Seats at the bar, around the bar, and in several quirky rooms located through the place. It has a old world charm and vibe. Being in a neighborhood, it's popular with locals not tourists, which are the places I actively seek out. Prices are very good, the sausage snack was fantastic. The people are friendly, which is something I always appreciate when traveling alone. They have a big selection of snacks or meals, but I was here at 430 so just had the sausage. Softly in the background they have old records from the 40s playing which adds to the charm. I highly recommend this place. Be sure to see Cogels Osylei two blocks away!

The food menu looked nice, but I couldn't pass up their asparagus menu because it's currently asparagus season. I've never had white asparagus, and let me tell you, it's a must try. It also comes with a beer pairing. The staff members are great but the restaurant understaffs, so the service is slow. Our group felt bad for the team serving us even though we had to wait over an hour for our food to come out. The staff was apologetic and checked in; made sure they at least served us drinks while we waited.

Mind you, I am quite surprised that I haven't written about this place because I had just been harrased by a beggar that apparently spoke German, English, and French, and I came in here, ordered a beer, and made a comment that maybe I should consider learning Russian because I doubt anybody else actually speaks Russian. Turns out that the guy sitting on the stool next to me did speak Russian, so that was out of the question. Still, great little cafe, and excellent location on the Grote Markt overlooking the town hall. Very relaxing, and excellent choices in beers.

Actually, come to think of it the pub was pretty bad. It is your typical Irish pub, and being near the railway station means that the place does get pretty packed. Like the other places along this stretch of Antwerp they have an outdoor area, though as you can imagine this is where all of the smokers congregate. The pub itself is actually pretty big. In fact when I was exploring the back alley on my last night here I actually found myself staring at what I thought was another Irish Pub only to discover that it actually had a back door. Still, after the first time I should have gone somewhere else, it was just that I didn't really want to walk too far.

Actually, what was annoying was that the outside area was pretty packed which meant that we ended up having to sit inside, which wasn't a bad thing, but the European outside experience is much better than it is in Australia (in many cases they try to be European and fail abyssimally - for some reason I simply don't like sitting on sidewalk seats in Australia). Anyway, this is basically a beer bar, and a pretty cool one at that. When I was there it was pretty quiet (except for the fact that there were no seats outside) but it had a pretty nice atmosphere and a great interior. Personally I probably can't say all that much beyond that, expect that it was pretty cool and I really enjoyed it.

Inexpensive good beer is the main reason to come here. I had to move table as the one I was sitting at was reserved and not marked. Very friendly and brought me a shot on the house for the inconvenience. Wonderful place.
