I had a wonderful pedicure experience today at Patrick's. Everyone was nice and friendly with a smile on also.

I went here a while back for lash extensions. The lady who did my extensions was very rude, narcissistic, and self-serving. I wanted a very natural lash look. I don't like the look of the super full, super thick, telltale lashes. I tried showing her a picture of the style of lashes that I wanted and she actually refused to look at the picture! I finally had to insist that she look at it, so she could give me the style that I wanted. So she glanced at it for one second and then claimed the person in the picture I showed her was wearing strip lashes, which was NOT true. The girl in the picture had been getting lash extensions for years, and l loved how natural they looked, which is what I wanted. They looked like her own lashes, just long and curled, which complemented her eyes nicely. That is what I wanted. Very simple. But this lady apparently didn't care what I (as the paying customer) wanted. Instead, she did what she wanted to do. She also kept complaining the entire time about how many eyelashes I have (??) and various other things. Of course, the lash extensions weren't my style, because she didn't even care to give me what I actually wanted. They were too extreme for me and overwhelmed my eyes. They really only looked good with a face full of makeup. I don't wear makeup a lot, so this is not what I was looking for. As I tried to tell her, I wanted something natural that would look good even when I was bare faced. But clearly she didn't care. Looking back, I wish I had not tipped her. She didn't deserve it. Not sure if she is still working here, and I wish I remembered her name, but I definitely won't be coming here ever again. She actually completely turned me off from lash extensions, so I'm not even sure if I'll EVER get them again. read more

I'm not sure if Jocelyn still works here but, she can do magic on hair! Every time I come home, I call her up and try to get an appointment. Apparently, I'm not the only one because she's always booked up. This salon caters to all kinds of hair. They also do nails and other treatments. It's really clean and the people who work here, take pride in their jobs. To be totally honest, I wouldn't get my hair done in Atlanta for the first 2 years that I lived there. Instead, I waited until I was back in Lansing, and came to Patrick's! They're that good! Seriously. Ask for Jocelyn. read more

I adore Chelsea! She saved my bleached out mess and made sure I looked how I wanted without judging my previous poor decisions. She makes helpful suggestions and knows a lot about hair and current trends. I feel like I'm chatting with an old friend during my appointments and I'm not usually a social person. Chelsea also fixed my pre-teen cousin's hair to her AND her mother's liking! The girl had decided to cut her own bangs and had quite big chunks missing on either side but after the fix, you couldn't tell. Chelsea cleverly layered it without sacrificing too much length. All of the other staff I've encountered were very friendly and professional and there is a reward punch card for products! read more

So my review is ONLY based on their massages. I typically try to get a massage due to chronic upper back pain. The Salon it's self is well placed and decorated. I barely had to wait long before I got in with my masseuse. She was professional and asked where and if the pressure was deep enough. She literally worked on my head, neck and upper back (some lower) for an hour. On top of that... for a GREAT price. Also, I like to talk while I have a massage. Keep in mind, not all like it or even good at it. This lady was a wonderful conversationalist. Thus my appointment was perfect and I made the appointmen only 2 days before I met her and she had a wide open schedule. I will DEFINITELY go again if I have the time and money. read more

Ive only been there once. I got a nice minty scalp massage and the haircut was great but the price was ridiculous. I have not returned since because I thought it was way more than I look to spend on a good 'do. Now I pay $65 for cut AND color. Really. The scalp massage is nice and they are professional but I can get the same awesome look for less and touch it up more frequently. read more

I love Patrick's, have been coming here for years and years. Melissa and Karen both do pedicures (several other ladies do, too, but I don' t know their names). I have feet issues (medical), so they are very good listeners and take care to make sure I am comfortable and that they are not hurting me. The vibrating/massaging tub-chairs are wonderful and very relaxing. Patrick's offers a HUGE array of services. This is THE place to visit on the west side for hair, nails, skin care, cosmetics, extensions, tanning, waxing, and massage. Mostly appt. only but if you just want your eyebrows done, stop in. Large, busy spa/salon with a wide array of services available. I had a gift card to Patrick's so I thought I would try it out. They are always busy and have a lot of stylists and nail techs there all of the time. I had an appointment, but I did notice they took walk ins as well. They had a wide variety of customers, who all seemed to be regulars. The only complaint I have is that the work stations looked a little sloppy. read more

