However, it was busy so you may have to wait for a table to begin with (luckily we just got in on an empty spot). The menu covers the basics, but also done with a little twist, however I wouldn't say it was cheap with some dishes in the $20s. They also had some specials of beetroot cured salmon with poached eggs & wasabi avocado puree (which sounded ridiculously tempting) and jerk marinated chicken, avocado, white nectarine, and garden salad with ranch dressing. We went with a couple of options from the standard menu - a eggs benedict with choice of house smoked salmon (22) and smashed avo (19). The eggs benedict also has the option of house smoked bacon (19) but as mentioned we went for the salmon, and it comes with herbed zucchini & potato hash, wilted spinach, hollandaise sauce. The salmon was delicious but far too little, and all round it was a good dish. However, taste wise the smashed avo was definitely superior. It originally comes with poached eggs, smashed avocado, quinoa tabbouleh, charred sweet corn, chilli oil, and toasted sourdough but I asked for an egg swap to the zucchini and potato hash, which was done with no trouble at all! In fact they even gave 2 which was a nice surprise. This was a really delicious dish, definitely recommend to try it! The quinoa tabbouleh was so great with it, and I am always a fan when quinoa can turn out tasting amazing. Also tried the Summer Breeze juice with watermelon, pineapple, lemon & mint (7), and it was lovely and refreshing with each flavour easily recognisable but none being a key player. How juices should be! Overall, it's a lovely space with tasty food so would definitely not hesitate to go back and recommend to others too.

You know what old people like? A good sit. You know what…read moreelse they like? A nice walk. At Grounds Keepers Cafe, you can do both! (In Soviet Russia, ground walks you!). The cafe is smack dab in the middle of a park that literally has something for everyone. An astroturfed lawn bowl / bocce / cartwheel catwalk. A castle turret without the castle. A cricket oval with a white picket fence. A kids playground. A walking track. Greenery and trees and grass ever'where. A water feature, for crying out loud. And the cafe is dishing out Middle Eastern inspired meals and coffees and cakes and just get a coffee and walk. It's fine. Who cares about your age? That doesn't even matter.

This place is hidden away in a park near the Top Ryde shopping centre. It has a great outdoors feel, with the café quite open. It would be really nice on a beautiful sunny day, the day we came however it was pouring with rain! We had a large group so we had pre ordered our food. The menu is very middle eastern with all classics like Kofta & mezze boards. There was also a large salad menu on offer. I had ordered the zucchini and haloumi fritters with rocket and chilli jam. The fritters were extremely flavoursome however they were on the slightly soggy side. Fritters to me should be crispy, so this was a slight letdown. The haloumi themselves were delicious (its hard to go wrong with haloumi though!). Nice little café, perfect for families with kids as it is located right next to a playground. Good addition to the area.

They warmed up the banana bread and buttered it for me :) Overall, if you are shopping around Top Ryde and need somewhere to get away from the crowds then this would be a great spot to come too and just relax and read the papers if you feel so inclined. I ordered the rustic big breakfast and my wife ordered the rustic brekky (which was amazing value at $9.90) that one was a selection off the specials board. The big breakfast was great value, huge serving it was barely balancing on the plate, I was starving so this made me happy, in the "rustic brekky" my wife got 1 egg benedict, some spinach, a hash brown, bacon and mushrooms. Their coffee was nice, not amazing but better than some of the other cafés in the Top Ryde shopping centre. Both meals were great, cheap and delivered quickly. The staff were all very friendly and service was exceptional, it was very quiet but it was during the week and outside of peak breakfast time, they do all day breakfast so it would be ideal for a hung-over late Sunday breakfast when you don't want anything too fancy. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to this café for a fast and reasonably priced meal or a quick coffee.

Upon first impressions I just dismissed it mentally as another simple cafe for snobby people and assumed it was going to be overpriced (it is Breakfast Point after all!). We were able to get the tables rearranged for us (there was 6 in our group) at the drop of a hat by the wait staff and they were very at tentative. The menus were provided and it immediately dawned upon me that I might have judged this place too quickly. The menu stipulated breakfast, lunch and desserts for children. All the pricing was reasonable and I noticed that it had a real warmth in the atmosphere. Pouring over the menu, there was a good range in choices and we all opted for the chicken burger. The service was relatively fast and they were able to cater to each of our own tastes really well. The juice was freshly squeezed and a large serving. Gourmet is the only word that comes to mind. I looked around at the other peoples meals and noticed that the food wasn't just food - it came with it's own style of art. Whenever you look in a magazine and see food being presented - that's what we got! None of us had children, but a lady did come in shortly after us with children and they gave her child free cookies before they even had placed their order. Very family friendly and nice open atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I will definitely be coming back here again to have lunch on the weekend with friends and introduce them. Ample parking, delicious food, excellent service, reasonable pricing - what more could you ask for? 5 stars!
