I call for a cab at 8:02 at Patchogue RR…read morewhen I get off the 7:58 train and I'm always told 15 minutes. 20 minutes later a cab comes in and it's a cab driver who can't cross Sunrise Hwy because the driver got into a bad accident years ago by there so I'm stuck waiting another hour till 9:00 pm when the next train comes in!! Why bother telling me 15 minutes if you have no taxis available? Plus shouldn't you have taxis at the train station automatically when trains come in like every other taxi company does? YES!!! And forget about getting a taxi at night during the 7:00 hour because it's shift change and you will never get a taxi until 8:00pm!! You can get off the train at 6:50 and they're already on shift change and you're stuck for over an hour until 8:00 when the evening shift gets on! No other taxi company on Long Island operates this way!! It should be illegal to run this business the way you do!! Another time I was on the train the door on my end of the car didn't open in Patchogue but the other did and I had to go to Bellport and I call taxi and he says "we dont pick up there at this time of night, it's too dangerous." Started walking home then taxi came anyway. I know Bellport is dangerous at 2:20am but still. It's not my fault the train door didn't open up and I got stuck in Bellport!! Shut up and do your job and get the people where they are to where they need to go!!!!

Now the only way I can get something reliable is with Ronkonkoma Taxi and Airport Service. They aren't the fastest but they are the most reliable taxi company in the Ronkonkoma area. The fares are never the cheapest either but again, its reliable. If I'm in a pinch I'll call them because at least I know what I'm getting. Their airport shuttles on the other hand are spectacular. If I order a cab for 3am to get me to JFK Airport, it's Johnny on the spot and he's there 15 minutes early for my ride.

You get what you pay for. STAY AWAY…read more Two of the worst driver experiences ever. For the trip to the airport, Lawrence E. showed up early and was rushing us the whole time. When we got to the car, instead of saying hi or being professional, he rudely told us we were making him late because he had to go to Smithtown after us. Then, he drove us to the WRONG AIRPORT. For the trip back, I got a text from Damian Smith when we landed, telling us he was running late. I appreciated the heads-up. He said it would be about 35 minutes, which would have been only a short wait for us after getting our bags, but it ended up being over an hour and 40 minutes. We kept checking in with phone calls and texts and he always said he was very close and would be there soon. At one point he said he had stopped to get gas. Then he said he was very close and that we should come outside. So we waited another ten minutes in the cold with our newborn baby after a 2 hour flight and he still wasn't there. I called him and demanded to know where he was, explaining that my newborn was cold and hungry and he hung up on me. Not knowing what else to do, I called the company to complain and cancel the ride. Just as he was pulling up, the company hung up on me. Damian now wants to talk to me "man to man". He said the safety of his passengers is his number one priority and that he had to get his wheel fixed, as if I should have both known that was what was really going on, and that I should have been grateful that was the reason he was late, instead of doing the right thing and letting us and the company know so other arrangements could be made. He denied hanging up on me. And felt he had to explain that he was in the right because the wheel needed to be fixed. He also told us he had to drive to Canada the next day. When he got us home, he said "See? You're home safe." As if he was a hero. Worst experience ever.

Some like to fly in Laguardia if they are flying domestically, but for me, its always been JFK. Here you can find multiple ways to get to the city center. Probably the fastest is by tram ir subway, rent a car, Taxi or Uber/Lyft, airport transfer or if you dont care how long it takes to get to your hotel, you can catch the bus but be warned it will probably take you over 2 hours so I've been told. I've done a ton of quick trips to the Big Apple and JFK is always there to greet me. The food, shops, and yes even last minute souvenir shops are pretty good here. Dont forget to snap a picture of all the taxi cars lined up and ready to take you into the city that never sleeps.
