SANTIAGO , CHILE
Just laying around the house perusing some Yelp reviews and ran across some reviews of Parque Arauco in Santiago de Chile. Only one review was written in English with most of the rest written in Spanish , and oh yeah , the last one written in Portuguese. So, for those ENGLISH only visitors to Santiago de Chile I thought that I would write another review in English.
Parque Arauco is a fantastic Mall located in the Las Condes section of Santiago. It is upscale, some what expensive,
( depending on your shopping habits ) and very very safe.
There is plenty of parking available in a huge underground parking garage.
Make sure that you remember where you parked your car by looking at your surroundings and make a note of it. The individual stalls are not numbered for ease of locating your car. For some customers it may be more convenient to take a taxi or the Metro. However, there is no direct Metro to the Mall. After exiting the Metro you have to connect to a Bus.
Oh what the heck, TAKE A TAXI.
The Mall has a variety of restaurants offering indoor and outdoor dinning on the patio court. There is also a large indoor food court with plenty of chain fast-food restaurants. The Mall also has a Movie Theater which presents first rate American Movies in English with Spanish subtitles. It has all the trappings of a big city movie theater with popcorn , candy , soda-pop etc.
Now for the shopping. There are a plethora of stores in the Mall. Falabella ,
Paris, electronics , books , you name it. There are reportedly 200 stores located in the Mall. One can easily spend an entire afternoon at the Mall.
There is shopping, dinning, the Cinema and plenty of people watching to keep you entertained.
This is without a doubt one of my favorite places to visit when in Santiago.
I can't put into words just how huge this Mall is both indoors and outdoors.
They have live outdoor entertainment on the week-ends with music and singers which usually attract large crowds. There are water fountains, ice cream stands, even an ice skating rink. If you ever find yourself in Santiago de Chile with time on your hands, jaunt on over to the Mall and pass some time, bring a friend. You will be glad you did.
Oh, besides bringing along a friend, bring money, or a credit card.
There is so much to see and do there that you are going to spend some money. I'm just saying... read more
