Good selection of fresh vegetables, South Asian spices, and many ethnic foods. They also have a gold and music section in the back of the store. Their ready-to-go snacks are also a quick yummy treat including samosas, burger patties and green-chilli fritters.

I bought 2 of the same beeji Ka paneer. I was charged 4.49(correct price) for one and 4.99 for the other.

At Patel brothers they do not itemize things on the bill properly. And the prices are entered by hand. And I have been overcharged on at least two occasions. I'm not sure if its intentional or accidental but I'm always forced to check the bill afterwards and look for wrong charges. I never went back and fought with them because I am lazy to do so. The people have been nice to me and stock is pretty good. Location is in a shady area but it's quite close to where I live. I try to go there while there's day light or go with friends in a group.

Picked these up for the fiancé.

This is so much better than buying spices from an American grocery store! They sell good size bags of spices for 1.50-2$! Not bad at all. They have a selection of fresh produce I think is meant for Indian cooking- some beans and things I've never seen before. There are a lot of Indian people going in and out of the place and I hear good things from people. So far I've only bought okra, spices and a box of snacks. I will come back for ethnic items whenever I need it.

Patel Brothers is definitely an upgrade from Halal Meat & Grocery (http://www.yelp.com/biz/halal-meat-market-takoma-park) that's located down the street! The last time I had been to the Halal Meat & Grocery store, I vowed if it were up to me, I wouldn't return there ever again. And I am so glad I made the shift to Patel Brothers. Everything in Patel Brothers is kept neat, clean, and tidy. Everything (that I needed) was fully stocked. And I was just super happy with my experience. The one downside is that Patel Brothers is closed on Mondays.

I love this store, I come here to get my pupulu and pugua (pan and pepper leaf). Always tastes fresh. The pugua isn't what im used to, but it works just the same. Friendly service and easy to navigate store. The location isn't too ideal for some, but works fine for me.

Don't let the outside appearance or location fool you. Nice variety of food items inside and surprisingly clean.

Make sure you at the bottom of any packaged items. I've found mold on my snap peas and garlic. I went today for tomatoes and it was hard to find an actual red one. The prices have gone up almost 75% post Covid. They have always doubled the price for any American products. The precut turkey legs were very gray, so i opted out. The tub of ice cream use to be around $4, it is now $8. The same tub is cheaper at Sam's Club and Costco. Once I was done and went to the line. They FORCE...FORCE YOU TO USE DEBIT. If you have a card that has both debit and credit....they do not know how to change it. I asked for a manager. They said he left and there was no one to talk to. The cashiers do not speak English very well. It was absolutely ridiculous. I forgot why I stopped coming before this visit but now I remember. I won't be back. Lost customer.

They have a huge poultry/meat/and seafood section not mentioning the aisles which is full of all kinds of dry food to almost every household items. Over all this is a good place do your shopping but only thing is the check out. One star out because the check out is alwasy horrendous. The check out lines are alwasy closed. You will have to wait a good 20+ minutes just to check out on a normal day, weekends can take you longer and thats why I don't go there unless its very needed.

Overall a great corner market that packs a lot into a small amount of space. I appreciate that they have a mix of different food stuffs--both cheaper staples and fancier items (e.g. both organic gluten free pasta and instant ramen; all-natural snacks and also Oreos and chips). The produce seems fresh and I love how many vegan options there are, especially the non-dairy cheeses! Plus they have toiletries, OTC medication, etc. I've popped in several times and I'll be back!

The store was bright, clean, and well-organized with an expansive selection of organic and conventional items. Although a few items may cost more than they would at a national supermarket chain, many items cost the same or less than you'd find elsewhere. One thing that's particularly nice about this store is that they sell a lot of single-serve items -- so if you ever want a healthy snack but don't necessarily want to commit to buying an entire box of something, you can stop in here (and much like a CVS or convenience store) grab just one of the item without breaking the bank. I also appreciate that this place has fresh produce, including apples, avocados, cabbage, etc. so it's also the kind of place where you can grab a few dinner items without fighting the crazy lines at Walmart or driving farther out to a full-service store. There is also a hot food station at the register that serves spring rolls and meat patties. All in all, this is a great new addition to our neighborhood, and I hope it gets plenty of support from the community!
