The dryer unfortunately was not able to be fixed without a huge expense, and it was recommended that it was best I get a new dryer. Tenant calls me at 6pm, says SoCal Gas has red tagged all the gas appliances. Call, leave a msg, not expecting a callback until morning. Get a callback within the hour and they able to get out there the next day. Determine the problem is with the stove and fix it within 2 days, right before Christmas. My dryer stopped working, I called Patrick's repair service, and got an appointment for Friday between 1pm and 3pm. I waited until 3:15 pm, and no response, I then called a few times and still no answer after leaving a message. I didn't receive any calls say that they were running late, or there was an emergency, nothing at all. I called back and left them a message to cancel my appointment, that I would get someone else, which I did, and that person was very prompt, and did an outstanding job. Had a dishwasher issue. At first they were reluctant because they don't repair dishwashers anymore. That's fair. But for some reason Patrick motivates himself to pay me a visit on a Saturday. Service man was on time and very professional. Diagnosis was spot on. A stuck floating making the unit inoperable. Repair was completed in less than an hour and we're back in business. This is a rental property for me in Pismo Beach. My tenants are happy and so am I. What I really like is that I was able to pay via PayPal but they offered several pay options. I received my invoice via email which is also outstanding. I'm a business owner living in the Central Valley, operating a business in SoCal, and also own rent property on the central coast. For a business man like me they enable everything to come together by just a few phone calls. Support local and small business. I had a confirmed appointment after talking to the office manager. I even got an email from them confirming date and night. Off to an impressive start. Then no one showed up that morning or called me. Sent emails and called but no one answered or responded to me. Then I get a call from a totally random plumber telling me that Patrick referred him to me since they were too busy. What?! That is one of my biggest pet peeves when people don't just give me the common decency to just call or text or email and just simply tell me they can't make the appointment or they are too busy for the job. Do not recommend based on this level of service and then farming out my name to some random plumber. read more

I thought this would be a great company because of the reviews but after dealing with them, I think not. We originally scheduled to be seen between 2-4 on a Tuesday. We waited until 430 and finally had to get back to work. I got a voicemail around 515 letting me know they were on their way. I didn't get the message until I got home around 545 and called them back immediately. I was told they came by at 530 and that nobody was home. At this point I had explained that our appointment was form 2-4 and that nobody had shown or called to let me they would be late. They asked if we could reschedule and I did against my gut feeling. They were on time the following day which made me feel a little better. My father in law who is 70 had tried to see if this was something he could fix so the dryer was pulled out and easy to get to. The man who came was there a total of 15 minutes replaced a sensor and told my father in law he could put the dryer back together since he had taken it apart and left without leaving an invoice. I got the email today for $128...I was floored. In hind sight I wish I had gone with my gut and called Tuffy's Appliance. The gentleman I spoke to was very informative and friendly. They had quoted me $60 for the first 30 minutes and let me know that generally easy fixes are able to be handled in that time. Something big that needed to be special ordered would be more but that they would let me know before ordering. Yes my dryer is working now but the customer service is sorely lacking at this company. and to have to put your dryer back together and in place after a repair man leaves is unacceptable especially after being charged $128. read more

They list refrigerator repair on their list, but when you ask them for a quote they reply "we don't offer this service." I was disappointed when I read someone else had their refrigerator serviced with this company, so maybe they meant something else? Because as of right now, it seems they don't offer refrigerator repair even though it's listed. read more

TERRIBLE Saw this company was rated well on yelp and normally have had good success with yelp. Called to schedule an appointment on Tuesday to install a washer dryer unit at our house that was bungled up by a delivery service and thought I would be receiving premium service . The lady that answered the phone mentioned that they would be happy to come out on Thursday between 12-2pm to install the washer and dryer. I mentioned these were brand new units and I didn't care so much about the price just as long as it was done professionally and the work was quality. She said not a problem. Thursday rolls around now past 2pm. No follow up call to say they were running late or what happened. Meanwhile i'm not at home and texting my wife.... "have they shown up yet?" 4pm rolls around and they show up at my door a man and a woman. My wife says hello and the 1st thing they ask her in an odd manner. " Are you over 18"? My wife scans their name tag / uniform and pick up that this must be the installation service guys and says "uh yes". ((((( just curious if "hello my name is Patrick from Patricks appliance and installation I had an appointment today to work on a washer and dryer. " might have been a better introduction .))))) My wife is 33 by the way. So pretty much they show to say that they cannot do the work because they are short a guy to help , apologized and left. ????????? So meanwhile I pull up and pass them in my car in the way in the driveway and tell them that I haven't been that impressed with the service. "you showed up just to tell us that you couldn't do the work????. No phone call letting us know your late , and now to tell us you're leaving and will be back Saturday? What type of service is this? He apologizes, mentions that he has a bad back and apologizes about the no call and doesn't know what happened. Although I have a feeling it's just a man and a woman operation sitting next to each other in the van so not sure how they "didn't know - no one gave me a call or what happened. I went on to say that I could have called a competitor and been done by now!!! This did not reflect accuracy with reviews on yelp. SO GET THIS .... Patrick then begins to say that he completely understands if I need to write a bad review as honestly they have so much business and are so busy right now. Patrick and Carrie are a fantastic team and I would recommend them to any one of my friends, family, or business colleagues. My 1980's Kenmore washer that I bought refurbished 9yrs ago started to leak and I was worried it was game over for that beast and that I'd finally have to get a new washer. I have been avoiding getting a new unit like the plague as new machines are pretty much all cheap/made with plastic or inferior plastic/start to breakdown after a year/smell/etc. Patrick and Carrie took the cover off the machine, ran it, and checked for leaks. Naturally it didn't want to leak while they were over, but (long story short) it ended up just needing some good ol' WD40 to loosen up the springs that help the tub move around when washing. The cost was very fair and I don't have to get a new washer. Yay! read more

Very disappointed in this company. Been dealing with them almost 4 days now. They did not show up for the service call. They stated they had no idea that we were located in Santa Maria and they did not service that area. But my initial request through Yelp asked for property ZIP Code which I provided. I would not recommend this company. I did not receive an apology from them they just didn't bother to show up to the appointment. I had to call them and ask them where they were. I'm so glad I found someone reliable to help me with home repairs! They helped me with installing an ice maker in my freezer that I bought second hand. Called to have washer/dryer unit repaired and they didn't make it over the first day they scheduled. No call back so I called to find out when the repair could be done and was told Monday. I called Monday AM to confirm and, the office person sounded less than enthusiastic but confirmed. I called again the same day at 4:00 pm since I had not heard and surprise, they do not want to work on this type of combo machine. Thanks for letting me know....NOT! This company failed to keep me informed and then, neglected to tell me they didn't want the job until I called them. We are so blessed to have Patrick's Appliance in the Five Cities area. These days trying to find an honest company that won't take advantage of you is getting harder to find. My dryer wasn't drying the clothes & after trouble shooting it on the Internet, I called Patrick. He came out, turned my dryer on, checking the outside venting & it wasn't blowing through much at all. He took the vent hose off & it was blowing from my dryer.
