(He has dyslexia and autism) And rather than try out another medication to lessen his anxiety, I wanted to target the source of his symptoms. Which meant looking for an alternative school. I am soo incredibly grateful I found Pivot and was able to transfer him in the beginning of 2nd semester. It only took a few phone calls and emails and everything was transferred to Pivot and he was able to start the next week. He's now a much happier person, no longer struggling with anxiety and depression. The small quiet classes sizes and kind welcoming students have been fantastic! Along with supportive teachers & aids. It's a super welcoming place, the students are quiet and respectful to each other. Which is not what he experienced in public schools with bullying and harassment from other students, and then nothing was ever resolved by teachers or administrators. My son attends school on campus Monday to Thursday 9am-12pm and then Friday is an only check in at 10:30am and works online that day but the school is incredibly flexible if your student wants to do online only or mix some in person classes with online work. The campus is HUGE! Not only just North county but also Riverside and I'm sure more areas. His education coordinators Gus & Alex have been a godsend, they are so kind to him and know how to work with him at his pace. Gail & Adrian (admin team) are also super friendly and so helpful with anything we've needed. My son especially likes the walking journals, where the classroom goes out on nature walks by san Marcos lake and takes pictures of the scenery. As well as awesome field trips to cool places like the History of Music & History of Surf museum. He also loves when they play volleyball in the parking lot- it's very 80s nostalgia- kids playing in the open space and yelling car when they need to stop. If your child is struggling, with making friends, feeling out of place or overwhelmed by regular public schools. Try Pivot, it's a game changer and for my family a prayer answered! This is public school also, so it IS paid for. I am happy to see my daughter actually get excited about attending and learning. No more stressing about fitting in enough hours for her to get her education and pursue her passion. Happy MOM. We enrolled Jan 2023, first day he comes home, my child had scratches on his face, we get a OUCH report tell us of a mishap or injury occurred, this is the schools procedure to keep the parents informed. As days go by, we received DAILY injury reports, a scratch, a bite, a bruise, slowly the Boo-boo/ouch reports stopped, but the injuries continued, we asked for a meeting with the head teacher she informed us their care plans of Ratio to students will be smaller, and a better & closer supvision will be monitored, I informed the teacher if the roles were reversed and a child comes to school with unexplained injuries the school would probably call DCSF, I am concern ! Am I leaving my baby to be abused in a Christian school, the "stigma" sets in. It's a month later and my gut a roaring! trying to tell me something, today i hung out and for a good 10 mins and yes I am monitoring the time, there is NO teacher supervising the play ground, I discovered they are on side the bldg tucked away talking to a New Employee, today I observed six kids rough housing on the playground with injuries!, how many other children are being neglected. Enough is enough granted they are affordable but now I can understand why. I've taken a picture still debating to post, granted I can blur out the faces. I listen to my gut and pulled my son out, we NO Longer attends this daycare. Trust your instincts.

They always just sat and watched them play never interacted with them. They try to boss you around with when to bring them when it's not school. It's DAYCARE. my kid would cry in the in the morning when dropped off and they would tell me to leave him on the floor. They wouldn't even give the kids a hug to make them feel better. Doesn't seem like a place that is there for the kids sake. I didn't even realize how bad it was till we found a place that is so loving and caring and actually teaches the kids and interacts with them.

However, if you have the feeling your kid is being unfairly treated/graded, then you should probably get out as fast as you can. I've seen it with several parents including myself, who ended up taking their kids out because they dared to voice criticism. Our kid's mental health and intelligence got called into question year after year after being initially told how great our kid is doing. I guess the teachers had to be brought up to speed first. We probably got labeled difficult parents. Often when we wanted updates and voiced that the grading of work was incorrect, we found ourselves called into meetings with up to five (!) school officials. Exchanging emails with the school is like talking to lawyers. The same phrases over and over while usually not getting specific answers to specific questions. Again, I am not saying this is a bad school for the average child/parent but looking back I simply have to leave this honest review because my two kids started thriving after leaving Paloma.
