What a nightmare! Had to call three times to get them to pick-up two patio chairs for reslinging. Was quoted one price over the phone and told another price upon pick-up. They've had my chairs for three months ( an hour job at most). I've called a half dozen times and get told the chairs are ready and the scheduler will call - never a call. Finally, this week told them if I don't get hear about my chairs by 3pm, I'm taking action. Very rudely spoken to by Anna who really didn't seem to give a heck. We recently used The Patio Guys to do a complete refurbishment of 12 chairs and 4 chaise lounges. From initial contact by phone through re-delivery of the chairs, we found the the office staff and the pick-up/delivery guys to be very responsive, knowledgeable and easy to work with. The firm was very responsive to our request for an estimate and clarification of details. The pick-up and delivery schedule was followed to the minute. The workmanship was excellent and the furniture looks just like new! We heartily recommend The Patio Guys. One suggestion: Schedule your work for the Fall and Winter, when the workload is lower, and you will likely experience a quick turnaround. We were promised 2 weeks and the furniture was finished and back to us in only one week, and that included 2 days of transport to and from Santa Ana and Santa Barbara. This Santa Ana, CA firm refinishes patio furniture. Although this company came highly recommended by Roger's Gardens, where we purchased our furniture, they were a HUGE disappointment. First, you phone the main number and get a quote on sight-unseen furniture, then a scheduler calls you back (mine took four days) and gives you a window of when they will be in your neighborhood. Not my idea of personal service AND they take 3-4 weeks to complete the work. I fully described my furniture to the the first person I spoke with and was specific about the solid (heavy) stone top sitting on the base, which needed to be refinished. At no time during this conversation was I told it was my responsibility to separate the top from the base. When the driver showed up alone, I knew we had a problem. Sure enough, he called the main office and was told he could not take my furniture. The seat of our lawn chair broke and we attempted to fix it. We were unsuccessful. We found Patio Guys on Google and we contacted Jeannie at Patio Guys. She was so helpful and when we described our problem, she suggested we bring it in. She was amazing. She said it only needed one screw and they would fix it for free. When we called to check on it, we were told it would require a small amount of welding but since we were promised a free service, she said they would honor that commitment. What a wonderful find. We will definitely use Patio Guys for all our outdoor furniture needs. We can't say enough about how happy we were to have called them. You claim that your prices are reflective of median to Upper end Furniture, but we all know that that is not correct. Most of your reviews show vinyl/plastic straps being repaired, those are cheap ass from Walmart! My mid range yet inexpensive slings bought at Costco with Sunbrella fabric were maybe $120 ea, over 10 years ago. You & other services business will be out of business in the very near future. When we can go to the internet right now and pull up a number of manufacturers that are in the mid-range that have 2 chaise lounges recliners with slings for around $200. Let me repeat that's two recliners for the same price or less that you want to charge to just replace the slings not including your service fees. While you say your people are talented that's great! To charge $188 & I am supplying the material, that's approximately $188 an hour. Porsche mechanics dont make that. I'm giving you the benefit since you can remove old material in 10 minutes or less, it might take 30 minutes max to replace the new material. And 5 -10 minutes to make the ends hemmed. Then you want to charge a pickup and delivery fee too? How did you get this business to last this long? I see how you have been dealing with alot of older people that are not internet savvy and like dealing with people the old fashioned way. I used to want to help the little guy, the old fashioned way, but not when their prices are skyway robbery. You noted in your message that your helping clients. I see your reviews and you dont seem to help many other than yourselves. I see many issues that you dont honor your 5 year warranty on straps discoloration, and other issues. Well I wish you good luck. My suggestion is for the public to just get online and get new patio furniture for less than replacing the fabrics with these guys. read more

I wanted to wait a year before I did my review. Last year they picked them up (11 pieces), repaired some wear and tear, powder coated them, and returned them. I just had Pato Guys refinish my 11 year old furniture. Wow, it looks sensational...better than I could have imagined...better than when it was new. Now it all matches perfectly. They did 8 chairs, 8 swivel bar stools, 4 tables, a bench, 4 chaise lounge chairs and even the umbrella bases. Anna made great recommendations and the finished color (Java) and sling material look fantastic. The turn around time was reasonable considering how much work they had to do. I too was extremely happy with the work done by Patio Guys when it was NEW. However, we are just under two years now and although their advertisements state a "Five Year Warranty" I just got off of the phone and was told that the warranty does NOT apply to the fabrics......I am very disappointed as the original furniture's fabric did not begin to rot for over 12 years. Our order for the original work was well over $8000 and although again - we were happy at the time, just be very careful regarding the fabric choices - as I was under the impression that ALL of the work (with the SMALL disclaimer on the work order referring to wrought iron/steel) was warrantied. $8000 was a lot of money to spend for a project that now needs to be done again.... read more

