Absolutely adorable! We had some extra time in the area, so we decided to stop by to see some kitties. After getting the rundown of the rules and information, we paid and placed our shoes in the front area. (It's socks only, so my husband borrowed a pair of slippers, as we hadn't pre-planned footwear for our visit.) Once inside, there were so many kitties to visit and plenty of places to relax. It's clear that the cats and facility are very well cared for, as even the floors and corners were being meticulously cleaned during our visit. Visitors are asked to utilize the hand sanitizer when moving between the spaces to minimize potential infections. The cats were relaxed and comfortable with many spaces to run and nap. An orange fluffy girl was being a hissy diva to the other cats, but she absolutely loved people. She crawled into my lap and made it her throne for a while. There's also a separate room for the kittens with plenty of toys for play. They went absolutely bonkers for the wand toys and found cozy spots for naps when they were all tired out. We really enjoyed our visit, and we would definitely return in the future for an afternoon of kitty snuggles. read more

Went here to pet some cats and decompress and the studio is so nice and clean. The owners are so kind and you can tell they are passionate about taking care of of all the cats. The owner even taught me about the appropriate way to pet cats to ensure they feel comfortable with you. When I first arrived I forgot to bring socks and they were kind enough to provide me a pair and explain the rules of the studio. They have you sanitize your hand between every room you move into and the floors and couch's were in clean condition. My favorite room was the kitten room, a little gray kitten sat on my lap and cuddled with me they were all so sweet . The cats are up for adoption and this service is a great way for them to be desensitized, I will be back in the future for some more cuddles‍ read more

I love coming here with my friends. The owner, Ms. Mo, who is also a veteran, is the sweetest person. She cries every time a cat gets adopted because she becomes so attached, which honestly makes the place even more special. I am also really impressed by how clean the cafe is. I have been to several other cat cafes, and they usually smell at least a little, but this one does not at all. There are plenty of toys to play with the cats, a kitten room, and a quiet room, which I really appreciate. It gives cats with certain personalities a chance to relax away from others when things feel overwhelming. The George Mason volunteers are incredibly thoughtful and kind to the cats, and they even learn every cat's name, even if they are only volunteering for a short time. Most of the cats were rescued from Kuwait and had been placed on kill lists simply for being labeled "ugly" or for having disabilities. I really love that no cat is overlooked here and that everyone is welcome. Even the bathroom has adorable sticky notes reminding you that you are beautiful. Patriot Pawsabilities is definitely my favorite cat cafe, and it is very affordable too. I highly recommend stopping by. They even post monthly activities on Facebook, like yoga or movie nights, which makes it even more fun to visit. read more

A cat café that seems to like rules more than it likes people. I stopped by with my 3-year-old, who's calm and gentle, thinking we might spend a few minutes with the cats and maybe meet one to adopt. Instead, we were turned away because children aren't allowed on weekdays. Sure, I'm sure that policy is listed somewhere in the small print. But if your goal is to encourage adoption, maybe start by welcoming the kinds of people who actually adopt pets -- families, not just weekend customers with coffee. The inconsistency (kids allowed on weekends, banned mid-week) makes the rule feel less about the cats and more about convenience. If compassion is supposed to be the brand, it didn't show up here. read more

Attended a cat-themed bingo night here and really loved it! The perfect way for my wife and I to spend a quiet Pride night. When our friends invited us for a night meow-t (sorry) here we were a bit wary - after all, we didn't want to cheat on our two very large, very lovable cats at home. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the experience, and we only sort of felt guilty for ditching our fuzzy friends. Patriot Pawsibilities is not a cat cafe - it's a cat lounge, so no food is directly available here, but their policy does say you can bring your own items from local shops. For Cat Bingo, light snacks and refreshments were provided, and perhaps they'll do further events with food in the future. These cats are very, very well cared for. They have tubes, tunnels, and ledges all over the walls and ceilings for them to explore, tons of cat trees, a literal cat tree in the center of the room (basically a large tree-shaped set of shelves for the kitties to climb), hammocks, chairs, you name it. Kittens and newbies are kept in a separate room that has slightly different rules. The staff explained their kitty quarantine protocols, which sounded very thorough. And they rescue cats from ALL over. Literally, they had just taken in a litter of kitties shipped in from Kuwait. These are clearly very passionate cat people, and cat people are my people. I was surprised by how friendly and loving all the cats were - probably because they're able to relax knowing they're so well-cared for. We especially bonded with Lol, Bulldog, and Bojangles, and spent a lot of time playing with some of the younger cats, including a little guy named Barnacle. Sunny, a cat recovering from a coyote attack, has his own separate room where you can go and pay tribute as he is a very brave and handsome man. All of the cats, to my knowledge, are adoptable. Sadly, our two 18-pound kitties do not have any room in their hearts to welcome a new brother or sister into the family. A small shop out front sells cat-themed merchandise. We bought a "Fat Cat Fan Club" pin, and some handmade catnip toys as recompense for our friends not so patiently waiting back home. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more events here. There are so many possibilities. Cat trivia? Screening of the 2019 film Cats while petting cats? Pints and Pets? Wine tasting with cats? I'm not sure if a cat rescue can obtain a liquor license, but if they ever do, I'm here for it. read more

