Attended a cat-themed bingo night here and really loved it! The perfect way for my wife and I to spend a quiet Pride night. When our friends invited us for a night meow-t (sorry) here we were a bit wary - after all, we didn't want to cheat on our two very large, very lovable cats at home. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the experience, and we only sort of felt guilty for ditching our fuzzy friends. Patriot Pawsibilities is not a cat cafe - it's a cat lounge, so no food is directly available here, but their policy does say you can bring your own items from local shops. For Cat Bingo, light snacks and refreshments were provided, and perhaps they'll do further events with food in the future. These cats are very, very well cared for. They have tubes, tunnels, and ledges all over the walls and ceilings for them to explore, tons of cat trees, a literal cat tree in the center of the room (basically a large tree-shaped set of shelves for the kitties to climb), hammocks, chairs, you name it. Kittens and newbies are kept in a separate room that has slightly different rules. The staff explained their kitty quarantine protocols, which sounded very thorough. And they rescue cats from ALL over. Literally, they had just taken in a litter of kitties shipped in from Kuwait. These are clearly very passionate cat people, and cat people are my people. I was surprised by how friendly and loving all the cats were - probably because they're able to relax knowing they're so well-cared for. We especially bonded with Lol, Bulldog, and Bojangles, and spent a lot of time playing with some of the younger cats, including a little guy named Barnacle. Sunny, a cat recovering from a coyote attack, has his own separate room where you can go and pay tribute as he is a very brave and handsome man. All of the cats, to my knowledge, are adoptable. Sadly, our two 18-pound kitties do not have any room in their hearts to welcome a new brother or sister into the family. A small shop out front sells cat-themed merchandise. We bought a "Fat Cat Fan Club" pin, and some handmade catnip toys as recompense for our friends not so patiently waiting back home. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more events here. There are so many possibilities. Cat trivia? Screening of the 2019 film Cats while petting cats? Pints and Pets? Wine tasting with cats? I'm not sure if a cat rescue can obtain a liquor license, but if they ever do, I'm here for it.

this review is long overdue, but we are so thankful and happy to have found Patriot Pawsibilities! It's not the typical cat cafe but more of a large foster home for cats and kittens that need a forever home. Mo, the owner, is very dedicated and passionate in keeping a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The cats are well fed, has plenty of toys, and time to rest and socialize. After 3 visits to play and learn about the adoption process, we adopted a bonded pair of cats from the lounge in mid-August. The lounge works with two rescue organizations that regularly provide cats with vet care. We were provided with the cats' past vet records and open communication on how to best get them to acclimate to our home. Highly recommend them for those in the DMV area looking to adopt cats!

I absolutely loved this place. Went here with my boyfriend and it was so much fun. The cats-- as well as the employees-- were super friendly. I would absolutely recommend coming here! It's affordable, fun, and so super cute.

My experience here was great! The owner is so nice. I love that all cats here are adoptable and that they are socialized from the guests that come in and being around lots of different cats. You can pay a small fee that goes to the adoptable animals and workers there to play with adorable kittens and cats!!! This place is amazing.

As much as I love kitty's , I travel too much to be able to be a pet owner . So whenever Mini and I want to cuddle some kitties we head over to this place. There is a kitten room and a cat room . We like to spend time in both . All the kittys are up for adoption here and it's great that you get to be in an environment that allows you to interact with them . They do charge a per hour fee and they do only allow so many younger kids in at a time so that it's not too chaotic for the animals . If bringing a little one , be sure to make reservations in advance .

This was such a fun experience!!! The cats were so cute and fun to play with, the hour really goes by fast! The pass prices are very affordable and worth it. Especially for students! Definitely coming back soon. :)

We love Patriot Pawsabilities! The staff is so friendly and they take excellent care of the cats. They helped us find our new fur baby and we couldn't be more happier! Highly recommend going and enjoying with the cats even if you can't adopt one.

I spend more time here than I should considering finals are in 3 weeks. The owner is so sweet and an amazing woman to start such an amazing organization to increase the adoption rate of local cats and kittens. The cats and kittens are so cute! 100% recommend. I'm in love

Cute place! They have many many cats. They lay down the rules for you in the beginning, but it is super chill and relaxing! You are welcome to bring food of your own and give discounts to GMU students! They have a bunch of tables and desks to work on and board games/puzzles!

