I figure the easiest way to review them is to break it up into 3 areas: Sales/Contract, Videographer/Day of, and Final Video. This way I can describe how it went and offer some advice/things to look for... SALES/CONTRACT - The demo video was decent, and the price was right. By the time we got around to the videographer selection process, we were a little burned out - but they seemed to be reputable. They were willing to provide us with all of the raw footage in addition to the edited video. The contract (which I didn't notice at first) was a little vague. It basically stated the total cost. That's it. There was no break-down of what it included which caused issues closer to the wedding date when I wanted to confirm that there were going to be 2 cameras at the church. 2 cameras costs extra. In retrospect, I would have requested the contract have a break-down of the number of hours we were hiring them for, how many cameras at the church, how many cameras at the reception, and what we would receive after the wedding. I still think the price was right, though. VIDEOGRAPHER/DAY OF - Our videographer was AWESOME! He was punctual (a trait I always find attractive in a vendor), showing up at the hotel before the ceremony to take a few clips of the Bridal party and the Groomsmen getting ready. It was kind of nice that he sort of faded into the woodwork. I hardly knew he was there and he managed to get some really good shots. At the church he had 2 cameras set up (one un-manned in the choir loft & one in the side balcony). We got married at Stanford Memorial Church (MemChu) which unfortunately comes with MANY restrictions, but he worked around them as best he could. He even got some clips from around campus and of us getting our pictures taken after the ceremony. At the reception, he was everywhere we were. He stayed later than we had originally contracted him for since the 'mandatory' wedding festivities took longer than expected. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with. FINAL VIDEO - Raw footage DVD was fine -- what we expected. The edited DVD was so-so. The QUALITY of the video itself was great (obviously very-high quality cameras used), but there were a few small things that could have been improved to make a positive impact. ** First, there weren't any chapters built into the DVD. To get to a certain part of the ceremony or reception, we have to fast forward through everything. Chapters are not that hard to add. If you have hired them to do your wedding, request chapters on your DVD. ** Second, we had given them a list of songs to use for the edited video, but apparently we didn't give them enough since they ended up using extra songs on the DVD. Some of them were ok, some we weren't all that pleased with. Now we'll have to live with them forever. They should have either requested more songs on the original info sheet, or asked for more when they were putting the edited video together. ** Lastly, since MemChu required only THEIR sound equipment be used during the ceremony, BFW was given a CD with the recording of the wedding. Well, BFW didn't seem to use it. We had requested that the entire wedding ceremony be un-cut on the final edited video. BFW used different music for the processional and shows me walking down the aisle to something other than 'Here Comes the Bride'. After watching the raw footage, I realized that their camera speakers were near the organ and sounded 'blown out'. Yeah, their contract says they cannot be held responsible for extraneous noises such as ... loud bells, chimes, etc., but with a little extra effort, they could have used the church's sound CD with their video to provide an amazing DVD of our wedding ceremony. Overall, the company was great to work with. The people we worked with before, during and after the wedding were all friendly, professional and responsive. My inexperience in hiring videographers I believe led to SOME of my disappointment, but like I said before we were burned out by then. Things I didn't know to ask for and things I expected but didn't explicitly ask for will hopefully help others in working with BFW or even another videographer. Regardless, I watch the video every few months. Photos are nice, but the video brings it all back to life...

My husband and I hired Andy to do both photo and video for our Chinese bridal party, wedding…read moreceremony at San Francisco City Hall plus 2 outdoor SF locations, and Chinese dinner banquet at Koi Palace in Daly City. This consisted of 3 different days of shooting. Before the event days, we communicated through email and he was always very quick to respond to my questions and provide me with the information I requested for. He provided a clear contract with all details listed out so it was a very stress-free process. On the bridal party day, he was very punctual and arrived at my mother-in-law's home earlier than the planned meeting time. My husband and I met him for the first time that day and we immediately had a great first impression. He was very friendly and easy to work with. All of my family members complimented how hard working he was as he went around the house photographing every single detail. The house had lots of decorations and bridal food set up by my two mothers and he made sure to capture literally every inch. He was very respectful to all of my family when instructing everyone how to pose or organize in different areas of the home. I have a large family so there were many rotations of different groups for photos but he made it fun for everyone by offering suggestions for fun and candid poses. It made everyone feel more relaxed and less stiff. He really made us feel like we got all the shots we could possibly get. Everybody was happy and the event went smoothly. A week later, we got married at San Francisco City Hall. Andy and his partner arrived earlier than planned and got all of their equipment set up and ready so we would have all the entrances of us and our family captured before the ceremony. He had done numerous wedding shoots at SF City Hall in the past so he was able to be like a tour guide for us during the entire event. Before the signing, he took portrait photos of us and our intimate family. Then he led us to the clerk office and told us everything to be expected. He captured our signing and the entire ceremony at the rotunda. He always made sure to get the best angles without people in the background and politely asked others to please move aside so we could get a great shot. We really appreciated this. Our ceremony was on a Friday, which is the busiest day at City Hall for marriages, so there were so tons of people everywhere. But Andy tried so hard for us and always found the open spots for our chance. After taking every possible shot at City Hall, we headed out for an outdoor shoot at two locations of our choice in SF. First we went to Fort Point and took photos inside and around the Fort building. It was a very cold and windy day so Andy did his best to work fast and allow us time to warm up in between different shots. He was very considerate and always checked with us to make sure we were okay and could continue in the cold. We were able to walk to many different spots in the Fort for a nice variety of photos. The next outdoor location we visited was Palace of Fine Arts. He also had past experience here so he knew great places for us to sit or pose at. He knew we were getting tired from the long day and it was still really cold outside so he did his best to shoot fast so we could get through the entire area quickly. He and his partner must've been really cold too but they never complained and were always enthusiastic to take more photos. The following day was our dinner banquet at Koi Palace. Once again, Andy and his partner arrived earlier than the expected meeting time and got to work photographing all the details possible inside the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was a bit tight since we had the max amount of tables allowed in the space but they did a great job maneuvering around and setting up equipment in areas that were out of the way for walking. When people started to arrive and sign in, he made sure to capture candid moments as well as take the posed photos with every single group. He was so friendly to all of our guests and made everyone feel comfortable to take photos. The whole event went smoothly and we got everything we wanted captured. All of our photos turned out amazing and we got so many compliments from friends and family. They will be treasured for years to come. Before meeting him we were camera shy people and didn't know how to pose for anything. After working with him, we now feel like naturals standing in front of a camera. He always knew how to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. It really boosted our confidence and helped us get amazing photos that we never knew were possible. He is truly a hard worker who is passionate about his job. We could not have asked for a better photographer and were so lucky to have found him. Where to start... Right from the beginning I was nervous about doing engagement session and how…read morethey would turn out. To comfort my nerves, she told me just to start looking at pictures and poses that I would like for our session. I was able to search online and Pinterest about my ideas of how I want my engagement photos to look like. I had no idea where I wanted my session to be taken at, but she was able to recommend some locations for us to do the session at. Once at the locations, she had us do the poses we picked we would like. She even included some natural poses of just us walking to various locations at the site. Turns out the photos that I really enjoyed were the candid ones of us, being us. She was able to capture are true selves which is true to engagement photos. As we walked around our location, she was able to stop at perfect locations to take photos. As I looked around, I did not see what she saw, however when I got the photos shots back, I was able to see what she was talking about. Photography just seems to flow naturally from her and just seemed effortless for her, which made a comfortable photo session.