These Guys are the best ! They refinished (sand blasted then powder coated) my patio furniture that was purchased in 1971 and very weathered. The powder coating was meticulous, a nice smooth thick coating of the color of my choice. The work was superb and the furniture looks better than new. The furniture was picked up and delivered by friendly people and the office staff were also very friendly and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend this company. I've used Patio Guys twice now. Once to powder coat metal furnace grates. And once to re-fabric outdoor patio furniture. Both jobs have stood the test of time. The black paint on the furnace grates looks great years later. And so does the fabric on the patio furniture. My only regret was not re-doing all my patio furniture at the same time. Jeannie was extremely cordial and helpful, and their refinishers were fast and did great work -- especially Joseph, who went above and beyond the call of duty to clean up a chaise lounge that I had brought in for a repair. They could easily have have "sold" me on a larger refinishing job rather than the simpler repair job I had, but they didn't. And what they did, they did perfectly. Simply their service level lacks, we had some chairs re-slung, they promised no longer than 3 weeks and it took six weeks (phone several times). They returned with wrong colour material and the fabric started coming out of the track, asked them to come back to repair/replace with correct material to which they agreed. We were in town for almost a month gave them time line, they said no problem, again took six weeks to get chairs back also after several phone calls and no response to email query. . Unfortunately they seem to be the only ones doing these repairs so have to stick with them. Just make sure you have lots of time as they don't deliver what they promise. read more

This nightmare of a company replaced my strapping a few years ago with materials that spontaneously discolored into huge brown blotches within months, then started breaking within a year. Their representative when you phone, "Anna," insisted on the phone that the discoloration must be "from the airport" which is more than 20 miles away. She says that they absolutely take no responsibility for the coloration of the strapping. Then when I called recently to report additional straps that broke (without the chairs having been used!) she told me that they would send a man to look at all the furniture and determine what should be covered by their warranty as defective. I asked and she said the pick up and delivery would not be charged if there was a warranty problem. She also said that if her man felt that the discoloration was a result of a strap defect, that would also be covered under warranty. So the man with the truck came and identified 4 chairs that should be covered by warranty, but now he told me that Anna instructed him to charge me over $120 for "pick up and delivery." I thought this must be a mistake so I had him call her -- and now not only did she insist that they will charge for pick up, but she also doesn't care that her man identified discolored straps as defective -- they will not be covered. The bottom line is that Anna misled me on several counts. She is willing to re-strap 2 broken straps -- but will charge me more than it would cost me to replace the straps myself -- under the guise of "pickup and delivery" fees. And she will not replace discolored straps that we began complaining to her about after only a few months, even though they have been confirmed as defective by her representative. Anna of course denies everything that I heard her say when I talked to her on the phone and seems to think it's funny that I wasted a day waiting for her truck without any satisfaction. I notice that the BBB has this company rated "F" and I can understand why. The furniture looked good right after they did it -- which probably explains the 5 star ratings on Yelp -- but within 6 months their work was unsightly, and the company does not seem to care. read more

I started using The Patio Guys services 20 to 25 years ago and wouldn't think of going elsewhere! The table they originally re-finished 20 years ago has held up beautifully and so have the chairs. We purchased a larger set of patio furniture seven years ago to accommodate our growing family and are now getting ready to have The Patio Guys refinish the chairs that have faded (we put our old smaller original set that the Patio Guys refinished originally on the other side of our patio since it has held up so well and use it as a spare whenever we need more seating). I am not quite sure what process they use to finish the furniture but whatever it is, it has held up beautifully. We live near the coast and our furniture sits in the direct sun most of the day and is exposed to the elements year round as we do a lot of entertaining. The Patio Guys refinished our bar stools seven years ago in a dark brown with dark brown strapping and even though they sit out all year long, they still look great! They have not faded and the straps are still nice and tight. Our chaise lounges also still look like they are brand new. I was dismayed when I opened this yelp site to read the two negative reviews posted as I have experienced nothing similar to their postings. The staff at The Patio Guys have always been courteous and professional. My calls have always been answered by a real person and the one time I called after hours, someone returned my call the very next day. The instructions I have been given on the phone have always been very precise as well as their price quotes. In retrospect, I know The Patio Guys service a lot of people and if they only have two negative postings online, I guess that's pretty darn good as most people tend to only post the negative, and don't usually take the time to post their positive results as they are too busy enjoying the outdoors in their newly refurbished patio furniture! :) read more

To be fair, I dealt with the Patio Guys just as they had purchased the company that had previously done work for me. So, getting them to respond to me and then getting them to pick up my furniture took three weeks. They didn't show up as promised twice, then one day showed up. Getting it back was equally frustrating. Over a month later - "Well we'll probably have it sometime next week, blah, blah." When I got annoyed, the furniture was magically ready to be delivered. The webbing looks great, but I had to ask the delivery man to hammer in the end caps, which were not securely fastened, the chairs were really dirty and there were some long and obviously fresh scratches in the paint.
