There are public toilets a short walk within the Centre. location is terrific and a great meeting place (a bit like Waterloo Station clock) it is easy to find in the middle of the Dolphin. Staff welcoming and friendly. Being an open establishment you can see the cleanliness of the whole establishment, including what is normally 'back of house', and although busy the tables are cleared promptly. The menu is full of delightful treats and the sort of fayre you would expect from a good patisserie. Oddly enough I am not a great fan of rich sweet foods but they have a good selection of savoury treats as well.

What a little gem!…read more Found this by chance while looking for a parking spot, so we went in. It has the feel, almost, of a French cafe or bistrot. The menu is quite small but hey, the quality makes up! The two girls had homemade cream of tmoto soup with slices of baguette. Exta baguette came on request at no extra charge. The plat du jour was Salade Nicoise - oh bliss! A great favourite of mine and they did it fantastically. Toward finishing I told the waitress that I had found a dead fly in my plate and ibsisted on a fresh plate of salad! She laughed and said it was one of her favourites too. Mmmmm.it was so good! French pastries afterwards and the three of us had had milkshakes. They do various coffees and teas. The menu is various savoury crepes, croques and omelettes. I can imagine it's all very good.

Generally great produce but atrocious service…read more At the Broadstone branch I bought a sausage roll and politely asked for a napkin before I left. The response from the lady behind the counter was "this is not a café" I could forgive this if it were an isolated incident, however the Ashley Cross outlet forgot half my order and didn't seem bothered at all. Yesterday I visited the Poole High Street outlet. Toward the end of the day several items are placed in the window display on special offer "everything for 50p", this is a great idea to clear unwanted stock however once again blighted by poor execution. I asked one of the staff what kind of bread was in the window (its worth noting they bake some unusual bread so not an unreasonable question). The female staff member looked at me as though I'd spat on the floor and barked "it's a baguette". Absolutely shocking behaviour, only saved by the quality of their produce. I know a local sandwich shop owner who won't use anything other than fresh Bennetts rolls and quite rightly so, but I'm shocked by the consistently poor approach to customer engagement across multiple outlets.
