Pricier than other pub food, but you get what ya pay for. Bangers and Mash were legit. I always heard American portions were huge, but no way was this a meal for one person. Another friend got the shepherd's pie (or is it cottage pie?) and loved it. There's a big vending machine where you can get snacks or souvenirs, including T-shirts! Staff was mighty fluent in English, so of course they had menus for us yanks.
I didn't come here to drink, but everyone who did looked like they had a blast. I'm not sure how much it had cost them, but many customers had a board of beers brought out. It looked like a paddle with holes to set 6 small glasses in, and people were racing to finish them!
Outside (this was in March), my friends and I engaged in a massive snowball fight, something that the scorching, desert climate of our home never allows. I didn't care that my bare hands went numb, we all had a blast while locals gave us silly looks. Antwerp police cruised by slowly, and my heart sank a bit. Until they just stopped to laugh with us and all the fun we were having. My sigh of relief was visible in the snowy night air, huddled behind the makeshift barrier on the back patio. Unforgettable.