this review is long overdue, but we are so thankful and happy to have found Patriot Pawsibilities! It's not the typical cat cafe but more of a large foster home for cats and kittens that need a forever home. Mo, the owner, is very dedicated and passionate in keeping a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The cats are well fed, has plenty of toys, and time to rest and socialize. After 3 visits to play and learn about the adoption process, we adopted a bonded pair of cats from the lounge in mid-August. The lounge works with two rescue organizations that regularly provide cats with vet care. We were provided with the cats' past vet records and open communication on how to best get them to acclimate to our home. Highly recommend them for those in the DMV area looking to adopt cats! read more

I'm not a pet person, but my kids have been asking for a pet so I wanted to explore the idea of a cat since I think one of them is allergic to dogs. The pics online/social were so cute so I was kind of excited to come. We called for a reservation which is highly recommended and they may turn people away. I think that is best given there are not a lot of cats at times (or they are shy hiding) and its good to have space to spread out. A handful of cats were more friendly/social and would come by, several were napping. I was a bit worried that my kids would not know how to act but they were very sweet with the cats. The main worker explained rules and came by with reminders about time and also if we wanted to go into the smaller kitten section. The place was very clean and did not have any smells which surprised me pleasantly. During week the lower age limit is 4 years old and weekend is 7 years old which I think its appropriate. It's relatively pricey but I think its for a good cause and experience. We will probably come by a few more times, I hope. You can bring in your own food, and there is one big table and several chairs spread out. I would be careful though because the cats have free reign to jump anywhere. read more

This was my second time going to a cat cafe; I went to mt purnnon a couple months ago, which cost $20 per person. As of July 2022, the price here was $17 per person here (it was a couple dollars cheaper for my sister and mom due to healthcare and student discounts) and this was my first time here, I came with my sister and mom . This place had more cats and was spacious. Since it was a weekday and around lunch time, it wasn't too busy, and we were helped quickly. I didn't have socks since I was wearing sandals, and they said it's a "shoe free zone" so you have to wear socks so it's really nice that they provide some in case someone doesn't have any. Since my mom is over 62 she didn't have to wear socks they said, and they described all the rules of care and caution to us before going in. My only critique is that on their website there is no pricing and no online booking System. The woman said that you have to call to book a slot/appt, so if you want to go on weekends that is your best bet! The cats were so cute and it was a nice variety of ages and activity levels, there's lots of seating and they clean regularly throughout the visit so this wasn't enough for me to want to take off a star, but it would be nice. :) I definitely recommend this location! read more

Discovered one of my favorite places to be! We are cat owners and are considering another, and Patriot Pawsibilities is a great place to get to know different cat personalities to see what is the right fit. However, don't get attached! The cats may already be adopted. The place is immaculately clean, has extremely friendly and helpful staff. Also, I appreciate that they had slippers/socks that were super clean to wear inside the actual cat lounge. There are so many cats all over the place in different nooks and crannies. This is good for kids if they can follow rules to respect cats' space (e.g., no hand inside the tunnels, no disturbing sleeping cats, no picking up -- only adults, walking only). It was good for my kids who are familiar with cats and great way to spend an hour soaking in new kitty love. The staff will let you know when your hour is up. Highly recommend reserving a time slot. This place may be a little hard to spot because it just recently opened. The place is fairly spacious. Inside is a kitty cat's paradise with wall to wall tunnels, cat steps and decorations. It's filled with various cat toys and beds all for the sole comfort of its residents. There is also a separate area designated for kittens. My son really wanted to go to a cat cafe for his birthday, so we made a reservation for a private party for an hour (we were able to have up to 10 guests for $125). This gave us time for our family to play with the kitties, and also have time to enjoy the cupcakes we brought. It was the last hour on a Sunday evening, and they graciously let us stay while they were cleaning up and feeding the cats their dinner. A great place to visit if you enjoy cats, especially if you are looking to adopt, as most of the cats there are available for adoption.
