that far out" I should call back in January of 2026". I found that odd. I believe they may be understaffed, therefore causing some internal issues. I do have concern with one of the staffs performance. I don't know her name. Two weeks trying to get approval and having the paperwork done properly (pre-cert). Thanks to Ryan the process was finally handled quickly. Although I highly recommend the doctor himself there needs to be some updates to their systems and the staff members trainings. If in the hospital and Dr. Vernace is there you are in great hands!
