Disappointed. Patient First is open until 10 PM. I pulled in to the parking lot at 10:01 PM and they refused to take my son who has a high fever and an extremely sore throat even though there were still patients sitting inside in the waiting room. We have been going to this patient first location for years. While the wait is long and the doctors have been brusque and hurried, it has been convenient as a walk in when needed. Not allowing my son to come in to be treated tonight has lost a family of 4 with great insurance as client/customer for Patient First. We will be going up the road next time to another urgent care facility since they are everywhere! read more

My husband and I have been to the Patient First in Waldorf, MD several times for various reasons. The first time we went and had out prescriptions filled there we paid for them prior to leaving. Two weeks later we got a bill from Patient first for the amount our insurance didn't cover and for the prescriptions. I sent in the amount for the part not covered by insurance, but we had already paid for the meds prior to leaving the doctor's office. Since I didn't have my receipt showing I had paid for the meds, I had to pay for the meds again. I have learned from this experience keep your receipts from Patient First!!!! If you don't have the receipt showing you paid for the meds, you will have to pay again so they don't send you to collections. Every time we have been to PF, I know the bill is going to have a charge for medication we have already paid for....keep receipt!!!!!!! Today, I received a statement from PF and wouldn't you know once again PF has sent another bill saying we owe for meds. THANK GOODNESS I still have receipts showing we paid for the meds. So 30 minutes out of my busy schedule to track this down make copies and send these in to the billing department. Service was good at PF, but there billing for prescriptions is CORRUPT !!!!!! read more

on October 16, I ,arrived at around 12:25 I checked in, went thru the pre checks, waited and finally, I, was taken to my room @1:13 and was waiting for my Dr. to do the exam....At 3:15 no word on the whereabouts of the Dr. or any word if the Dr. was lost.... I put my clothes on and left the room. I asked the assistant who took me to my room where is the Dr. she had this dugh look and said she did not see you....I said no then she told me to stop by the office to pay for my service. They had listed on my bill three test they never took....and then charged me $37.00. Yes, I understand who gets seen first....I was in my room waiting....I'm not sure of the wait time but ER's are faster in my opinion.... Will NOT RECOMMEND Waldorf for starters.... read more

Would never visit this facility again! I never made it to the triage or past the check in process. She simply said "we don't accept your insurance so you can't be seen". I was confused because I have been treated twice here and had no issues. She also said I could go outside and call a cab and my insurance provider but I would not do it at her desk. Again I was confused because I drove (my own car) and never mentioned my method of transportation. I simply told her she was rude amd nasty and left. I called after I left and told a nurse I was denied treatment and she said "oh, well call the 800 number. I will bypass this place which is walking distance to my home and camp out in a crowded ER before I would allow the staff to treat me like that. read more

There is a large waiting area and the nurses don't call loud enough the patient will be left waiting for hours if not seated close door closer to the registration window. I notified the receptionist patients that signed in after me are being called in and she assured me I was next but four more patients that signed after me were called in. I had to speak to the receptionist again before being called in. I came in before 2pm and I am still waiting to see the doctor at 3:15pm. read more

This is unbelievable! I've been here for two hours and I still haven't seen a doctor yet. I waited in the front room for an hour and after I finally got sent back to see the doctor, I sat for another hour waiting. After an hour the doctor finally peeped in and said she is going to be taking care of me today and then she left and I'm still waiting. read more

Visited Paitent First today April 23 , 2011. I was told that I could not be seen because I had a bill for 147.00 which I knew nothing about. I asked to make arrangement they told me to call billing. I did not receive any medical treatment from them. The recptionist called a nurse in who stood over me and gave me a stare as I explained my symptoms. The nurse never said anything just walked away. The only reason she was called was just to say that someone did hear my complaint. I will never visit Patient First again. I needed medical treatment and was refused. If you think that they will treat you and you have a previous bill try them. Their billing policy on their desk even states that they will not see you until you bill is paid in full. If you are sick or dying don't go to the Waldorf location. read more

