Guildhall Tavern is actually a French restaurant, with some English favorites on the menu. We ended…read moreup in Poole after getting off our cruise ship turned into a nightmare, so we didn't get the chance to go to London. Our friend found this restaurant online in the Michelin Guide - it is a "Michelin plate" and has a "good standard" rating. We were seated in a little section/room with a door that opens to outside - nice and private. It was my goal to have a proper fish and chips meal while in the UK, so, of course, that's what I ordered. The lunch menu gives options for just a starter, or one, two, or three courses. I got two courses - battered haddock with house tartar, peas, and fries as my main, and a cheese plate for dessert. The plate was nicely presented and the fish was perfect - golden, crispy fried on the outside, and moist and flaky inside, and the homemade tartar sauce was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy. They bring bread and olives for you while you wait for your meal, so the one piece of fish and fries was really filling. The cheese plate had two matured French cheeses (one was blue) and some fruit and nuts. They took the cheese out of the fridge for me when I ordered so that it would be at a nice temperature for dessert - great idea. I was already full at this point but the cheese was delicious, great small portion, and a perfect way to end my meal. Service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and timely. Prices for the lunch specials were very reasonable - mine was 17 pounds for the two courses, and portions are fair, depending on what you order.

Pollo forza Pizza…read more Boy I always had an opinion or notion the best pizza I tasted till date are made in Italy only , the ones I tried near trevi fountain! But to my surprise pizza express has changed my notion ! Delicious and one of the best I had off late This one has chicken with smoked chillies, red and yellow bell peppers , dried chilli flakes , sundried tomatoes , roquito pepper , gran Milano cheese and some fresh parsley Pizza express is a popular chain in UK serving some delicious pizzas to its patrons They have close to 470 outlets across UK , quite a popular and old brand since 1965. And I have tried this one based on my friends recco Absolutely loved it , generous toppings , perfect thin crust and it's perfect The ambiance is pretty descent with comfortable seating options and a small open air space at the back yard The staff are usp for this outlet , they are dutiful and polite They do their best to make sure it's a great day with a memorable and palatable meal for you out there Happiness for me is pizza with loads of cheese and right toppings #polloforza #pizza #krantiawelltravelledgourmand #krantikrishna007

I've been in here twice now, once empty and once full and buzzing…read more The pizza here is really great. There is an authenticity which takes you back to Italy. They use the genuine cheeses so you don't get that glutinous mass that some take aways give you. I had the Venezia which is a vegetarian option and only £7.50. My companion had the same and couldn't finish, so I had plenty for a picnic lunch the next day. Very Yummy!!! The interior is simple and rather basic, but made up for by the friendly staff, good food and atmosphere. It's near enough to the Quay for an evening walk or to join the festivities at the waterfront in summer. Nice clean toilets!
