I brought my kitten Willow there this evening to get his last shot that he needed. I had been looking around since I had gotten my kitten wanting the best, and I found it. As soon as I walked in (there's two doors by the way, one for cats, and one for dogs, to keep them separate as much as possible, it's great), the receptionists were all happy, great at what they do, and really friendly. My appointment was at 7:30 and I got there a few minutes before. I was brought to the cat section by one of the receptionists (it's fantastic) where there was the boutique with all the cat stuff. I only waited a few minutes for the vet tech and she was lovely! She was so incredibly informative and as it was willow's first vet visit, it was my first one too. Everything went fantastic, the vet is fantastic and kept my kitten calm during his shot. I had every single question I had answered with a smile, which felt great considering this is my first cat. 100% recommend, I don't have a single bad thing to say. It's average priced as I had called around, and it's fantastic. Update: went for willow's yearly shots, and brought my new kitten too. Once again, 10/10 service

I have a lot of cats. All are rescued strays who have had a rough go of it before coming to live…read morewith us and many of them have medical issues due to their life "on the streets". As a west island resident, I have tried many veterinary clinics in the area including the Pierrefonds Animal Hospital, Anima Plus in Ile Perrot and the DMV in Lachine. Each has their own areas of strength (and some have LOTS of weaknesses), but I have found that Dr. Nina Gauthier at the Timberlea clinic is the most consistent, reliable and compassionate vet that I have dealt with in a long time. I have brought cats to her with issues ranging from a simple flea infestation to thyroid disease, calcivirus and cancer. In every instance she took the time to properly diagnose the animal, research & propose treatment options and come up with an effective solution that takes our multi-cat household into consideration. When our fur-babies get sick, it is always stressful, since they can't tell us what's wrong - and we can't explain that we're trying to help them, but Dr. Gauthier takes the time to answer my questions and is always patient and kind with the animals - even when they pee on her out of fear of a 1st-time vet visit! The team of technicians, support staff, assistants and groomers are also caring and friendly and give me the confidence to leave my animals in their care. I feel like they will treat my cats as they would their own. The Timberlea clinic is equipped to do most diagnostic tests (except CT scans) as well as general surgeries and even dental extractions. The one drawback is that if an animal requires hospitalization, there is no technician on staff overnight to check in and take action if complications arise. For this reason, I take my cats to the DMV in Laval (NOT Lachine) when I know they will require an overnight stay. There is also an extensive boutique with lots of unique pet products as well as a good selection of food & treats. Prices both in the boutique and for vet services are about average for what you would pay at any local vet, and much less expensive than the DMV emergency clinic. I am a BIG fan of this clinic and all it has to offer and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for superior care for their animals.

A complete and utter disappointment for myself but most importantly for my now deceased dog Simba…read more Sadly my regular vet left his practice and I was in need of a new one. At the beginning, for normal vet care they were sufficient, but later, once my dog began to show signs of illness, such as peeing in the house, lethargy, no interest in walks anymore, etc., which I reported to them, I was shut down time and time again and told my dog was fine. We had blood tests run and heartworm test done, all the vaccines they could load into my dog (6 at once on one occasion) and medication for his allergies. 5 weeks before my dog's horrific death on my front balcony I once again went in to tell them something was seriously wrong with my dog was once again told there was nothing wrong with him, even though at this point he would no longer walk. I was told an arthritis shot should be considered. He was 7 years old after all. A few weeks later my dog collapsed and had to be lifted in to a wheel barrow (he was 130 pounds and we could barely lift him) to try to rush him the the DMV in Lachine. Sadly he died in the back of our truck before we make it. I called Poirier O'Brien to try to get some sort of clarity on why my dog was dead. A vet who I had never dealt with before called me back and told me, to my horror, that after her review of the file the test results in my dog's file indicated that my dog had cancer, something that Dr. Emily Thompson had somehow missed. I now have to live with the fact that I let my dog down, that my dog must have suffered horribly with pain from cancer and finally a horrifying death which I won't go into detail because it simply hurts too much. I normally don't leave reviews but I think in this case I would not want anyone to go through what I, but more importantly my dog, went through. My last note is that I thought perhaps the owners would have the kindness or decency to at least contact me but to this day, approximately 4 months later, I have not heard a word from them. I think that in itself is self-explanatory.

Dr. O'Brien is the best vet I have been to in Chateauguay. I have lived here for 55 years and…read moretried most of them. The clinic is professional and well kept and pleasant. There are private rooms for you and her staff are sensitive and informed when difficult procedures are taking place. Dr O'Brien's love of her job is evident in how affectionate she is with her clients. I have only had one other vet ever get down on the floor with my pet and nuzzle them. But she does this every time. She is professional and thorough, her recommendations are clear, she provides her opinions and as many options as possible and let's you come to your informed decision. When providing the options for treatment Dr. O'Brien advised us on the cost, laid out our options with all the varying paths and we chose together how we would figure out the problem. Actions were taken on a step by step basis as in many things it is not always easy to diagnose precisely without tests. I don't think a quality vet practice is cheap to run. This is a reality and in many ways you get what you pay for. But above this there are somethings that money can't buy and that is a bed side manner that is second to none, humanity and caring, this woman and Dr. has it. The other Dr's in this practice are like minded and this makes them a strong unified team. If money is a problem, speak up, she will do her very best with all options to find you what are your best options to look after your family member. She certainly did this with us. Her follow up personal phone calls are something I have never seen before in any vet. When you want someone who cares and is experienced and only wants what is best for your family member when they are at their most vulnerable. Go here, She is a wonderful human and a great vet.