I would not recommend this place. I waited for an hour and a half in the evening, after getting there around 8:00 pm, on a Wednesday The doctor was in such a hurry that she didn't even examine me. Even when I told her the symptoms I was having. She just said they could send out my urine sample for a culture. Ok fine. I was charged $129 for the visit, $25 for urinalysis, $19 to send it out and $37 for an after hour fee. Not sure why they charge you for after hour fees when they are open until 10. I was told that after 5 pm, they charge this fee, but they do not tell you that up front. I had a similar experience when I took my daughter there for an injury. I will never go back there again. It was a waste of time and money. By the way, what I went there for was diagnosed by my doctor, after she examined me, and was a pretty serious condition that may result in surgery. I had a lot of knee pain about 3 weeks ago and went in on March 31st and saw Dr. Lorenzo Childress. I asked him to do an x-ray or an MRI and he did neither or them for me. He sent me home with 800 mg. of IBuprofen and expected that to work. I went to my other doctor on 4/4 and he ordered an MRI, which I had done at Tower Radiology on 4/8. It turns out I have a torn meniscus. Thanks a lot Dr. Childress for nothing..... If you are there and I ever need to visit again. I'll ask for another doctor, you were of no help to me. read more

Went there yesterday. Excellent service from the moment I entered at 8:15 am. Had tests, diagnosed and on my way with medicine around 10 am. Dr. Henry was the best. I highly recommend him. Also, Dr. Paul Wilson is excellent. Good experience. read more

I am not even sure where to start...I went to this "Urgent Care" for finger pain. This is finger pain from a spider bite that happened about 3 days ago. I was feeling fine other than the FINGER PAIN. I drove myself to this "urgent care". I waited 2 hours to be seen. I was asked if I had any other symptoms and I told them no. Before I knew it they were doing an EKG, trying to place an IV (with zero success) and calling an ambulance for me. I drove myself to the "urgent care", waited 2 hours and NOW it's an emergency because I might have a PE and I need to go to SOMD?!!! I explained to them that I didn't want an ambulance and I thought they got the point. Apparently not, the EMS crew came in and said they were here for me. I thought I was waiting for my discharge paperwork. The doctor came in and told the crew I needed to go to Southern Maryland for a possible PE and that my arm might fall off. I apologized to the EMS people and told them that I didn't need any of their services. The doctor told me that I could die. I said a few choice words to that man and I walked out. Don't even waste your time at this place. Apparently they don't pay the 911 bill either. So, on top of my Urgent Care copay, I would have an emergency services bill. Why call yourselves an "Urgent Care" when what wasn't an emergency 2 hours ago is now an emergency and needs an ambulance. I will stick with Right Time Urgent Care instead. read more

Found Patient First in Waldorf to be an excellent facility with competent and attentive doctors and staff. Was seen and treated for a bacterial infection over the course of five weeks. Saw four different doctors who were very professional and efficient in explaining the problem and treating it. Two did minor surgery and handled everything perfectly. We never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to be treated. The office staff is also efficient and responsive, and the paperworkwas handled quickly. Loved being able to get the prescriptions on site and very quickly at that. I was really impressed with the care that we received and will definitely keep Patient First in mind when needing emergency care. Actually, it was easier than going to our primary care physician and definitely a shorter wait than the hospital emergency room! But then, we were careful about the times that we chose to visit. read more

Processes are in need of re-engineering, staff are friendly but you can tell that they are just wheels going through the motions and, the Doctor's are just guessing specialist. I found that I was able to guess just as well as the medical staff with only B.S. Degree. You are incorporated into and moved through their process as if they are just checking a box. The only real value you may obtain from going here is if you have an [Emergency] obvious open wound and their facility is close to you or you need an x-ray on a Sunday. Other than that, they offer no other benefits. You can go to CVS or Walgreens to get a flu shot anytime, you can go to ER and get emergency care [because this is where they (Patient First) are going to send you anyway], or you can wait to see your regular Doctor on Monday morning. My experience at Patient First was mixed bag. The nurses or medical technicians were outstanding! They were extremely helpful, professional and supportive of my concerns. They did everything within their power to ensure that I was taken care of expeditiously. On the other hand, the receptionist was more concerned with me paying than why I was there. The Doctor - she was extremely unprofessional. How can a physician check you out of Patient Care without properly diagnosing your problem? Not only check you out but...leave for the day without seeing you after she had the nurses provide care. Another Doctor did come in for the final observation and thought that I had already been taken care of. But...because I was already checked out of the computer by the female doctor, he said that he was unable to see me! All in all, it was an horrible experience and I would never, ever, recommend this facility to anyone that I know. If I could rate my service separately, the nurses would get a 10 and not just a 5 rating! My initial physician a big (-10)! read more
