The looks of the variety to put on your baked hot potato, is delightful! I love the colorful sauces and the different toppings! It was great! It's a good vegetarian spot, but if you want the meat, there's chicken or tuna to choose as alternatives. They offer cheese too. I liked the arugula, saffron sauce and the jalapeños, gave the potato a nice kick. The owner is nice and friendly. It's more or less 6 euros for this potato meal! Right on and good deal! read more

Best baked potatoes I've ever had in my life. These totally sh*t on the ones in America. When my vegetarian friend told me about this place, I was really "meh" about it since the ones in America aren't anything amazing. I was honestly thinking what could be so amazing about "baked potatoes". Went with her anyways and was immediately hooked. Comes out piping hot and with so many different flavors , sauces, proteins [not too many], and vegetables too. Not too many protein choices though, from what I remember it was just chicken and tuna? Either way, it was pretty healthy and affordable. Def worth it and made me see baked potatoes in a whole new light. Staff is friendly and willing to give you suggestions too . 4.5 stars really. Food was very tasty and creative. The place was clean, and the service was as friendly as it was efficient. I was very happy to find this place on a cold afternoon, and to discover that underneath the lovely fresh and wild mix of toppings, there was an expertly baked potato: very thick in texture but not too starchy, dry or heavy, and moist but not watery. I want to give it 5 stars but can't, mainly because of the other patrons (very loud) and the lack of insulation on the bottoms of the chairs. You judge me because that's really picky, but it's hard to enjoy a meal when every 10 seconds the sound of hollow metal chairs RIIIIIIPSSSSS across the concrete floor right into your ear. After a long weekend of heavy drinking and greasy food to survive all the celebrations my body was screaming for some better nutrition on Sunday so I picked this Kumpir place. As typical for Berlin and this area especially, it is a small place with cool owners who are (most of the time) really good at whatever their offering... You have 4 (or was it 5 ) standard Kumpirs to choose from but you can also mix and match whatever you want on it. Holy potato! This place is the stuff of dreams. It's a unique concept -- slice open a potato, fill it full of butter, then pile on mountains of seemingly random toppings -- but it turns out to be a slice of genius. The vegetables were delicious and fresh, the toppings were full of flavor, and the entire thing was quite near perfect. I highly recommend the curry sauce! The two guys behind the counter were extremely nice, and offered us some Turkish tea with our meal. It was a great experience, and I definitely want to return the next time I'm in Berlin! read more

Longer version (for the brave) - had my eyes on this place some time ago, and finally had the time to come check it out. This place is in the heart of friedrichshain, close to boxi-platz. It's rather small, but full of good vibes and yummy food! So we started with asking "so, how does this work?" And the answer is - however you want! You can choose the pre-made dishes (and change a bit) or make one of your own. We took the spicy one, with nachos on top (already included in the dish) - I modified it a bit to my taste of course, and added "white cheese" for 50 cents extra. Got our grape flavor fritz and now we're ready to taste! At the beginning, and I must be honest here - I thought "wow that's a tiny potato for this price", but the guys were putting so many toppings on it I could barely finish! It was so tasty I had to take the peel off just so I can have some more of this yummy potato! Service was great, prices are fair. Get it while it's hot! read more

Man I don't know what's up with Berlin today, but the service at this place was very snappy. The girl behind the counter looked less than pleased about us building our own dishes. Once we received them they were decent but mostly over sauced. I had asked for chicken to be added and when I went back in as it was forgotten the girl once again gave me a huffy sigh. First off, I would give Patta a 3.5 if I could, and I will probably eat there again and hopefully be able to increase my rating. The restaurant is small but nice with outdoor seating and a very friendly staff. The mistake I made was taking their recommendation of 3 sauces on my Patta Chicken. The potatoes already come loaded with toppings, which is awesome, so the last thing they need is to be literally swimming in sauce. That's not to say that the sauces aren't delicious! I ok'd the recommended yogurt, saffron & eggplant sauces on my tater and it was simply too much. And I LOVE sauce but I didn't need 3 ladles of it. By the time I had spooned through all of the toppings and sauce to finally reach the yummy potato, I was so full I barely ate any of the actual spud. So sad! Next time, I will only go for 1 or 2 sauces and ask for only half of the sauce serving size. Other than the overwhelming sauce portions, the potato was really tasty and I love their wide selection of toppings! And that they appreciate jalapeños! The price point isn't bad, especially since the Patta are so filling. I hope to be able to post a review with a higher rating after my next visit, now that I know how to customize my order. read more

Fantastic little place! Great Vegan options! Love their super tasty stuffed baked potatoes that leave you feeling energetic and happy afterwards! I loved the vegan options! We got the Mexican style one with kidney beans, jalapenos, arugula, corn, black and white sesame sprinkle and roasted bell pepper sauce- It came with tortilla chips but I opted not to get those :) I only gave it 4 stars because I wish they sued fresher ingredients.
