Giving this place 1 star only bc I'm required to in order to post this review. Their customer…read moreservice is horrific and their inhumanity for life is repulsive. My dog having been a past (not current) patient of theirs started having seizures last night. Our current vet was closed, and we saw online that they offered 24 hour emergency care. We called to inform them we were planning on heading their way and were shot down the second they saw our dog wasn't a current patient. Told us to drive an hour East to Burlington to have our dog seen while he's foaming at the mouth and shaking from his attacks. Called back the next day to confirm this was how they operate during emergencies and was told not to complain to the answering service, and to call back Monday. They need to change their online profile to "24 hour emergency care only for those qualified" STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. IF YOU'RE A VET LOOKING TO OPEN PROPER EMERGENCY ANIMAL CLINIC IN PLATTSBURGH, PLEASE DO!

I'm beyond angry right now. Less than a year ago, we had to put our dog down due to kidney failure…read more We went here for him, and spent over 1000 dollars for him. Apparently because he's now passed, we're not considered "current" and my new pup, who fell down the stairs and hurt herself, is not going to be seen because of this. I can't believe how this vet treated us. Never again will we go there. Don't waste your time. We thought they were good, but apparently they're only good as long as they're collecting money from you. Once they've collected their fee for putting your dog down, both you and your dogs are dead to them. Lesson learned. Thanks for nothing, Eagle's Nest.

So I have been meaning to do this review for awhile but I have mixed feelings as the staff here was…read morevery friendly. After using BEVS for my dog's first initial hospital vet care visit when living in Vermont, I chose to try Tannenberger as it was closer to me than BEVS. I was hopeful because they seemed eager to help me and see my dog Bonnie to give her the care she needed. If I could give five stars for friendliness amd hospitality, I would. Where they fell short was the fact that after doing the initial intake and consult for my dog, I was told that they mised up her blood sample and that I would have to come in again. This was cumbersome for me as I don't own a vehicle and had to utilize a local taxi service to get to and from this location. My dog had not been eating, was running a fever, and was lethargic. Again, they were very kind and welcoming, but to me mixing up a blood sample in a pathology lab in a hospital would warrant a visit from the hospital's joint commission or committee that oversees health regulations and compliance/quality control. A pet's health should be taken just as seriously as a human's because it is a living thing and veterinary care is costly. I already had to pay $4000+ out of pocket for emergency care at BEVS in Burlington, so to have pay another $1,000 (as that is what it costed at Tanneberger) is just downright deplorable. Now I don't wish to sound like a Karen but mixing up blood samples and paying $1000 just to have my dog's vitals evaluated is obscene. I had been tracking my dog's I&O's (input/intake and output) on my own and her temperature and gave her a pet friendly NSAID/fever reducer that BEVS prescribed, but I was hoping for a bit more comprehensive care than what I was offered. BEVS suspected that she had a parasitic infection so they also prescribed itraconazole but when they test for that came back negative I was back to square one, hence why I reached out to Tannenberger. Perhaps she just had a stomach bug/flu or maybe food poisoning, but I owe an extra $1000 on top of the $4000 I owe to BEVS. I think $1000 for vitals to be assessed is a bit much:/ The vet did ask me what I can pay or how much I can afford which I said I am hoping to stay under $1,000 and what do you know, I was charged exactly around $1,000. The sad part is the vet seemed really nice as did the girls at the front desk, but to me it is inexcusable and felt like they were price gouging me and taking advantage of a new patient. I also was not local to Vermont (originally from Miami, FL and have moved around quite a bit) and Saint Albans is a small town where everyone knows everybody I think, but I even told them that I was not working presently, and I was still charged around $1,000 and also given wrong information about her bloodwork (that her calcium levels were high). She did bring my awareness to some lumps on her chest that they aspirated and took a sample of, but I also assessed that they were probably fatty deposits/lipomas. When I brought Bonnie home I did a very thorough massage on her (lymphatic drainage as I was certified infant massage) and made sure to target those areas, and luckily the large lumps went away. I wish to give three stars for friendliness and amicability but I just think the mixup with the bloodwork was something that could have been avoided. If you are a pet parent reading this, just make sure you do your due diligence in finding the right care for your pet. They truky are man's best friend and I am grateful that Bonnie is alove to this day because I was sincerely afraid that her health was deteriorating and that I was going to have to make some very hard and drastic decisions on whether or not to put her down as she wasn't eating, was frequently urinating and defecating everywhere. She had a persistent cough reminiscent of a hacking sound and was very weak and lethargic, which are all signs of poor health. Thankfully, she is eating happily, playful, energetic, and lively. I was going to give the place two stars but changed it to three since they at least allowed her to be seen and squeezed me in for an appointment and greeted me in a friendly manner. They also did refund me for the bloodowork mix up ($250 refund back) but still I think $1000 is a bit much for a vet visit, though as close relatives have told me, vet hospital bills are known for being quite hefty and costly. So make sure you do your homework and research the clinic before going to it.

I would probably avoid Tanneberger's. Nothing against the vets, but they are employees of the…read morepractice which is owned by a larger entity. I have been with this clinic for 15 years and called recently to get a prescription refilled to Costco. They told me they were no longer doing this and now require you to go to the office in person for a paper prescription. I called this morning to see when I could pick up the paper prescription but they told me their printer was out of order and they were "working on it". The receptionist told me they were not going to call the prescription in as it was a new policy, so I told her I would not be returning. Then she told me I was "not the kind of person they want in their practice". I told her there was really no need to talk to me like that; after all, after 15 years and 3 cats and 2 dogs going every 6-12 months at $1,000 a whack, I've spent countless thousands of dollars there. Not a way to treat a good, paying, established patient. This practice has ALWAYS had the reputation for being too expensive, and I won't repeat a lot of what people say about it but there are plenty of negative reviews about it online. This is the first time I actually really felt it was a money grab, with the practice preferring you to buy the medication from them and making it so inconvenient to get a refill. I have jumped through hoops to get all the pets there on time for their physicals so that they could always get their prescriptions refilled and have even gone to BEVS at Tanneberger's request when the pets needed something. Now apparently I am not welcome because I don't like their policies? I am not sure if this is what the industry is doing, but it's bad service and makes me not want to have any more pets.
