We got a new mattress, which seems good and a decent buy. Time will tell. Then we bought a used sleeper sofa. I should have known better. We saw one in the showroom and it looked used, but decent. Used is to be expected for the price. The one that was delivered is really so far worn as to be a really poor deal even at $250. I tried giving it a clean with some upholstery cleaner and while it's better, it still looks very worn. The worst part is the sleeper mechanism seems to be on its last legs and doesn't close properly leaving a gap under the seat no matter what we do. The mattress looks clean, but is incredibly lumpy. I regret buying this thing. Although close examination in the showroom seems like an obvious solution, it's nearly impossible because everything is jam packed and many things are stored in duplicate at the warehouse, so even if you look at the one in the showroom, it may not be the one you get. Getting it back out of our apartment is going to be really difficult. On the bright side the delivery people were excellent and did a great job getting this beast in. And the people at the store were very nice and tried to be helpful. I just wish I'd stuck to my gut that $250 for a sleeper sofa, even surplus, is too good to be true. With no returns and all sales final, I am feeling sad tonight. For casegoods and small items like lamps, I'd shop there again, but I would beware of upholstered goods, particularly with working mechanisms like sleeper sofas unless you can sit on and examine the actual one you will receive.

Many places offer similar type lamps but are either clunky, unoriginal or will make your wallet over $1,000 lighter. We found the one we've looking for at BoConcept. It's a furniture franchise originated in Denmark. The store in Vancouver is on the 2nd level of the building shared by Inspirations on the ground level of the building. It was slight confusing on our first visit because they are 2 separate businesses which share a common centre in-store stairwell. Service was good. Since the only one available was a floor model, we were offered a reasonable 10% discount. A good alternative to sleeker and more stylish Scandinavian furniture in town than the mothership from Sweden.

They also sell non-Canadian made furniture as well but without customizations. There is no pressure to buy in the store and Irina is super knowledgeable and helpful. You're allowed to sit on all the couches for as long as you want. We went in wanting a Canadian-made couch but none of the ones we sat on we liked. We decided to go with a non-Canadian made sofa called "Kendra." However, when we received it, the tag said Ashley Furniture. We looked up the couch and it turns out it is indeed Ashley's "Kennewick" sofa which sells for $300 less than Pallucci. That is when we found out Pallucci sells other furniture stores' couches with increased pricing and a name change. That was very deceiving and disappointing. What is even worse is that Pallucci only gives a 1 year warranty on the couches that are not Canadian made. However, Ashley furniture (where the couch is from) gives a 3 year warranty. Pallucci has all their deliveries go through Marble Moving. I am not sure what kind of information Pallucci has given but Marble had the wrong couch and the wrong delivery date in their system. They also rarely take calls so we spent several days calling them just to clarify things. However, the movers themselves were nice and careful. If you are wanting Canadian-made then you may want to give this store a try. Otherwise, please do a reverse google image search on all of their couches. Chances are you can find it elsewhere for cheaper. On the plus side, there is free parking in the back. ---Aug 20 2023 Edit-- The owner is very nice and wanted to make amends for what happened. I was refunded the difference between Pallucci's price and Ashley's price. He told me that although they don't hide that they sell other furniture stores' furniture, and they will only tell you where it is from if you ask. He only buys the ones that he knows are good quality. He clarified that they will do price matching on items that are still in stock in the other furniture's website. I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars because the Owner has admitted the misunderstanding and wanted to correct it. I think an improvement is to be more open about where the furniture is from. Having it in the price tag of the product would be good. I had really assumed that Pallucci was selling Pallucci-made Furniture and I think many people also think as I do - even when I look at used furniture on Craiglist/Marketplace, people write "couch from Pallucci".

After a couple weeks pass by we are finally ready to make our purchase, a locally made Stylus sectional. The price was a bit better than other places we checked out that sold Stylus. We mainly worked with Garreth, who seemed to be still a little new as he had to go to the boss for some of our questions. No big deal because I'd rather him do that than give us incorrect information. After we we decided on fabric, we were told that the fabric might potentially be on back order. Sure enough, a few days later we get a call indicating that the fabric is on back order and that we would have to wait a few months unless we go for another fabric. We didn't like any of the other fabrics so we decided to wait. When speaking to Garreth over the phone, he did say sometimes the fabric does come in early. I didn't believe it, but to our surprise, the sofa was ready a few weeks before the estimated date they gave us. I'm not sure how much of that is Stylus actually receiving the fabric earlier than expected, or Creative over estimating the date. Maybe both. Either way, we were happy. The only thing I would take a star off on is a little bit of disorganization. We came in twice and made our purchase the second visit. A month later I received a call from the boss asking if we're still interested in the sofa. Well... we already ordered it and at this point, it was well past the date we were notified that it would be on back order. I think she was following up from our first visit, but it should have been noted that we already came back and made the purchase. They also took down both my and my wife's phone number. So every time they called us, they called us twice. We'd be at home and my wife would take the call. Then right after, they would call me. Or they would leave her a voice mail and then call me saying the exact same thing. I don't know, maybe some people prefer that, but it's a bit redundant if we're living in the same household. Overall, the service and quality of product is pretty good here. I would recommend it if you're willing to spend a bit more to get a quality product as all their furniture is solid wood.

Finished product not as expected: warped table tops and wrong colour…read more We were excited to find a place that made custom solid wood pieces, and locally! Unfortunately, we are sadly disappointed with our experience here. When we sat in the showroom and discussed with the salesperson the design of the coffee and end tables, we sat down on the display couch which is the same model as we have in our home. We specified that we were ordering the tables to match the couch and said that our couch legs were espresso (as per their couch on display). The salesperson wrote espresso on the order; however, neglected to offer to show us a colour sample to select from, which would clearly show that their espresso was a different colour. When we received it, not only was the colour wrong, but the table tops were warped. I have photos showing the extensive warping and the colour mismatch. However, Yelp has removed the photos as it is against their guidelines for me to post photos which support my review. I do still have the photos available. They said they would have the builder fix the warping, but that we would have to pay for the restaining of the tables! All in all, the owner, Blair, rectified their errors. They added supports within the tabletops to correct the warping. Although Blair was not present at the time the salesperson took our order, he passes the colour error onto us. Unfortunately when we ordered our tables the salesperson did not have a system in place confirming that we had seen and received a colour sample. Our sign off was simply agreeing to "espresso" written by the salesperson on the quote and invoice. In the end, we paid an additional $168 to have the colour corrected for both of the tables. This amount was more than what was originally quoted to us, as there was no mention of a custom stain charge at the time we placed our order.