Michelle Mcknight does an amazing job on my hair! She is very knowledgeable if you have a question on just about anything. I get the most amazing highlights from her and I always leave the salon feeling great! She takes me step by step while she styles my hair so I always learn a new way to wear it! It is official, a week later . . . . As I review my bank statement, I am compelled to write this complaint. I thought the urge to complain would pass, being that I have spent years in the customer service industry dealing with complaints that I despise reading, but I think your salon should be aware of how terribly unimpressed I was with the 130 dollars I spent on getting my make up and hair done at your salon. First of all, I am not a picky person when it comes to hair and make up. I have never had bad experiences at salons, because I really am outgoing and open to different styles and colors, in hair and make up. My make up stylist used no concealer and no foundation. (I am not someone with kid like pores/skin. I need foundation) Why was this even something she skipped all together, I have no idea. It is the basic canvas of make up! She did a smokey eye, where the shadows did not blend at all. I had to ask her to blend the shadow and eyebrow highlight together so it didn't look sloppy. The fall out from the smokey eye was not corrected. It gave me the appearance of dark circles/shadow under my eye. She did a nice dark liner, but the mascara was chunky and stuck my lashes together. She powdered my face quite a bit and used some bronzer/blush on my cheeks but with no foundation and the fall out from my eye shadow,my skin looked dirty. Her make up box was a mess. From what I could see the make up was of no consistent make up line at all. (Not Trucco, MAC, nothing). I was with friends on a special day . . . So I couldn't really make a scene, or complain. Also . . . I figured for what I had just received . . . that there was no way I was paying more than 25 dollars for make up. When the receptionist rang me up for 50 bucks I wanted to cry, It was like lighting 50 dollars on fire. I did tip my stylist. Then the hair. First off, I loved my hair . . . I truly did. But it fell out on the way to the car in the parking lot. My stylist used wide gapped bobby pins through out my entire head, which resulted in a very loose hold. It was for a long day of events, so why tight gapped pins for a secure hold were not used, is beyond me. I have had up dos done throughout high school and college and they have all lasted me through the next day even! Very disappointing! I am not from the area, So there is pretty much nothing your Salon could even do to help the situation. I will make sure that anyone I know in the Lansing area knows not to trust Patrick's salon with their precious time, money, and beauty regimen. I ended up having to re do my hair and make up & wasted over 100 bucks. read more

Leanne is the most jealous, passive-aggressive stylist that I have ever met. Her constant back-handed comments leaves the person sitting in her chair dumbfounded like "did she really just say that to me?" Comments like "oh, are you being dramatic today?" why? because I asked for a tissue? or "if you're not happy with my service, I would hope you would come to me about it and not go to my manager." Lady, if it wasn't for your mouth I'd continue going to see you. But after multiple attempts at trying to just get past the insults and jabs to get to a place where she saw I was a regular, I decided I'm done. I'll find somewhere else. Clearly she isn't looking for loyals. I work at a BIG place ... I'll be sure to spread the word about my experience with her on multiple occasions. In the beginning, I was like "Ok, I realize she may have had a bad day." the next time I thought "Ok, maybe she's jealous of me? But I'm kind; she'll see that." This last time, I realized "She is a miserable person and I don't need to subject myself to her presence." On top of that ......... all of the stylists there are rude. Over-talking like the customer isn't even in the chair. Carrying on conversations that started mid-appointment. I see the value in other salons where they ask the stylists to table conversations between each other and focus solely on the customer. I won't be back. It's too bad ... we needed lots of gift cards for the ladies at my work. read more
