That was my first day in New Jersey and I was happy to browse through things at this supermarket. Everything you need is here. The produce is very fresh. We bought some clams, snails, octopus, salmon to make a hot pot, and when we wanted to have a few more snails, they opened the bag and put some more in without weighing it again. The staff was so friendly and nice. They helped me find everything I was looking for. The watercress and vegetables were fresh. I bought some sweet potatoes and casavas which were both so delicious when I steamed them. They displayed everything so neatly here. The only suggestion I have is to please raise the temperature in the supermarket a few degrees. It was freezing cold. Other than that, all good. Thanks to this supermarket, my friend and I had a delicious steaming boat as our first dinner at this Airbnb in Elizabeth city.

Name brands that they sell happen to be cheaper at neighboring stores in Newark (ShopRite Springfield ave, Superfresh Clinton ave, even sometimes Whole Foods broad st). They also lack variety of options that other stores sell (being that Ironbound is mostly Portuguese and Brazilian population), a little more variety could do no harm. The shelved bakery items (outside of the bakery counter in the back) happen to taste old or like fridge. I'll give them credit for the butcher and the seafood market though. Overall, greed is what's happened to this place.
