It is behind, in the back of the property, and has lots of playground equipment, but it's a bit secluded and harder to access by walking to it. It's not better than other family friendly park & rec's in California, but maybe for Seattle it's considered above average. It's the best I've experienced in Seattle, which isn't saying much 'tho. I'd still recommend this for toddlers 'tho.

Wallingford Playfield is the main park in the namesake neighborhood where mostly families take…read moretheir children for some play time. There are also some areas for Basketball & Tennis. Wallingford Playfield is mostly a wide-open field where students from the nearby high school are often practicing field games, usually Frisbee and Soccer. When these activities aren't taking place, it's often a unofficial off leash park for dogs of the neighborhood to run and play through the park. There is a playground that looks fairly new and well-kept that children are often on. On the back side of the park are some tables where folks can sit and maybe have a picnic. Presently there is a petition posted around the neighborhood to save the park as it's at risk of being redone as an official field for the schools. The biggest issue is that the field will be changed to artificial turf. There is a website that goes into all the details and hopes to preserve the park. Personally, I think the Park is fine as is but have not strong opinion on the matter. As it stands Wallingford Playfield is a nice park that I enjoy walking through occasionally.

Big parties enjoy the swing at the playground. It also has a great drum station. Very attractive for toddlers. Kids will also hang out by the climbing net. A lot of movement for sure. Lots of kids. Some of them were in summer camps with their guides :) Restrooms just steps aside the pool. Loved that there is a "deeper" part so todds can swim. Everyone is friendly. Benches around to sit and watch. But it can be tricky to find shade sometimes. Just 2 sits :S It also has a kind of beach for babies. There is plenty of room to run down the park. Green grass makes it nice :) Street next to the park can be closed for neighbors only. Parking was no problem though.

The shortcut up the hill is way worth any of that though. And I think the park is beautiful in it's own way. I love the industrial look and how it melds with it's environment. Our experience was a good one. It was a bright and sunny day with minimal wind. We saw over 6 sets of homeless people and they didn't bother us one bit. Our hotel overlooked the park and we saw people in it with their dogs all the time, even when it was raining.

So I walked into the cesspool of all bathrooms and to my amazement in this most grotesque places, I discovered 2 condom machines. I felt all warm hearted knowing someone could walk in here and practice safe sex in a toilet. I'm not sure whom I would have Carnal Knowledge in this restroom but it's appears many do. Well, as I gagged at the aromatic smells I did take the time to get a photo prior to my escape. An no I don't not make a purchase. Back to the fields, both are newer turf but it's kinda beat up. But at least it's not dirt fields. Lights aluminate the field for night games so no worry's about playing at night. Well, if your cruising in the valley and need to glove up now you have a late night location to purchase some live gloves for your date.

On a weekend in the fall, it only seemed to be used for locals to ride their dirt bikes on and was otherwise generally empty. My main "eh" was that it doesn't seem to be a safe area as Rainier Ave seemed fairly dicey and while they do have a playset, it's the most remarkable thing about the space. If you're in the area, Seward Park is a much better bet, and overall I'd skip this park unless you're here for soccer with a group.

Pretty decent courts, played there during the week and it wasnt busy at all. We were the only ones there at this 3 court set up. Nets are pretty good, no major cracks on the court. There is also a practice hitting board you can hit on too. Played soccer for the meetup.com thing at the soccer field and the field was in good shape. Nice upkeep of the field. There used to be a tennis court next to that but no more. Anyways, pretty nice park, a lot of people walking their dogs, kids running around etc. Nice environment and good place to bring your family. We stayed at an Airbnb a few blocks from this playground, and this became one of the kiddies'…read morefavorite activities. The playground is probably appropriate for 2-10 year olds. There are a few swings, 3 climbing structures with slides, and a few spinning things. It gets busy around 3 p.m. on weekdays. The bathrooms are pretty decent, and there are a couple of pickleball courts right next to the playground. Around the perimeter of the playground is a woodsy area with wild blackberries. Folks bring bags to pick blackberries as their children play. Overall, a fun playground that will keep your kids entertained for hours.

A visit to Seattle's new Lakeridge Playground. Some kids…read moremight call this time of year "spring," but mine know it as "empty playground season." We took advantage of a recent rain break to visit Rainier Beach's newly opened Lakeridge Playground. We had the place to ourselves all morning! Fairy tale fans: Do you remember how Goldilocks tries large, medium and small chairs before finding the perfect fit? That's how my kids reacted to the new play space. The tallest structure features a net climber with rings, a net arch and a big slide. The smallest structure, geared towards the 2-5-year-old age group, has a climbing wall and drums that entertained them for a little while, but overall was too easy.  The middle structure? The kids completed circuit after circuit of bounding across the jungle gym and then giving the rainbow sensory panel a spin before scaling the tower to wave at me from the top. There are double slides for downhill races, and a roller slide that makes your voice warble on the way down.  This new neighborhood play area is a great destination. Just remind me how much we love "empty playground season". My kids (8 years and 5 years) absolutely loved this playground.

It's easy for me to get to…read more During the best of times, Judkins is a vibrant park that has large fields for soccer, volleyball, frisbee or anything else you may enjoy outdoors. There's a basketball court and a skate park. There's a splash pad, picnic tables, restrooms and kids playground. With COVID I have seen a lot of people wear mask as they do the above activities. Not everyone complies and the skate park and basketball court is frequently crowded. However, going for a walk on the walking path or a bike ride, most people are following suggested social distancing guidelines. Judkins feels like a neighborhood park. The kind of park where you see familiar faces and as a member of the neighborhood, I definitely can attest to that.

Bridle Trails Corner Park can be found at the intersection of NE 24th Street and 134th Avenue NE in…read morethe Bridle Trails neighborhood. It's just up the road from bustle of businesses and suddenly there is lots of woods. This park features a picnic area, loop pathway through forest, wildflower meadow, native gardens with wetland views, large grassy area, and a small play area with natural type of play elements. It's not a large park but nice for the neighborhood. It is part of the larger "Bridle Trails Park foundation" which collectively offers more than just the Corner Park here. Some of what they offer are Nature walks, Halloween Scavenger hunts for families, and "National Public Lands Day" among other events to get you out. Again, perfect for families in the area already. Corner Park is just a part of a big system, could be a nice spot for a little walk.

Extremely clean and well maintained. No restrooms and definitely on the small side, but a relatively large flat lawn, a loop walking trail of sorts (probably about 200m), and a young children play area (swings, short slide, slack rope, etc.).