The rescue has no physical location and no working phone number, so all communication was limited to email. The adoption application was excessively long and invasive. Despite promptly providing vet records after an initial denial, our application continued to be dismissed without meaningful discussion. Kim, the point of contact, refused phone communication and was curt and dismissive in her responses. We were encouraged to attend an in-person adoption event, where we answered extensive questions and explained that we had a dedicated room and accommodations for Melon. Even then, Kim remained hesitant. We later learned Melon has been in foster care for 18 months, which raises serious concerns about this rescue's adoption practices. Kim made a condescending remark suggesting Melon's foster would have "more to say after we left," which was unprofessional and inappropriate. We were then asked to foster Melon temporarily, agreed, and have since heard nothing back. Based on this experience--and after reading similar complaints on Yelp--I will be contacting the PetSmart in Sterling regarding this rescue's conduct. This appears to be a pattern, and it is unacceptable. I would not recommend this organization to anyone looking to adopt.

I am 100% sure they kidnapped my cat from my community and hostage her for donation and selling as a business rather than a non profit organization. Pure intention matters! I have donated to multiple organizations monthly base, raising fund for good purpose, money is not a problem for me. However, I don't want to reward bad behaviors. The missing time for my cat and the one they posted online matches and the very detailed stripes pattern matches. It's questionable that one employee said she from North Carolina, another one said she from West Virginia. I have my cat since she was born, I can recognize this cat from eye contact. Well, if you know your children, you know them by the spirit, right? I sent them many details to JUST take a look, they refused. It's not built to help ppl or animals at all. I will show how my cat look like and how sick she is now in their foster home. I'm deeply saddened and worried about her. She is territorial as a cat does. She has been a happy cat in her own home, wtf they think this is a rescue. Now I have to either kiss their ass or be assertive to fight against this negativity just to get her rescued from these horrible ppl. F that! If they don't practice as ethical as it should be, this is a big big issue! I put the photos of how my cat looked before and how she looks now in their foster homes(one with name caption) I am seriously furious and frustrated about this. If they couldn't give me an explanation why they made it so difficult to meet the cat. I have to say I will use my popularity and influence to the extreme to make things right!!!

My experience with Lara and Shera was unfortunately not a good one…read more Lara, our assigned trainer, presented me with a prong collar at the initial assessment for our 35lb basset hound and told me that this was an "essential training tool" that is "very common". We found out later that this was not true - in fact, most people were horrified that we had allowed our dog to be trained this way. I'll front this by saying my husband and I did not do a whole lot of research on different training methods beforehand and are first-time dog owners, but looking back, we really wish we had pushed back on this. The combination of the collar and Lara's request to withhold all dry food except in training turned our formerly sweet and scared dog into an aggressive food guarder who was still scared to go on walks, but now growled and snapped at our cats. After 4 sessions, we consulted a behaviorist and told Lara and Shera we would be switching to another trainer on their recommendation. We received very defensive emails from both of them about the impropriety of seeing a behaviorist without their knowledge(!), but Shera agreed to refund our remaining sessions. When we still hadn't received a check five weeks later, I sent a follow-up and got back a reply complaining about my "combative" attitude (though she did then promptly issue a refund through PayPal.). Grateful to finally be done with them.

I thought it was too early, but my husband convinced me that the earlier the better and he was right! We did a lot of research on yelp and other sources. The reviews we read about Pawfect Pups made us feel like there was something different about Pawfect Pups. Shera did such a great job addressing our problem areas at each session and worked with all of us to teach Maggie commands. Before we started, Maggie was a pretty stubborn little puppy and she was biting on pant legs, socks, blankets, and even my hair, snatching up any food that was dropped on the floor. Shera helped us work with Maggie to fix those habits and even taught us a variety of commands. Each session was focused on Maggie's concerns. I never felt like she was following a curriculum. Everything was very customized for our pup. We also really liked that we were an active part of each training session. People always compliment us on how well behaved Maggie is. My husband and I tell each other over and over again that finding Pawfect Pups was the best thing. Thanks Shera!
