Patio Bellavista is known for its tourist-chic stores and restaurants. When this area of Recoleta was still somewhat drab, Patio Bellavista was the new kid on the block, merging the underbelly (ok, underbelly might be a little dramatic) of Pio Nono with the more elite of Concepción.
It has always been filled with a more international selection of restaurants and stores such as Arabic, Japanese, Colombian and Peruvian food. Over the years, they have opened their selection even more to include French, Irish, Spanish Italian and American.
Patio Bellavista is also the spot where many artisans get together outside their walls to sell an array of products - you can really find anything in this area!
Inside, besides the varied delicious options, you can also find a large patio where, depending on the day, there are fairs and workshops. Some of the attractions I have seen have been an organic/sustainability fair with local entrepreneurs and farmers, an art festival as well as an antique show type of fair. They also have an amphitheater for concerts and events.
Patio Bellavista has options for everyone - kids included! They also have a couple of nice cafes where you can stay and work. There is even the McDonalds cafe (with WIFI, although somewhat spotty at times) or Starbucks if you are desperate...
